German does such a good job showing what’s going on. He’s not trying to frame a narrative or push an agenda. Just purely documentation. Can’t help but be hooked on it.
He's a genuinely nice guy.... and his concern is legitimate.
Agreed. I don't care about someone's politics. I'm just curious about what is happening. Truthfully, it looks sad for the homeless and the city. Glad it's not my problem.
# me too
Agree! A TRUE journalist.
@@joentexas what if politics is the reason why there are so many homeless
Echo park is only 1% of the problem, we have 100 skid rows spreaded all over the city.
the whole city is gonna look like this soon because the cost of living is so damn high and people can barely afford rent
@@leadnsteel1428high rents is not the problem, this people have an addiction problem dey don't work even at 50% below market value they can't afford it because they don't work, but I understand your concern maybe if you bring one of them to your home you're participating to solve the problem.
Little by little
All over the state.
Sooo can the Police do their job and close this camp down or what? Do people gotta complain about it?
Thank you German in Venice for covering this and Thank you LAPD for cleaning up Echo Park. I live just a couple blocks away and I am sick and tired of all the filth, human shit and needles everywhere. The drugs and garbage need to go.
About time they cleaned up the park. It should have never been allowed to get this bad in the first place....
Send them all to Gavin's neighborhood.
Maybe he can treat them to dinner at French Laundry.
Send them to their own states that gave them. Free ticket here to deal with their homeless problem.
They're going to go to poor neighborhoods and take over their homes.
If you're in a poor town. Be ready.
Just a guess but Gavin probably has a wall , fence and armed guards at the mansion....like every other open borders gun control politicians.
Nancy’s house ... tear down any decorations because statues mean nothing to her
If everyone of those protestors would just take in one "unhomed" person that put a nice dent in the problem for echo park.
@Adolfo Romero I like real clowns
same people protesting are the ones who probably complained in the first place i live in echo park everyone knows they clean the park up and the homeless move back in its a cycle
Damn you guys don’t even seem to question there’s hundreds of officers there getting paid very well to stand around like fucking idiots. If they spent even a fraction of the amount of money they used for evacuating the homeless they could easily house them.
@@doppleganger7591 No I 100% understand. Who exactly would be is housing them? Who would pay for that housing? If they did house them would that in the end cause more people to get on there feed and end up moving out on their own accord with their own income or is there a chance that it would make more homeless flock to LA because housing is being given out. At what point is to much? To say that the far majority of homelessness is not people with mental disability's or drug addict's is being very dishonest. I can tell you I don't have the answer and I will 100% own that.
Thought you were recalling your mayor? How well did that work out for ya? Lolololololol
Live in LA the homeless will be back everything will be fucked up again don’t worry this state sucks

CNN msnbc abc and many news outlets won’t broadcast this news wonder why? Thank you for uploading the video German guy
Wonder why? Its goes against their agenda. Media wants this to continue.
It’s not sad! It’s a must! You can’t even take your kids over to the park, without coming across dirty needles
In time the homeless will be back
Alot of those homeless people used to say the same thing
right, the park is not a trash can. It shouldn’t be a drug haven
It's the way they are doing it! Loaded guns? WTF?
Only a small percentage of homeless are drug addicts. Many homeless are actually suffering from mental illness and to say that all of those people needed to be displaced is inhumane. Taking someone away from where they have an established dwelling and dropping them into an unused hotel is not helping. There need to be trustworthy systems established so that people who need help, who want help, can get it. That help is followed through all the way. I've been houseless and had a full time job. Sometimes life is really hard and what someone needs is empathy.... something sorely lacking in humans today.
about damn time. Echo park is not a campground.
As someone outside looking in... California, everywhere, is a campground from the look of it.
Love listening to the guy with the Potleaf baseball cap, all I heard was, "I'm entitled, I don't need to work, I don't need to be responsible for my life, you should take care of me... because I'm entitled."

