  • We are ready to transform the way the world travels with our new-generation turboprop aircraft, the #D328eco. Uniquely positioned with its size to reduce the risk of high trip costs while offering the right seat-mile cost, our D328eco is the logical and profitable solution to replace slightly larger aircraft or aging turboprops, combining state-of-the-art technology onboard with the possibility of operating on up to 100% #sustainableaviation fuel.

Dear Deutsche Aircraft, please have a chat with Regional Express ("Rex") in Australia. They've got 50 or so Saab 340B's to replace. Would love seeing this on regional routes down under.

Only issue would be REX has already signed a memorandum of understanding with ATR, but it would be cool to see them for sure

@@almostinanambo ATR's would understandably be a low-risk option for the airline. Arguably a higher-risk option for the travelling public due to the higher capacity of the aircraft resulting in reduced frequency or some routes just being deemed unviable for the bigger plane.
The fact that they've been flying 80's vintage SF340's all this time kinda shows that REX is not necessarily a leader in implementing the latest fashions.

No chance of long term success I think, maybe some short term. Dornier has a track record of bad management & going Insolvent, in all it's iterations. at least twice. And failed projects (728). And built in Germany. So a premium for that even though the market knows German quality and organisation is a thing of the past.

ATR-42-600 would be the best option. It would have similar range to Saab 340B compared to D328eco.

Flew on an earlier model of the 328 in mid 1990s. Quiet, efficient, and nearly jet speed for route of a few hundred miles. To this day, my favorite turboprop ride.

Nice, but we really need to think about ways to produce enough SAF, the planes are not really a challenge.

328 is similar to ATR42, & future 428/528/728 will be similar to ATR72! However, the regional aviation market is dominated by ATR & chance for Dornier is little!

It's about the source, where it comes from.
And actually SAF has less pollution, even though that's not really noteworthy besides it's one of the reasons why common engines can't use it.
