I dropped out in 2019 and wanted nothing more to get back into school and become a nurse. Started over with prereqs in 22 and I got my nursing school acceptance today while working in the ER🤗
Hello, I’m about to enter my first semester in nursing school. Without your videos on TikTok about dosage calculations I don’t know where I would be. I appreciate your videos and you sharing your experience about nursing. Keep on making your amazing content!!
Awww, thank you, Logan! It's comments like this that make me appreciate content creation even more! Thank you for all the support, and good luck in school!!
Hey Casey, you don’t understand how much this video help me realize that despite everything that I’ve been through I academically wise that I can still become a nurse because you literally explained the situation that I went through my sophomore year I was literally in the same boat as you still in the same boat Right now in the process of applying to colleges and I did get rejected from one college because of my grades and right now I am in the process of another college and from the looks of it it seems like it’s going well. I just pray that I get in to any college Because I really want to be a nurse so thank you for making this video and giving me hope
I got emotional reading this! I'm so glad sharing my story could inspire you. You might have to take a non-traditional route, but you CAN do this, babe! I hope your applications go well! Keep me updated, and let me know if you need anything!
Yay! I’m so happy that you got into nursing school even with a low GPA. Grades aren’t everything and you seem like an amazing person, it would make my day if you were my nurse. Here in NYC tons of people with 4.0s get rejected I’m glad you have the opportunity where you are to be closer to your dreams ❤
I want to be a Nurse and my undergrad GPA was very low. I graduated with a C average GPA. I'm a teacher which is a very terrible field. I was a caregiver to my grandmother for 5 years up until she passed away. Now I am at a community college. working towards becoming a Medical Assistant and after that I want to apply to an LVN program. To be a Medical assistant I didn't have to worry about GPA requirements at all. It was easy for me to get in. And also with getting into the LVN program there is NO GPA requirements but I get extra points towards have training as a CNA or MA. Well I'm in a medical assistant program and I am doing great in that program. Yeah getting into Nursing school is so competitive nowadays. Glad that you got into Nursing school that is awesome. It's been a hurdle for me as well. I prefer to work my way up and just do it that way. :)
thank you so much for making this video I'm in the same boat as you were. congratulations on overcoming those challenges, you're so inspiring to me! I live in california and ADN programs are so competitive and im left with going to a private university that costs over 100 grand hahah. pray for me sis!
You can do this, babe! I had to go to a private school as well... but look into scholarships and grants!! There are so many available for nurses! Also look into accelerated ADN programs so you can get done faster and start working sooner. Also some hosptials will pay your tutuion if you'll sign a contract that you will work for them after you graduate. There are so many options ☺️
I’m 21. Trying to get into ADN programs here in southern Cali. I have one more year of pre reqs (this fall, and next spring) I’ll be 22 turning 23 when applying to ADN programs. Praying I will get in with my A and B’s in my pre reqs and overall 3.0 GPA. I’m also going to get my CNA license to get extra points.
i have a few F’s and 2-3 “W” (withdrawal) but i have taken all these classes again and have received 80s or higher on them during my second try. i worked as a CNA for 10 months or so, but currently taking a break from it to focus more on my schoolwork bc it was getting mentally draining and my grades were starting to suffer. i’m in my last year of prereqs and most likely will have to take microbiology again in the spring semester. i’m also studying the best i can on my TEAS to get a high competitive score since my transcript doesn’t look too good with all the letters from the alphabet lol (W, F, A, B, C). im getting to the point where the constant doubt is in my head. will i stand a chance in getting accepted into nursing school? what will my backup plan be? I also feel like i pressured myself at the beginning of my college years which led to burnout. but im trying to do better i just don’t know if it’ll be good enough 😣
I felt the same way when applying to nursing school. Don't let your GPA hold you back! There are a lot of people in your position, and that's why I made this video to highlight that. YOU CAN DO THIS!! If being a nurse is your dream don't give up on that!
Thank you for giving me hope. Did you take chemistry? I guess i have to take it or try to pass the CLEP. Im thinking of applying to nursing programs to move out earlier and bc i would like to serve as well.
Hi Casey, So I am currently taking AnP 1 and am lined up for AnP2, bio chem, and organic chem online while I'm getting ready to apply to a few bachelors programs throughout illinois with a 2.92 GPA. These classes are the first college classes i've taken since 2019 when I got a bachelors of science from Illinois State with a tech major, so getting back into the academic mindset and actually studying has been really hard for me, especially alongside holding a 40-50 hr/wk construction job. I'm struggling with retaining information when trying to read through textbook chapters even when I take notes. It really feels like i'd need to make AnP a full time job to actually soak up all the information and memorize it to be competitive. Do you have any advice on retaining information when studying, especially when medical terminology is so foreign and you need to know so many specific little things and interactions? I may honestly quit working soon to focus on getting better grades on these pre-req's, so that should help. Best, Mike
First off, Mike, what you're doing isn't easy, so you should be impressed with yourself. I have several study tips on my TikTok. I've found the best way to retain info is to write it out. The physical action of writing, I've found, helps the information stick. I'll my questions for myself, venn diagrams or concept maps.
@@CaseySmithOfficial Thank you for the response I appreciate you! I'll try writing things out more. Since making my last comment it has gotten a little easier and the content is making more sense. I downloaded Anki and have been mixing pre-made decks with ones I've made myself and it's been helping. Thank you again and I wish you the best with your schooling!
since I'm currently attending I dont share my school name for privacy. But I got to school in missouri and you can see schools requirements on their website.
Letting everyone know that if you get on academic probation or kicked out of school, you can appeal the decision. Write a paper on what’s going on and they may appeal the decision.

I'm glad to hear you're not letting anything stop you from becoming a nurse! If I didn't get into my program, this was the route I was going to take.
I’m definitely in the same shoes as you. This video is very motivating . Thank you for this ❤
Love hearing from others that are on the same journey as me! We gotta keep each other motivated ☺️

That sounds like a great plan, Daniel! Really focus on your classes and try to get the best grades possible.

When you say associates degree program for nursing schools, do you mean ADN programs?
Yes, and ADN is an associate degree in nursing ☺️
I am Nigerian with low GPA in non-science course and I am interested in going to nursing school, how do I go about it?
What nursing school do you currently attend ? And also congrats very inspirational video ❤
I’m so glad you like my video ☺️☺️For privacy I don’t share what school I currently go to.
Thank you for giving me hope. Did you take chemistry? I guess i have to take it or try to pass the CLEP. Im thinking of applying to nursing programs to move out earlier and bc i would like to serve as well.
I had to take the entire chemistry sequence for my biology degree. It was challenging, but doable!
Great talk… thx!
Of course! Hope it helped you ☺️

For safety I don’t say what school I attend
I relate to your story, please tell me what school that is…
