Aloha Steve another great video, thanks for taking the time. That really is a great area near the pioneer inn/banyan tree, it’s a shame about the boat causing an eyesore to such a historic backdrop. Hope you have a great weekend in paradise, be well. 🤙
Aloha Hernandez. Many thanks for watching and it's always good to see you here. Yes, that's whole area around the Banyan Tree, harbor, Wharf Cinema Center, and park is a fun area on Front Street. We gotta get that darn boat out of there!! Stay Safe and Stay Salty. Keep the fire going. Best Aloha Wishes.
Again a great video Steve look forward to coming back this year...
Aloha Mark. Many thanks for watching and it's nice to see you. C'mon back to Maui and I'm sure you'll have a great time. Stay Safe and Salty and Travel Well. There's a Mai Tai waiting for ya'll. Best Aloha Wishes.
Great to see another of my favorite videos. I stayed at the Pioneer Inn many years ago and I really enjoyed it!
Aloha Raymond and many thanks for watching and commenting. Wowszie. You stayed there and that is awesome. Hope you get back to Maui soon. Best Aloha Wishes.
The old restaurant at the Pioneer Inn was one of our go-to spots for breakfast as it was cheap and cheerful. We were sad to see it go.
Aloha Dan. Always good to see you and thanks for watching. Yea, I did like the "old" Pioneer Inn and went often for the Chili & Rice. Great Breakfast, too. But times have changed and the food is different but very good. Stay tuned as in July I will go on a "Celebration of 70" tour of SE Asia countries and shoot a lot of video. I hope you will watch. Best Aloha Wishes.
Great video Steve! WoW!Very amazing story! That a lot! 😮
Aloha Wilala TRS. Many thanks for watching/commenting and so nice to see you here again. Please keep watching, as soon I will embark on Steve's "Celebration of 70" Tour of SE Asia and you can't miss a video of all the amazing places I'll be showing. Best Aloha Wishes.
Steve & Patricia, new subs here. Mahola for your videos. Locco Mocco and a Bloody Mary is my kinda brunch! Steve
Aloha Steveb9phone. Many thanks for watching and commenting and subbing. Really appreciate it. Yea, I need to do a video on the "best" Loco Moco, along with a Bloody Mary. I've eaten a few lately and the video at Pioneer Inn had a LM in it and it was very good, but not a traditional Loco Moco. Stay in touch and come to Maui soon. Best Aloha Wishes.
Thanks for the back story to the birthing Stone. We will check it out (glad I wasn't surrounded by "chiefs" when I had my two!) Like the last comment said, I was just thinking you have just had all that kerfuffle with that boat in Honolua Bay and now this. Like you said, "get this boat outta here!"
Aloha Gill and many thanks. Always good to see you. Yea, Maui is having a bad run of luck with yachts this year. We just finished the total disaster in Honolua Bay and now this one right in front of everyone on Front Street. I'm hope it gets cleared-up soon. Stay safe. Stay Salty. Best Aloha Wishes.
This is one of my favorite places to visit, the stones location that is. Hope they get the boat off soon without any further damage to the natural setting and reef area. We can’t wait to visit the new pier as well. Thanks for another video and I will be in touch for a get together when we are in the area. We will be staying at Valley Isle. Hoping to connect with you for a malasadas and coffee one morning perhaps!!!
Aloha Doug. Many thanks for watching/commenting and good to see you. Yea, I hope they get that yacht out of there this week. They'll do an Environmental Impact Study and there may be further fines and costs for the owner. Stay in touch. Our well-known Malasadas place here in Lahaina Town is gone, no longer in business. We'll see if we can meet-up for a bit somehow someway. Best Aloha Wishes.
Great video as usual Steve and Patricis
Aloha Janet. Thanks for watching and commenting. Please stay tuned as I will be doing in July a "Celebration of 70" tour of Asian countries and shooting a lot of video. I hope you will watch. Best Aloha Wishes.
Thanks for the educational video! I'm in that area all the time and didn't know about the birthing stone. Will check it out next time. Hopefully the boat is removed soon!
Aloha and Mahalo Wes. Hopefully, more informative than educational. I know a lot of the history of that stone and should have said more, but it's easy to learn more with the Internet. It's also a "healing" stone. Yes, I hope the boat is moved soon. Let's get the paperwork done and get it out of there. Best Aloha Wishes.
Maui never looked better, as well as you and Patricia Steve, heard alot of good things about Papa Aina since Lee Anne Wong took over, food looked delicious, hard to believe another boat has run aground, didn't they just pull a yacht off the reef at Honolua Bay? Take care and hope to see you soon.
Aloha Phil. Always good to see you! Yes, Papa' Aina is a totally different place than from what they had there years ago. Excellent food. Really good but a bit pricey. But hey -- the whole island is pricey. LOL Yea, we are just recovering from the disaster and super expensive effort to remove the super yacht from Honolua Bay. And then they had to "scuttle" the yacht in 800 feet of water. A lot of lawsuits over that fiasco. Stay Salty and Travel Safe. See Ya!! Best Aloha Wishes.
My heart breaks for Lahaina
Aloha and thank you for your comments. We are fine. I've just uploaded a video as I now have a computer. ua-cam.com/video/Xccmwj8YTag/v-deo.html I'll be doing more videos and again, Thank you very much for your support. Best Aloha Wishes.
Steve

@@MauiTravelVideosSteve - how can we donate to you and Patricia? We want to help you guys since you lost your home. We are praying for you both
H Steve.
Aloha J. Scott. Good to see you again. Best Aloha Wishes.
How come they cannot handle such a simple boat incident for weeks.
Aloha Ohau D. Many thanks for watching and commenting. Yea, good point! We do have a "process" with a lot of paperwork, high/low tides to consider, who pays for it, insurance, and getting a tugboat over from Oahu. Etc. Etc. Etc. But it should be removed soon. I'll let you know. Best Aloha Wishes.
Iʻve seen the birthing stone a couple of times on walking tours of Lahaina. I landed in Maui in March on the day after the big storm that caused that boat to come loose from it’s mooring. Unlike the one in Honolua Bay, this owner had done everything right. 😢 I hope they figure out what to do about it soon.
Aloha Donna W. Many thanks for watching and for commenting. Yes, you are so very correct. The "situation" in the Honolua Bay disaster was just horrible, and horribly expensive. And then the super yacht was sunk in 800 feet of water. What a mess. I hope they get all the paperwork done soon, and figure out who's to pay, wait for high tide, and then pull it out. We're all hoping the boat will be 'ok' to move without having to "scuttle" it like the other one. I'll keep you posted. Best Aloha Wishes.