Can’t wait for it to be all cleaned up. I have so many memories at that park from when I was younger. In the past few years that park became a shit hole. Can’t wait for the reopening. Hopefully they will have park rangers patrolling when it reopens.

Yea, They need that tourists money, but are people going to really vacation in California any time soon?
No, they need space for the New immigrants

Protestors should open their hearts and open their homes for the homeless.

Taxing rich people is probably a better solution.
Lmao 😂
Realest news ever. This channel right here.
there seems to be more protestors then homeless so if each protestor wants to fix it, take a homeless person home with you and all there stuff and let them live in your back yard. Solves the problem, no more homeless on the streets.
Why don’t you take in a homeless person ?
Or should only the people who care about homeless take in homeless people , and you don’t care about them do you?
Let me explain it to you , the tax payers are paying for homeless people to be put in hotel rooms. They don’t want to pay for that and the homeless don’t want to be forced into hotel rooms just to be kicked out on the streets again in a few months. So the homeless and housed were protesting to let the homeless stay in the park, because in the park they have community and the non profits can actually help them easier. :) there you go, like your 5 yrs old.
@@usernumberinfinity4090 I should probably be a part of the solution instead of adding it to the problem they obviously don’t need any extra protesters plenty of homeless people out there to protest they need financial backing but you’re just a voice on the Internet what do you know

Nep Michael maybe some ppl myself included think this is the solution...i live in Los Angeles. I pay taxes and wouldn’t walk my 2 month old daughter at the park. That’s not fair
i don't understand how anyone could be protesting against this. It's a beautiful historic park that turned into one of the worst cess pools in the city
Just open up Hotel Cecil already next to Skid road and let them live there 😆
Just make sure it has large enough water tank to fit these people at once. Then let mayor and gov drink the water.

@Angel Hair Yes that definitely was Mr. Dick Clark the Legend Himself😊 I had the honor of seeing Mr Clark in person back in 2002 I will never forget it
Unfortunately most of these people are using and its becoming dangerous especially in places like a park where they're are children and families we need to have designated places for the homeless for sure
L.A. is full of Meth addicted zombies that were once normal people. They are paying money for there own self extermination!
While there’s a small portion of homeless who aren’t a danger to our environment, the majority are. Until we decide that real kindness is mandating sick people to get clean/ regulate their psych meds in a secure facility (for longer than a 24hr hold), the homeless epidemic will only keep getting worse. All the people who go out and feed and care for the homeless like pets to make themselves feel like they’re helping, are a huge part of the problem. They only care about the concept of freedom of choice, that we should sit back and smile while people shoot up or shout to themselves all day because they can’t get the voices to stop. That is not kindness. These people need help, and are not mentally sound to seek it out or accept it willingly.

am i the only one that thinks it's unfair that families work their entire lives, sacrificing, in order to live in LA on the edge of a beautiful park; only to have it ruined by hordes of drug addicts setting up tents for free?
Yep and then demanding free everything lol the welfare state is great ain't it
It does seem so or atmost it is so. But additionally, on a case by case, some of "the homeless". have been failed by system, unfortunately same one that 'smiled' on others...due to whichever reason e.g being smart, lucky, from right background, having right support system, even sheer hard work etc etc.
Having said that, I agree the system needs to function_ identify and work on resolving issues of homelessness...so that while some (in homeless situations) clearly have been neglected by it... it .doesn't negate/ absolve the negative effect this has on others in a community.
In the Bay Area they scream “please give them more tents and needles”
That’s worked really well.... 😫

Edit: I agree that they shouldn't be allowed to squat in a public park, but I also understand SOME, not all, of these people need professional help; they simply dont have the capacity to take care of themselves or the space they occupy. Couple that with unpredictable behavior and you have disaster waiting to happen.
Give the mentally ill, addicts and whoever else is vulnerable in that respect the services they need through proper evaluation. The rest can either put more effort into integrating into society or take advantage of existing homeless services that would now be nowhere near as burdened.
