I hope that you and Marissa have a super Labor Day weekend Kris. Nice to see that you updated your Ortho Files program. I did not know what it was exactly. But the scenery that you showed was pretty cool~ Rob/Boston
Ortho files are these satellite images that get put on the ground in the simulator - in the other flight sim it's built in, but for Xplane you have to make or download them so that way the ground is a picture of the real life ground - because of licensing and rights costs, Xplane doesn't have that by default so you have to do some work (otherwise the ground just does its best to put down something that would look right in the area). Worked all weekend, but Disney is coming up REAL soon!
I'd like to do this, but I have absolutely no clue how to make it work... never have been good with coding. any chance you can do a step by step tutorial? as the forum post for it also assumes one knows how to run code.
The one reason why I didn't show how to do it! :) If you are using windows, they have a bit more info on the thread of the program you need to install (python) and screen shots of opening the command prompt - but if none of that is comfortable for you, the risk of damaging what you DO have is too great, which is another reason why I didn't show too many specifics - you are better off not doing it.
If you do the conversion, do the ortho tiles still work in XP11 or does this make them unusable, since I maintain a full XP11 setup due to planes and other compatibility issues I might need to have two sets of ortho, the before and after?
You know, Steve, that is an EXCELLENT question, but since I have moved on from XP11, I can't test it. The good news is you can reverse this, so you can test on a tile and check - my guess is XP11 will just ignore the entries, but I really don't know for sure.
From what I understand, yes, but from what I also understand, that was always an overlay on top of ortho so it should have worked before. It is so tedious to actually MAKE it snow in XP12, I haven't checked yet.

I think we’re all “a little geeky” Kris 😂😂😂 Hope you and Marissa have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend 😊
I'm taking care of the farm, Marissa is competing in a horse show, and we are in single digits now. Hope you all have a great 3 day weekend as well!

Last time I tried it didn't fix the season issue on my tile. I'll give it another try
It can be a tricky program to use.

Unfortunately I don't know, since I have moved on from XP11. My suggestion is do ONE tile (make a copy) and see if the data is ignored by XP11.
Thanks. I wonder, if the ortho library is currently shared between XP11 and XP12, will this alteration make the ortho unusable for XP11?

Can you see snow in the winter?

This is great. Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching!
Isn't "I Got 99 Files" an Ice-T / Jay-Z song?
;-) Tom
You know, I really only know the Danger Mouse version from The Grey Album - without the Beatle loops the song sounds wrong to me.
Thank you for this, I just stumbled upon your videoa and I had not heard about the converter...so off to try it.
Let me know how it works for you - I just did it on my Orbx TE Ortho as well, and it worked like a charm.
