the original project seems to turn into something very dark and industrial. Something even more dark than the 3rd game of Rayman. At the beginnings, the rabbids were supposed to have different morphology and have random items in their arsenal (cooking utensil, food, guns, etc...) to conquer the world of rayman. I said it was something dark and industrial because the artworks of the environment are dead looking (an isle lost in a deadly sunny desert, a stormy beach, a toxic looking jungle, a cemetery (i mean, seriously, a cemetery ? In a cute world like Rayman ?), ) and there are presence of advance technology like a giant robot, flying submarines, a two legs mech, UFOs (that's kinda funny they have UFOs by the way because they are coming from underground and not from space), a train, etc... Well, all of these make us think that Rayman evolve in a cute and childish world to a industrial revolution period. Despite this depressing and scary ambience of this version, i do admit it would be awsome if they actually did this one incase of the party game we have today. For those who's asking themselves "why did hey change the project", the respond is simple. While they are making the adventure version of the game, the birth of the Wii console drag the interest of the developers and they wanted to make "Rayman raving rabbids" one of its first launching game. But there were two problems at this moment : -1 : The project were imagined to be an adventure game. And this kind of franchise ask lots of time. And of course, it's not possible to finish it so fast, despite the part they have made so far. when they heard that party games where more adapted for the players of the Wii, they decided to recycle the environment and keep the mini-games of the finished part of the development. -2 : The Wii console was a little revolution, but it has some problems. The old consoles before it were able to endure lots of details on the screen. It's wasn't the case of the Wii. So the developers decided to rework on the design of the rabbids to make them more simple by removing the fur and the different morphology. That would explain why the rabbids are all looking the same. Tell me if i missed some information. A little note : i personally like the fact that the rabbids have gained some personality over the years. At the beginning, they are all acting like violent creature who's not thinking before acting. and now, they have more alive and emotional.
Very interesting :0 I always liked the idea of rabbids being violent and as villains from Rayman's universe, but I can also understand why ubisoft changed them a lot to be better accepted in future games, the last rabbids game for the moment has been mario and rabbids spark of hope, and I can really notice how much charisma they have given to the rabbids at this point to perhaps be more likable characters for the public.
@@framq1382 indeed. This game is pretty easy, but the characters are just funny, goofy and pretty cute in a way. Speaking of it, there are informations I didn't mentioned because it wasn't part of the game. At the beginning, the rabbids were well accepted by the players. But after, they became disgusted of it because of their massive exploitation by Ubisoft (that's ironic because the rabbit is knows to give birth a lot of baby). After the game, they increase their popularity with pictures of themselves illustrating sport events and movies in social medias like Twitter or Facebook. Like Assassin Creed, the company decided to release a Rabbid game every year, throwing Rayman away progressively. After the big ears characters got independant, lots of games continue to see the day, but their gameplay become less fun and poor in content, at a point that these things are just here to make money. I'm not gonna say everything for the reason that Ubisoft did everything with the rabbids, but we can say that this decision caused fans of Rayman an allergy of these characters.
its so surreal to see how much this concept aligns with the prototype that leaked out recently, Rayman was designed from the very beginning to scale these large open environments with Rabbids on his tail. it's amazing to see more and more of the original teams vision resurface, even a decade later
It must have been sad as a rayman fan in 2006, looking at what this game could’ve been while slow music plays in the background. If only this is actually what we got instead of a minigame collection, but oh well, the past is the past.
well at least the prototype for how the game was originally is actually available now that concept art of the giant mushrooms can actually be seen as a hub world in the prototype
Could I request a playthrough of the final challenge in the game, the World Eclecticism Championship, or at least know what the minigames are in it? I'm operating a wiki and this information is quite urgently needed.

I noticed a couple of backgrounds from Lilo and Stitch from those photographs at the beginning of the video.
I wish all the concept arts could been use for the cancelled rayman 4.
I agree Mr.Feather130
wait are you talking about the one where its just like the game but the worlds taken over by rabbits? if it is then that was the prototype build
TEST TEST yeah that’s the one before it become the game we all know and kind of love
@@Mr.Feather130 actually a piece of artwork shown in pack 2 resembles a world that’s playable in the leaked prototype of this game
@@FulsomeFrog oh yeah i have heard about the prototype of rwyman 4 being leaked online which shows how it could of been

R.I.P headphone uesers XD
0:14 Was this drawn over a screenshot of Lilo and Stitch?
I think they used stitch as a point of reference when convincing the rabbids.
I like rabbids
same son
I got chills
These Rabbids are probably inspired by Stitch from Lilo and Stitch
I think they were mostly inspired by the killer rabbits that was a scene in Monty Phyton: The Holy Grail.
0:42 Bat Rabbid
it remind me of a vehicle in star wars.
@@eliottdeletraz97I see but with Batman

Willmo Rolfe
Sorry, I don't have the game anymore and I can't remember what those minigames were.
Oh, that's okay, thanks anyway!
@@cedricb.7664 how to get this concept art is by getting high scores on any minigame in score mode.
