I lost it at Aaron's description of Tom Brevoort as a "depressed Buc-ee's logo."
WTF are those writers smoking on the way they think of the characters.its sad to see the X-Men crumble into the garage.
They are not hiring writers who are into it and not hiring female writers who were ever into it. I have started to look up bio's and credits of these so called comic book writers. The comic legends all male with classical/seminal works seemed to be as much a reader as writer of comics. I would love to be eductated on a female legenday comic writer who has wrote must reads? I got one female legendary writer in my novel collection Anne McCaffrey. She is up the top with all the men.
Came to the feed for the Voice of The Voiceless “Eric Breen”!
Bring back RETROSPECTIVE READS!!!
Those retrospective reads would be my new reads. As I am not buying anything really modern as a newer reader.
When is the last time a comic book caused the same reaction as bugles? The entire panel got heated and started talking at once.
Bugles are a very polarizing topic
@@WeirdScienceComics such passion!
Stuff now tastes like crap compared to the 70s and 80s. Back then people were enthusiastic about doing their job. The lunch counters in the five and dimes were the best.
Tom breevort isn't happy because his son doesn't go with his political views...lol
Why does everyone keep saying Kitty is a barista she’s a bartender 😂
Jim is Philadelphia personified, picking fights in his yard over Super Sons.
I need more Doc vs Yule. Maybe an entirely new show of just the two of them arguing over everything:
If it was me I would have done 3 books plus wolverine. The whole line would have strong 80s/90s vibes where they all didn't get along. 1. Would be x-factor led by emma frost who had to agree to lead a govt team in order to get mutants back into the us. Any mutant is potentially draftable into the team. It's them kicking off against avengers villains with emma both hating and enjoying it. 2. New mutants a more militant avengers academy put together by the us govt to funnel recruits into x-factor/the mutant division. Probably run by banshee and the lady from sword. Lots of conflict between those who think it's a good thing and the minority who dont. 3. Uncanny xmen, havok and wolverine led in Australia with massive 'there has to be someone left to save the world and to change it' but also 'what else am I going to do'
I had to work today. At least it was all overtime so I left you all for the money 🤷🏻♂️😉🤣💸so…. I got to enjoy as much as the show as I could sneak in. Great panel! So I got to say as someone who enjoyed Eve Ewing’s recent BLACK PANTHER mini (I think the T’Challa parts were great but the B-Story stuff was hard to follow with intermittently good art) so I’m giving EXCEPTIONAL X-MEN #1 a fair shake. Not buying it but I read it nonetheless🤷🏻♂️🤣 it was 36 pages of OK. It got better the last page. It’s a Chick Comic full of Heroines Being Outrageous yet it had decent story beats, rising action, decent character moments Kitty never sounds or get out of character, and it landed. It’s not a great story. Yet I’m not going to give it a hard time either. It was more of an X-Men comic than Momoko’s Ultimate has been in her 6 issues, both written by and for chicks IMHO. It’s probably a mini as well. I give it 7.5 out of ten, maybe 7.8🙏🏻
It's not that I'm an expert on all the lore, but i think the issue with Kitty was already being teased before Krakoa, and it was more pronounced in that arc, especially with Magik. And of all the problems with the krakoa era kitty's sexuality wasn't one if them. If the current comic could be disappointing it won't be because Kitty is now bi, but for posible narrative problems.
I’m just looking forward to buying the Triangle era Superman book. I wanna get more of the older comics.
BREEEEEEEEEN!
(Side note: radio dramas are cool. There's a great zombie one from years ago called "We're Alive" that I highly recommend
Jim came in HOT with that Super Sons take, too
0:44 😂
Titans of tomorrow part one and part two because we got to see Tim and the others become ruthless heroes. I definitely love Tim as Batman
Tell me you aren't getting any without telling me you aren't getting any by inserting your fetishes into a franchise originally developed for children. Not creepy at all...
Developed for children in the 60s and 70s. The audience grew up. They're parents/grandparents now.
Jim is 100% correct. The premise of Super Sons was great. The art was also great. The characterizations were great. But the actual reading experience was not that good because the plots left a lot to be desired. The antagonists were especially lame. VERY lame villains, especially in the original series. I get the love for the concept, and I share the love for the concept. But Tomasi had YEARS to spark interest, and time after time he put Damian and Jon through the absolutely LAMEST villains imaginable. It reminds me of how Greg Rucka cried about being taken off of Kate Kane Batwoman after having her all to himself for YEARS and not being able to show how the character could be great, because he wasted so much time with tedious plots and uninspiring villains. Same with Tomasi on Super Sons. Fans want to blame DC and Bendis. Okay. But Tomasi had years with the characters and offered up underwhelming plot after underwhelming plot.
100% how if feel!!!
There still could have been a great story. Dark Phoenix, Judas Contract did not happen in the 1st couple of years.
Bacon crisps are the best. And Wotsits beat Cheetos
