The new album is also really good, has some metal/punk. And raw lyrics. Never was a huge Demi fan but since this came out it brought a new perpective for me.
When you can hear the pain, raw/real emotion in a singers voice without even needed to see them perform the song live that's freaking talent! Demi has that ability, they can make you FEEL what they are feeling and or even felt when they wrote the song. I've seen Demi live four times and I have no words for the voice she has, she sounds the same has if you were listening to the song on your iPod or CD. The clothes she's wearing are very similar to the ones she wore the night she overdosed. Okay I'll stop with all the Demi Lovato comments, sorry I'll stop driving everyone nuts LOL
This music video is a recreation of the night Demi overdosed on herion that was laced with fentenal (sorry can't spell LOL), when her assistant (at the time) found Demi she was lifeless. Demi had almost no pulse and had three strokes and a heart attack, they are lucky to be alive. She lost her peripheral vision and can't drive anymore because of that. Demi was raped by her drug dealer and left to die, Demi has an entire documentary about all of this that I strongly suggest that you watch because it explains everything. The song Anyone was written and recorded three days before Demi OD, it was a cry for help but no one knew that at the time. Demi is lucky to be alive, she's been clean and sober (again) for a little over a year now I think, before she overdosed she had been clean and sober for six years. But like I said watch the Dancing With The Devil documentary Demi explains everything, you don't have to do a reaction to it you should watch it though.
The music video is a reenactment of what happened when she overdosed in 2018. The heroin was laced with fentanyl and her drug dealer sexually assaulted her. Her clothes in the video are also extremely similar to what she had on that night.
I think the disco looming over the hospital bed symbolizes that addiction doesn’t go away. It lingers during recovery. You should listen to the Holy Fvck album! It’s so good (esp happy ending, substance, and 29)
I LOVE Happy Ending! Substance is really good too cause Demi is talking about how we all are lacking substance meaning how back in 2020 we had to stay away from everyone. We got so used to talking over FaceTime or Zoom that when we do see each other in person it's like we "forgot" how to interact with other people. The song 29 was very brave of Demi to put out there, especially since she's talking about her past relationship with Wilmer (he played Fez on That's 70s Show). Sorry I get nerdy when I talk about Demi Lovato or music in general LOL
Hey Nick, loved the video. Came from your taylor swift reactions as I'm an avid swiftie, and was interested to see how you'd feel about this raw masterpiece. Just wanted to add, the green outfit they're wearing is the exact outfit they wore the night they overdosed, that they posted a selfie in that night. As well as the scenes that they were crying in, were real emotions. They planned to cut out but decided to keep in since filming the video was a "cathartic experience" for them. I think those little details add even more weight to this work of art. Looking forward to seeing more from you, and wondering if you'd be willing to check out "back to you" by ariana grande, as almost an alternate perspective on a similar issue; loving someone with an addiction and not wanting to give up even though the relationship is bad for them. I'd be interested to know your thoughts :)
Thank you Xo! The green outfits oh wow that actually stings =( I would be very interested in reacting to Ariana Grande. If you add it to my discord under requests I'm likelier to get to it sooner.
I don’t know if it’s been mentioned in the comments but Demi was not only reliving the overdose and the aftermath in the video but also what happened moments before (sidenote, she recorded the video showing her night with the same outfit she was using at time). Her dealer was there when it happened and I’m not sure if it was before or during it but he SA her and just left her there as she OD’d
7:45-8:11 Welcome to the World/Voice that is Demi Lovato dude! That's normal for her, they make is sound effortless I have no words for that voice of Demi's none at all
@@nickforell1 Demi was in the middle of a world tour when this happened, she's still famous and went on tour again last year which I went to that concert and it was freaking amazing.
I do not know if you have already been told this. Demi performed at the The 2020 Grammys. I an not sure, but I heard that she sang the song on there 5 days before her overdose. The song she sings Live is called "Anyone", I think you would like that performance. It is heartbreaking. Sings beautifully. Her pain is so raw while performimg.
Hello Nick! I’m new here just subscribed from your Bo Burnham videos but I love the emotion from this one. Would love if you reacted to Avril Lavigne’s “I fell in love with the devil” a lot of people interpret it different but it honestly helped me leave my abusive relationship and it resonates with me deeply. Would love to see how a person in the psych profession would see it. Love your videos so far! Keep up the good work ❤
I’m so sad this video has way less views! I think it’s because less people are searching for demi reactions not bc Less people enjoy her music. I hope this isn’t the last video of theirs you do
@@nickforell1 When The Party's Over is a great one to start. And honestly all her catalogue is incredible, she has a great voice and her lyrics are always so meaningful. Her visuals are a little bit scary and difficult to understand at first but I think you'll love it 😁

Yes Meg, you can identify with her so much based on how they filmed this and her lyrics.
Demi`s voice and lyrics are so touching. I can relate to it so much. It was so hard to lose my crutches but I`m now able to live without them.

A song of their's I've LOVED since I heard it is Stone Cold. Love to see you hearing that one. Kind of simple but powerful.
