It's actually pretty interesting that the i9 14900K has like double the performance in best case scenario, but cost nearly 6-times the price of an I3 14100F.
are you ignorant or what? the best case scenario for the i9 is in fps games where you will see like 4x difference
And games don't show cpu power, look on the CPU benchmarks, editing, creating and transfers are the difference, i don't know even 1 game that will use all cores of i9

That's not really a new thing. The old quad-core i7 processors were always close to 3x the price of an i3, but the all i7 processors were a bit more than twice as fast as their Same Generation i3 counterparts in the best case. The middle of the pack HEDT processors like the i7-3930k were 3x faster in theory but nearly 6x the price.

I havent been keeping up with the current gen CPUs, but would be interesting to see how a OCed 14100f (through base clock OC or whatever they do now with non k CPUs), would do against a 14900k. Especially considering OCing a 14900k has marginal gains at best, where as a 14100f id imagine would gain a bigger percentage increase, just like the sandybridge days.

Wow, amazing how much that CPU can hold the 4090 back when things are just right. Seems like we need a new DirectX or Vulcan to step up with some kind of a breakthrough or something like that. CPUs just can't keep up with GPU growth anymore. Another video I watched showed that even just taming the 14900k's power usage a little can hold back a 4090 a slight bit in the right titles.
They need ro bring out the Cell Broadband engine from fhe PS3 to level the playing field with gpu growth.

yep, the only right way to do CPU comparison is in 1080p, 4k results would be almost identical as it becomes more GPU bound thing. (a good example: Ryzen 5 3600 vs i9 12900K)
with 4090 at 4K and especially 4K dlss quality u will find out that u still need a fast CPU to not have a cpu bottleneck in many games...
and when the 5090 will be out and will be able to push even higher FPS in 4K then 4090 u will need even stronger CPU.
the way it works is simple, lets say u have a game that 4090 can run at 400FPS at 1080P 200FPS at 1440 and 100FPS at 4K
if u have a CPU that can run the game at 120FPS u will be limited at 1080/1440 but not at 4K.
now let's say that 2 years later u switch to 5090 that can do 200FPS at 4K at that game u will saddently be limited at 4K too.
(it's a bit over simplified sins FPS can fluctuate a lot and u will be limited at one moment and not in the other but that is the way it work)

i saw very strange in 14100f, the max clock only max at 4,493 Mhz, was it supposed to 4,7 Ghz at max? all of the test have simillar result at 4,493Mhz
4.7Ghz one Core. If more than one thread is running then the max willl obviously be lower.
4.7ghz is the max single core clock speed and 4.5ghz is the max for multi core

No the Noob Casual mode was not enabled as the CPU clock didn't drop even once after exceeding 125 watt. You should definitely enable Noob Casual mode yourself if you did not even recognize it in the video.

He is purposely running at 1080p and using DLSS to put more balance on the cpu side of things to emphasize the difference. When the GPU isn't using like 99.9% that usually means it's waiting for the CPU to send the next set of instructions. Low GPU usage = CPU bottleneck, usually. The more the game depends on the CPU or the worse the optimization is, the worse this problem will be.

I think what this shows us is that a "K" and all the HEAT that comes with isn't really worth it. A straight 14700 or 14900, (CPU's with more L2 cache than an i3), will do quite well for gaming.

Games are made different, some games are CPU-intensive and you may need faster CPU, just like Horizon Forbidden West
