Seriously, this channel is amazing. The production value is top shelf, and the presentation, knowledge and teaching is concise and clear. Steve just has this natural ability to condense otherwise complicated concepts into digestible and actionable lessons. All killer no filler. Joey Sturgis is the only other person that I think presents information as well as Steve.
Thanks Damien, appreciate it.
Thanks, really efficient !
In Cubase 13, you can now in one click change from mono to stereo. Then you can use the Steinberg monoToStereo plug-in to change the width and the delay.
Thank you daddy, is today I really learn about widening,
Am a Nigerian, long live sir
This track delay use is a game changer !!
Better result u can get if u automate it and change the channels with delay
That second trick is more than worth a try or two. Gonna give that a go for sure!
That was great. Thanks very much.
I quantise copies of the guitar to 16ths and 8ths, pan the, left and right and that works really well
Really excellent tutorial, so well explained. Thank you.
Great tutorial thankyou.
Thanks a lot for this tip.
An excellent video once again. Some very useful tips. Love this channel. Many thanks
Brilliant ❤
Great job! Good ideas! Thank you so much
You're a magician in real life!!!!
Amazing!!!!
thank you 🙂
What a great video Steve!
Thanks Matt!
lovely
Love this…have come from ableton via studio one to cubase in last year. This technique well used to doing in ableton but didn’t know until today in cubase…..the delivery on mastering I recently watch massive eye opener……never realizing the functionality of cubase when mastering
Here is a method I developed but in order to work you need the tempo synced to the song, in Cubase pro you can match tempo first, then duplicate the guitar track and pan each one hard left and right, then Quantize the duplicated track enabling Audio Warp and Itrative Quantize in Cubase, depends on the style of playing you might need to set it on 16 most of the time. If you get some weird timing effects you can go back to the quantized audio file and look for audio warp lines and correct them. You can listen to this example in my recordings. Great video by the way.
Why quantizing? Automate the 2nd inversed track delay between -10m and +10ms.. Then automate pitch the 1st track (not the original one) for some cents.. below and above 0. Then you have a stereo width blow you a out of your socks. Having mono compatibility intact as well.
Awesome tricks! For the second method, do you want to leave the Mono2Stereo plugin on the Stereo Out so the guitars don't cancel each other?
The Mono2Stereo plugin is just there to make it easy to check the mix in Mono. I disable it, or remove it for the final mixdown.
@@Featherlightstudio Gotcha - thanks!
Hello sir,I have used a ts cable from the guitar to the multieffect, from the multieffect to the mixer I use a ts cable and from the mixer to the active speaker I use an xlr cable.. in your opinion, is the resulting sound stereo or mono?
Mono, unless you have modified the XLR cable in some way.
Is it necessary that you pan them all the way(100%) to the left and right sides? I mean, you can't just pan them left and right about 50-70% for each side?
Really great video thought, thanks!
No not necessary, just a stylistic choice for each song.
1st method is Haas effect.
very interesting, but why? I record bands/music with a stereo shotgun or the Pocket 3 which has a pretty good stereo mic input. Marty Sender You Tube
