This is a followup video from my previous installation video seen here.
• How to install window ...
Some comments were focused on the fact that window AC units are not sturdy enough and the ACe Brace will help fix that.
This is a great product for any window AC unit especially if you have children who might push on the AC unit.

This is so expensive now. Any other indoor braces similar to this?
This should come standard with all ac units. Makes it a lot less scary when installing the ac too I would imagine.
No kidding. This is great!
I just checked. It's $75.99+tax. That's a bit much for what it is.
I wish the ACe Brace was closer to $30. I'm not spending $75 for one. It looks like a great device and it does its job well.
I'll just go buy a piece of steel bar and make something similar. If your making it for a single window you don't need the adjustability. 2 bends, 2 twist, and drill 4 holes.
It's now 90 pretty soon nobody will buy it if is it going to be that costly
Thank you! I needed this and will give me peace of mind. My home is historic (over 100 years old) and I only want to cool where I'm mostly at, not the whole house in the summer since most of the time the nice breeze goes throughout my whole home cooling it. I don't want the window units to fall on my rescued dogs in the backyard and dog run. Thanks again for posting and on behalf of my dogs too! 👍🐾
Great video and description! Very clear. And will allow the window to be freely opened/closed with the AC unit secure. Shut the AC and open the window whenever you want!
This is perfect! I'm allowed to put holes in the wall as long as I fix them and use the same paint as my landlord but I'm not allowed to put holes in the window frame itself.
Yes, the ace bracket seems to be a good idea compared to having a loosely mounted AC unit in the window. Your explanation for the need (importance) of the ace bracket is well taken. However, I agree with others that the price of $70 may be high for many people in these times of economic hardships. Where did you buy your ace bracket?
$29.99 plus shipping tops.
Agreed. I'd pay $30 for one but not more. I'll try to make some similar out of a piece of steel bar.
@@jTempVids agree with you as well. $75 is quiet extreme. It’s a great idea, but no way for that price. I don’t have steel, but do have some leftover storm door edge trim 🤷♂️. Maybe I can try that I mean it would be for a small ac for the attic, lol
$70, way too much money for basically a metal bar. Thanks for the review.
I had a ac unit fell six stories it did not hurt anyone. This is well worth the price
It's a telescoping support brace that fits many window openings and also creates a slope that allows for condensation to drain. And it's been tested for use.
Yeah sure until someone kicks in your damn AC unit and steals your computers, electronics and anything else they want.
Guess i am not understanding how the unit could fall out anyway if the sash is braced down on either side against opening at the top of the sash.
@@EliteOnTheBeat better eliminate all of your windows. Those can be broken and (kicked in) too.
Can go for a 1/2 in. x 1 in. x 36 in. Plain C-Channel ($10 at hardware stores) or 36 in. x 1 in. x 1/16 in. Steel Square Tube (about $12) if the window width is less than 3', cut the window length and use it instead. (I just sawed a 1 in. x 4 in. x 6 ft. wood board iying in garage ).

