Renee Zellweger is Roxie Hart . She put every aspect of her acting ability including her amazing singing voice. This wasn't just a role of a unique character but a very crucial hyper critical role under the scrutiny of many a Broadway theater fan and review. When people now hear the title They think of Chicago the Movie and secondarily that it was a Broadway play. All that is due to Renee's phenominal performance as Roxie . All the other stars gave great performances as well. But Now you cant imagine anyone else playing the leading role.
Of course, we watch movies for the actors and performances, but to me, the secret "stars" of this scene are cinematographer Dion Beebe and editor Martin Walsh. My favorite part is the alternating shots of the final bars of the song: the low angle of the "Roxie" sign, and for me, the absolute fire of this scene is the quick cut to the close-up of Roxie's face on the word "Sophie," and then how it immediately changes back to the low angle on the word "Tucker," then alternates for the rest of the song.
Even though Marylin Monroe wasn't around in the fifties, this choreography wS definitely inspired by a Marylin Monroe scene, especially with all the men carrying her

For people who never saw any stage version of Chicago, or didn't know she can't sing, they get to go through this journey with Roxie and by the end of it finally realize how poor of a singer she really is. It actually makes it an even darker story about Roxie's narcissism.
The first feeling i had after watching this was “Poor Renee. Catherine takes all the spotlight “ Catherine was sooooo good. She deserves the Oscar. Then I watched this clip and I realised that Roxie is number 2. And Veronica is always number 1. Renee actually did an awesome job…
Love them both😍
This movie is a banger if u have any taste and soul at all people

No one knew she could dance and sing, too, before this movie!! So good!!
She has proven herself as one of our GREAT talents!
난 이 장면도 좋지만 록시가 남친 죽이고 얼마 안 되서 남편이랑 같이 경찰한테 심문받을 때 록시혼자 노래하는 장면이 제일 좋음ㅎㅎ
Of course, we watch movies for the actors and performances, but to me, the secret "stars" of this scene are cinematographer Dion Beebe and editor Martin Walsh. My favorite part is the alternating shots of the final bars of the song: the low angle of the "Roxie" sign, and for me, the absolute fire of this scene is the quick cut to the close-up of Roxie's face on the word "Sophie," and then how it immediately changes back to the low angle on the word "Tucker," then alternates for the rest of the song.
She's giving off strong Marilyn Monroe vibes in this performance.
She was over the top on this performance. If she would have won the Oscar it would have been no. 2
정말 헐리우드 대배우의 아우리 바이브 춤 노래 모든게 다르구나.. 대단하다 대단해..
she’s a great singer. loved empire records. gotta love a scratchy voice…
Am I the only one who really wants the costume she's wearing? lol
Same here
“ and Sophie tucker will shit I know “ that’s such a funny line !
You get the feeling that Marilyn is looking on and approving....
She reminds me of Marilyn Monroe with the way she acts
Sandra Dee
Renee was so so perfect for this role

Roxie Hart. The name sounds cute at first, but then you realize that it basically means "rocklike heart".
와 근데 치마 자락 흔들릴때마다 다라락 다닥 소리나는 거 보면 꽤 아팠을 것 같은데...와중에 저렇게 해내네 멋져요
She is such a talented woman. She can sing, dance and act. She was superb in 'Cold Mountain'!!
When she sang "celebrity" @0:19, she looks exactly like Marilyn Monroe. Wow.
Renee is so sweet and smooth as silk here. She is just shining.
I can't believe she didn't win best actress that year, it's just not right!
Even though Marylin Monroe wasn't around in the fifties, this choreography wS definitely inspired by a Marylin Monroe scene, especially with all the men carrying her
Absolutely from Gentlmen Prefer Blondes
Thats for the 20's.
You meant she wasn't around in the 20s.
