the smell of rubber and brakes wafting over you and the loss of hearing for a while bring back memorys, not to mention the crashes that a kid longed for.
At least,it looks like they were doing better racing in these 2 division's than the others that demolished most of the field. Thank you again for sharing 🤗🙏 Truly appreciated 👍🤗❤️🙏
This how dirt track racing looked when I was a kid in the 70's! Late 50's to mid 60's cars were the Street Stocks, and late 60's to early 70's were the Late Models. My boss ran a 57 Chevy with a big pair of lips painted on the side where he was prone to kiss the wall!
I'm young I'm only 31 but the cars at the track my parents use to own from 1999-2002 in the V8 class called thunder stocks was all from the 70&80s that the drivers been racing since the 70s and 80s and it was like a time capsule we would get 40-50 cars show up for that class every Sunday and racing started at 1 pm and almost all the cars was built in the 70s and 80s and the drivers just kept them and never really built new cars they just reskin them every winter ❤and keep fixing them and it was awsome seeing these guys wheel 3250 lb high horsepower open motor except no v8s and a 500 lift cam rule and 750 CFM max 4 bbl carb rule and all the cars had around 480-540 HP with 10 inch latemodel slicks and no power steering in none of them and the bpdoes all looked like these and was unique and it was a very small high banked 1/4 mile oval asphalt track. Other class was 4 cylinder mini stocks and that's it two classes and had 40-50 cars per class every race day show up and heats determine who goes on trailer and who races the feature race and top 3 in each heat ran the trophy dash race which was 5 laps just for a trophy before feature
Love the Old Vintage Race Cars. My Dad Use to have a Few back in the late 60s n 70s. He let someone else drive them tho. When I was around 12 I belive it was I begged him to let me drive them. He was scared 8 would crash them n tear them up or get hurt n a few years later he traded 2 of them for a 327 4spd Corvette setup in a 57 Chevy Belair. Made me Mad. My Luck. 😢
We have a healthy vintage class that races every other week at our local track. They put a full 20 car field in their feature and they go at it as hard as anyone. It's I-35 Speedway in Winston Mo and there's plenty of their races here on UA-cam if anyone is interested.
Boy does this bring back some great memories.
man you ain't'a kiddin'!
Brings back child hood memories ❤

That lead car has definitely got some hp and a good set up
Best racing in the world! Run what you bring old school. And you can hear it.
Makes me wanna hear "Here they come, high, wide & handsome" OUT THE 4TH TURN!!! LOL
Those are real race cars there!
So fricking awesome !!!
Reminds me of the Super Bowl in Greenville Texas back in the 70's, so much fun and Ernie's BBQ to boot. Those were the days.
Watched racing in the 70s at Tulsa speedway. The early supermodified was where my heart was. This is the pretty close second though.

cool!
This is what real race cars sound like.
A potato wagon with a misfire 😂
In all seriousness though a few of them sounded like shit hitting on 6 or 7 🤣
Is it likely these are just new reproduction bodies running modern GM crate engines?
My Dad worked with Jimmy Bolton out of East Texas, raced at MT SELMAN SPEED BOWL.
Good ole Sumter speedway
Love the old coupe modified!
you better believe it folks cause night of thrills is here people.
Are these specific old school stock cars still being raced anywhere? If so, where?
Looks like Sumter Speedway
🎱🎱🎱💥
Real racing and a fair chance … Put the fastest car in back that will show real talent …
cool!
Back then they ran some car on dirt and pavement
By any chance you know where or how I could get in these types of races. I'm just trying to live up to my dream of racing.
They have a Facebook page you could try
@Debbie Nelms Dirt Track Racing , just saw this recently on UA-cam now I'm hooked. I like the old school cars
How fast ?
#7 looked fast in the heat race and then #8 said HOLD MY BEER! in the feature. that car was DIALED for that track.
Anyone know what type of car is the #7??
Could be an early-50s Chevy Bel Air, looks like it cause of the body style.
@@sethguest781 theses cars are from 70s dirt racing ?
@@wesleyamancio3686 Maybe some, they run various body styles ranging from '50s to about '90s I believe.
Looks like a 47 Chevy or and Olds by looking at the grill.
be better on asphalt
UA-cam is awesome. Thanks for posting