@@challo213 if you google it you can see that.
now i gotta figure out how to cut that lol
Thank you. I appreciate knowing about and how to install the ace brace 👍
$70 for what should be a $15 bracket? Ridiculous that anyone would pay anywhere near that price for a bracket. I'll pass thanks.
Big help, excellent for reference especially the side views. Thank you.
Having to screw and unscrew fixtures on a wooden window frame will damage the frame over time. Bad idea.
Vinyl, even worse. 😞
What if it's a vinyl window?
I just cut a p s of wood put light foam on both side .screw ac to wood.
Bring down window.
Measure an cut smaller pcs of wood .install vertically on either side.
Put foam to reduce airflow.
This video definitely came in handy!! Thanks alot!!
Aren't you still drilling into the metal frame at the sides?
Great demonstration ! Thank you
How do you secure your AC without screwing into a metal frame? By using this pole and screwing it into said metal frame…
I'd like to know how the hell you stop rain from getting in through the cheap flimsy paneling. I'm looking at cutting plexiglass to the outside of the paneling and caulking it.
Thanks for the information 👍
You still have a lot of weight sitting on a flimsy plastic or aluminum frame on the bottom. I wouldn't trust anything more than than a light 5,000 BTU AC on a modern window. It's a shame they don't have something like this for the base too. Doesn't the thickness of this effect the tilt the wrong way? The AC needs to be tilted slightly so it drains properly.
I'd likely be removing this unit every winter. Any way to keep the sides of this brace in place so that I don't have to keep unscrewing? I'm guessing not though, which would make this pretty useless.
Nice but was i reading it right $70. Could just pull the windows down and cut piece on wood to fit top of window to window frame that would prevent window from being raised without marking up window
$75.99
this is actually a good idea!
I have 100 year old windows with the rope and counter weights inside the vertical sections , my question is how do you latch the window locked shut? Thanks for any reply.
We had these previously. There are very few things you can do since these windows usually get replaced. We drilled in the side of the window at the point you don't want it to go up further. The hole should be a little larger then the nail and inserted a long nail that stuck out to prevent the window from opening further. This allowed easy removal when we took the ac down and wanted just fresh air. You can also just screw it in if you don't plan on removing the ac.
Cool 👍🏾 thanks for sharing 👌🏾
Great video!!
I couldn't quite see your window sill. Is it flat and does it have enough depth for the ac to set flat on the sill? I've never owned a modern window but i want to replace one 50yo wood, thin glass, window with an new insulated one. I get your tips on supporting the top - i just need to be sure the sill is flat like my old window. Can you help me out on that?
Thanks
My thing with screwing in. Is that you have to screw out. When you do this the screw holes become weaker when you repeat this process. Sooner or later. This whole idea ends.
Screw in.... screw out.... PAUSE
So what if you need to tilt the a/c unit to let water drip out?
Seems like you own the James Charles pallet
thank you for the great work.
Where can I get this. Says not for sale. Need one badly!!!!
ive got a 21 inch window and this ac just barely fits in with the side panels, wasnt hard to figure out installing just need a screwdriver and it kicked in pretty fast
Thank you
The building complex i live on they require that for every AC installation. They dont want people putting AC themselves.
Can I install a unit without the side panels if I seal around it? I want the biggest unit I can get but I only have a 22" window.
Would an ace brace help with a first floor apartment? Worried about intruders pushing in a AC unit
Me too
Do I still need the L brackets at the bottom of the window frame?
Vinyl window?
I made a brace from 16 ga? angle.
i am in canada where do i purchase it
How do those side shields hold up against dirt and bug?
this unit has a FLANGE!!!!!!!!!!!

(Ace Brace is currently not available for sale, see link above for other similar options)
link does not work takes you to silverware bamboo crap
You only show what you want to be seen , let see the outside part .
Not the help I need and I don't want holes in the window framing. Also, no help on how to keep the side panels in place top and bottom.
Cool beans 👍
Acebrace didn't fit my unit
Where can I buy these?
I have the slidding window???
It didn't show how the side panels stay closed. I have cats! They would easily open the side panels and run out into the busy street I live on. Besides, my accordion flaps are old and wouldn't stay closed like these did at all.
They seem flimsy asf I'd put wood in the sides probably I see thats what alotta other ppl do as well unless it has to have those.
Wait has this bracket always been nearly $200? (cad) lol. 😵💫
I’m trying to find someone who will address how to stop rain from coming in through the bottom of the accordion cracks. Does no one else deal with this!!??!! Seems like it would be a pretty standard issue. This installation is so unrealistic. There’s all kinds of cracks in his install. 🤦♀️ I’m so frustrated booo!!
Great products, but holy cow! $70?!!!!! seriously?!
75 bucks over the 300 bucks for AC unit i dont think so.
where do you buy that??
What size is it
@@fabianjohnson7313 I already bought one
70 bucks... not happening.
Is it just me or does he sound like David dobrik
The gratuitous Butt shot at 2:22 was completely unnecessary. I was horrified. It's not like you are Kim Kardashian. Then, it would have been totally fine. I will send you my emotional trauma medical bills !!
$75 . Ouch!
VERY HIGH price! Should be $15 to $20 MAX for this. RIDICULOUS PRICE for otherwise a great product!
It is made in the USA (a reason for the high cost) and is meticulously designed to fit over the flange and slope the AC unit outside. The steel is thick and was tested not to deflect. So this goes into the cost.
Tell that to a dope head burglar see how fast they can get in.
How are they going to climb the wall?
If a burglar wants to break into your home he will do so no matter what.. -Exhomeburglar
Thats expensive as Fu**
90 bucks on Amazon a complete total rip-off not even worth 90 bucks typical greed in full force
buy 'like new' for $40
Looks hood, wish there was a way to not screw in the wall
It does not necessarily need to be screwed in. This provides additional protection against burglary and pushing the unit out. But the AC would be secure without the screws.
