I just look at length, height and width of bags before buying. This is much more useful to me than liters (or potatoes). I do love the creativity though. If you stay with the potatoe concept, I suggest singing the "one potatoe, two potator, three potatoe more" song while tossing them into bags (assuming that you can sing, Klint).
First; thanks for a great channel. On this topic my vote go to measure volume in liters. Those potatoes you have are very big compared to what is normal where I live. Also our potatoes vary a lot in size here. Measuring only the main compartment is fine though. There is another channel (OneBagTravels) where he measures liters with “packing peanuts”. I like that a lot.
This idea is brilliant and hilarious at the same time. The only problem I see is that ideally you should use something that you could keep in your studio so you don’t have to buy more of something that spoils eventually.
Loved this and other videos from your channel!! I have more than a couple bags because of your channel!! Will you do the review of the banzai? Maybe a comparison with the quick draw and side hustle?? Thanks for the great work!
An example of literage discrepancy is packs such as the Evergoods CPL24. It's rated at 24L albeit the Alpha One Niner Whitley's (rated 20L) main compartment is larger and packs more. This is because Evergoods accounts for the other compartments for its literage. Another example is of The Brown Buffalo 21L. When I had it, it definitely fit around a 26L over a 21L. Same goes for their 19L pack fitting around a 21L instead of the stated 19L. This is definitely because of the design of having one main compartment and only two other zippers.
@@Kwisss yeah this is a good explanation. I also think bag design and compartment space plays a part in this too. Like the fjallraven’s 20L vs 28L bag. The main compartment is about 5” wide but in the 20L the laptop sleeve takes up a chunk of that 5” space while in the 28L you get the full 5” space to pack in because the laptop sleeve has its own section. The small top pocket also takes up space in the main compartment to the 20L when packed out but it doesn’t really impact space in the 28L when packed out.
Thank you for talking about this topic, it is really confusing and not useful for back companies to state the leaders when it’s clearly always off even based on their own measurements. The problem I see with potatoes, although I love you and I think it’s a great idea and funny and it’s so you, but the problem I see is that there are different sizes of potatoes. It might be more useful to use golf balls since they’re pretty standard .
Agree! But maybe not potatos. Unrelated, kinda related. Please help. Looking for a sling bag that has the organization of a CT5 but can also fit a Hobonichi Techo in a Lochby folio. Tried the Aer Tech Sling 2 but it doesn't have as much organization and the space is more partial to flat stuff than potatos or pouches. Thanks if you can help! Essentially, I'm looking for a sidekick to my CT Sun Bear.
A little tongue and cheek, but what do you think of this problem?
I like it lol.
Love it!! Hahahaha!! Ping pong balls???
@@dawnmcelligott1334 that's a good idea!
This made me laugh 😂. Thank you! Sound alternate formula.👍
😂😂

I don't think I will really do potatoes - just shedding some light on a problem the industry needs to solve 😅👍🏻👊🏻

Truth. I might switch to baseballs

I have a Helikon Tex Bergen - it's a lovely bag, tough as nails and very very comfortable. It's advertised as an 18L.. but it's huge. 🤣
Rushfaster uses 6 packs of beer but one issue with that is the shape of the bag in relation to the object you put in it
Smart though!
@@ThePerfectBag yeah at least it gives you some idea.

😂 you have a point
I learned that mistake with my High Sierra XBT TSA Backpack. It looks HUGE but each compartment doesn’t really have that much space.
I see that Azo Equipment on the left. You thinking of reviewing it? Or selling it even!
I will def eventually get around to reviewing it

Is that a5 size?
@@ThePerfectBag yes!
These potatoes are very shiny! If you love shiny potatoes you should leave a like
👍🏻🤣 mash that like button!
@@ThePerfectBag Haha excellent 🤣
Golf balls would be good to use.
true! Or ping pong balls.
Russets or Reds?
If not in liters how else do you measure? Potato’s come in different sizes so we would have to standardize potato size first.
Agreed 👍🏻 let's pick a standard potato size and then petition the bag companies
Your premise is valid, but your analogies and conclusions might need a little more work/thought. LOL...thanks for this morning's chuckle!
😂😂😂🤣
Why not breakdown the space of each area? Like 20L Main, 2.5L front pocket,1L top pocket etc.
The consistency is bad. GR136 for example - they are huge for their stated size.
