Always love those gushers and this was really awesome...keep them coming!! Thank you Donald your videos are the best! Blessings to you and yours 🙏🗽🍎🐀🌽🧤🦺👍
It seems your flashlight just wants to take a bath in it lately haha. And we get a concert after it flow like a river. Thanks for the Monday morning uploads Donald!
Was worrisome when you said it smelled like drain cleaner...especially the way stuff came shooting out. Take care amigo! Happy 4th to you and yours, hope you get some chill time! 🍺🇺🇸
Decades old caps still match for the modern pumping techniques of this day and age of the good old mallet and .....uhhhhh.....cap buster tool. Hehe there's a proper name for that tool in your industry. I was ready for a nice gusher when you got the 2nd cap off and was not disappointed. :D Also your magnet on your light stick was not cooperating this time around. ;)
The chisel and sledge gets the job done most of the time 😉 it was wasn't the greatest spot for the water line coming into the house, and not much options to put the light on 🤷♂️
HI Donald ,did i hear you right about fumes, that acess was a bit deep . in the end you gave you usual all clear and flowing like a river had some lady join you lol ..nice video
This was a great one today Don. As someone commented came with a Jingle flowing like a river. You should take the her singing 🎶 edit it for your soundbite as your intro. Awesome job as always Don. Have a Blessed week and enjoy your 4th of July.
Some come out relatively quick, and others are just a pain in the a$$ and take much longer that your arms feel like spaghetti swinging a sledgehammer over and over. Same to you Ken 🎆
A Deep Pit. What You the Drain have to open. Is Rust Formation! Hard Work the Cover to open.! Then a great Spring ; You work with the Twist Drill, Roots Rust, and Line. Make the Block. Then the Drain is Unblock. 👌👍
I am sure this has been covered before at some point, but why not use a shop vac to clear out the pit and make room to work, instead of risking the junk flowing back into the pipes? How about a 2-3 ft chisel so you can a decent swing at things down in a hole like this? Maybe even a handheld grinder to weaken the caps first?
It's really not my responsibility to keep the area of the pit clean after years of neglect from the homeowner, I do advise the customer afterwards that it would be smart to level out the pit to prevent things from falling in the trap. Using such a long chisel would mean that my body and eyes would be further away from the trap risking me of a missing, hitting/breaking, or fracturing the trap itself, causing more problems for the homeowner. If you watched my previous videos in the past, you would see that I do own and use a shop vac and an angle grinder that I would use if the old chisel and hammer don't work. As for the vacuum, in my line of work I suck up more water than dirt and got rid of my filter years ago, and doing so would fling dirt all over that white shiny van behind me! I weaken the caps by caving in the caps with the sledge 😉
Those are brass caps that were used/ installed when building the house. They still make those, but once gold in color now green after many decades later!
If they aint in your living room or basement they arevin a ridiculous deep pit. BTW.. there was a lot of acid in that drain.. you could tell from the corrosion on that last cap.
I wonder the same every time... There's gotta be a reason. I mean it will still overflow but then you don't have to risk getting splashed when your opening the side that's under pressure.
If I can avoid forcing the thick cable which is hard to maneuver with a blade at the end of it through a cast iron trap which is usually more than 60 years old in most of my cases, yes I will try everything eles but that, unless I have no other choice than to risk fracturing or breaking the trap which happened before in the past.
my god what a horrible little hole. and that was put there forever ago with the intentions of being cleared with a hand snake no doubt. how they expect anyone to access and use a cleanout in a tiny little hole in the floor just seems mean.

Hi, You gave your light a hard time on this 1....lol Why do the covers go like that please? Stay Safe from a Tasmanian Fan ❤️🙏👍🤗
Those are brass caps that were used/ installed when building the house. They still make those, but once gold in color now green after many decades later!
You’ve got to clip that “song” and make an outro!!!
🤔👌
Once you had the first cap off couldn't you clear the blockage and then take the second one off?
Sometimes yes.

I was waiting to seeing if you going to lose your patience with the flashlight. Because I would be. That was a hard one.
It sure was a pain in the a$$ , making the job harder than it already was 😤
That poor flashlight.

she sounds fun, well maybe not. 🥳

You should charge extra to remove armored plugs that have been there so long that they are part of the pipe.

Почему нельзя сразу прочистить через первое отверстие, а нужно и вторую крышку сбивать?
Yes, to clean it 100%
I'll never understand why after opening the street side of the trap that you don't clear the trap next, which in most cases is the problem!!??
I wonder the same every time... There's gotta be a reason. I mean it will still overflow but then you don't have to risk getting splashed when your opening the side that's under pressure.
