Thank you for keeping us updated. I subscribed because there is little to no information being shared on the "news" or social media about beautiful Lahaina. It's wonderful to see businesses opening up again!
Please keep these videos coming! Thanks for the update and all the time and effort you put in. So glad to see local businesses open and people supporting the comeback. Cheers 🤙
Thank you Jesse I love to watch your videos it just breaks my heart to see Maui in this condition Maui is the most beautiful place in the world to me I wish I could come back one day
My wife and I just returned from a two week stay on Maui. We stayed at the Maui Kai. Had lunch at Mala four times, the food, vibes and service were amazing.
Thank you for this video! I had been looking for updates, and I hope that Lahaina residents will be able to rebuild their homes in the manner that they wish.
Mahalo for the wonderful video! It's great that your video is so positive and shows what's open. I love that! IT's so good to see the familiar areas there. Keep sharing your positive videos, please!
Jesse, thank you for the positivity and for walking on Front Street and showing us what is happening. It's so nice to see your filming, because you have a way of bringing out the beauty of Lahaina that is still there, despite the tragedy. It's great to know that there are places there, outside the burn zone, that still thrive and look beautiful. 🙂
that shot of the West Maui mountains at 5:57 as you are filming Longs Drugs at the Cannery Mall--my favorite part of those mountains. I can remember when the Cannery Mall was a bit out of town, would usually stay in a condo in Honokowai, and come back after checking in to get some groceries at Safeway. Was in the hospital last week and one of the nurses had just gotten back from a week in Maui, she said she stayed in a condo just north of Lahaina, near town. Had a great time. Wasn't up in the resort area.
Aloha Jesse! My wife and I just visited Maui last week and learned that the owner of Frida's passed away and Star Noodle is moving into Frida's old building. Also Old Lahina Luau is reopening March 12th
Before it was a mall ..I used to take my laundry to the cannery. And pick it up later that day clean & folded in a box . The '70s were fabulous in Lahaina🎉
Please keep updating us on any updates. Princess Cruise line is scheduled to visit in early October, so we're trying to find places to eat and visit and support the local community
My husband and I were blessed to spend a month in maui. It was truly humbling to see this we left 2 weeks ago. We frequented Mala and also other areas/ places. it's about supporting them and sharing the Aloha for they are Maui strong and Lahaina strong! God bless them all and we will return soon❤❤
We were just there a few days ago and ate at that restaurant. It was excellent! We also took a whale watching tour from there. It was our first visit to Maui and we loved it. Although it was sad to see so much devastation it was obvious that the island and people are bouncing back.
Great news! We have a group of 16 coming in August to Kaanapali. One of my favorite things do is going to Lahaina, so happy to see progress. Looks beautiful!
Thank you for continuing to provide us updates on the recovery of Lahaina. Hard to believe we were there last March and I am so happy that Mala Tavern and Lahaina Cannery Mall survived. We just ate twice at Mala last March and of course Safeway is the grocery store closest to where we stay. I know this is a long recovery process and I am looking forward to future updates as Maui recovers.
Mahalo for sharing Maui optimism. Considering the misfortune occurred little over six months ago, great to see life slowly returning to parts of Front St.
@@virginiamadrid670 Aloha Mix Plate. A popular restaurant that was closed to make room for Star Noodle during the time of covid. The same company owns The Old Lahaina Luau, Star Noodle, Aloha Mix Plate, and Leoda's pie shop in Olowalu
I am so glad to see them open. We ate there last year before the fire. The restaurant was great and I was so sad for all of Lahaina but hoped they could reopen soon.
I took a whale watching excursion (Makai Adventures) two weeks ago that boarded at Mala Ramp. It was just a few days after they got their new boat. The old one had been in Lahaina harbor. It was a great trip!
Mahalo for showing this Keep doing positive news.As a burned out of apartment in Lahaina neighbor,I've had to move to WAILUKU.After 40 years in Lahaina I SO miss it aloha
Thank you for showing us what’s up with the neighborhood around Mala/Safeway area. Is the water safe around that area? Is it being tested? I heard that Star Noodle is going into a building maybe the Freidas building? Also Aloha mixed plate I heard is making a come back!!!!!
Thank you for the positive video. I am surprised that the luau isn’t open. I imagine that it due in part for the respect of the people in Lahaina. The place next to it was called Lunch plate. We had lunch there before…good food. That’s the Safeway we soul always go to whenever we needed more food. We normally stay at the Aston Whaler and we get a room with a kitchen. Mahalo
Boy, I can remember when the Cannery Mall/Safeway were out of town a bit from Lahaina, used to go to Safeway on my way to the condo I was staying at in Honokowai.
Thank you for this. We’ll be there in 2 weeks and want to be as respectful as possible. Could you tell me if snorkeling at Mala Wharf would be frowned upon?
I'm done with Hawaiʻian Real Estate since Eric cares more about selling homes now than what's happening with Maui Officials and Lahaina Smart City. Was Star Noodle damaged? We were there a month prior to the fire and it looked like that strip was not not destroyed but the restaurant, as many others we visited on Front street, have been closed ever since. I'm glad one restaurant has reopened.
Does that Safeway sell decent seafood? We will be staying in a condo and cook our own meals. We hope to find some decent fresh seafood and produce. It that possible?
With businesses opening up, are they allowing some tourists to visit the area? We are visiting Maui in a couple of months and would love to visit local venders support them.
We went to that Safeway in 2012, purchased blueberries and was shocked at the price. Looked at where they had been shipped from and again shocked they came from Watsonville Ca, we live in San Jose!
Spent our Honeymoon on Maui, Lahaina area. Can you tell me if the Honu Restaurant was once the Ocean House Restaurant back in 1979? Please let me know! Thanks!

I ate at Star noodles many times, the food was good and not expensive. The Safeway there has the oldest oven in all the Hawaiian Safeway stores.
In your videos I see Lahaina Shore with, apparently, no damage but no activity . Is it closed because it is in the burn zone or was it damaged?
Just a simple question. Why is the clean up taking so long? It appears that only a few excavators and trucks are operating.
It’s a great little place to eat
