I know this is an older video, but I loved it. Reminded me why I love this tool. Good tips for sure, thank you kind sir!! Your video is a bit slow, but that is good, I did not know that the dremell blades were compatable, but for the price! Kobalt all the way. I wish you had a video of how the porcaline blade works, but I will search more. Thank you so much for this video. New to home projects and such and was on a purchase freinze when I origanally got this. a reminder video was just what I needed to reinforce why I got this product! I have used it so much, and with your video reminds me of what else I can do with it. So thank you! I appreciate it!
Your videos are the greatest. I have this tool & the grinder. I also have a lathe & lots of scrap T6 aluminum rod. I know some may have a lathe. If the OD of any brand blade is workable and the ID is larger I turn a small arbor type adapter for a tight fit. Just got to pay attention to max safe RPM. Did I mention I love Kobalt 24V tools ? 💕👀
To fully press the lock button down, the Allen wrench may need to click a few times while rotating. Hope this helps the next person. Otherwise, very helpful video.
I switched from Dremel Ultra Saw to this and absolutely love it! There isn't any grinding wheels for this except the super expensive 3.9" Kobalt ones with a 11mm arbor or the 3" ROTO discs. I got a 5/8's to 10mm adapter bushing and ran a 7/16 bit through it! Now I can run the really cheap blue fire 4" discs with 5/8ths arbors!
Josh Seymour No, I have to date used this for mostly wood and have been very happy with the small saw. I have used the cutoff wheel for cutting thin sheet metal and 1/4" round stock with ease. What thickness of metal do you plan on cutting?
I bought this and used it to cut some metal landscape border and it worked great...I recommend this tool!
donovanwaldrop1 THANKS!
I love it with the porcelain blade that comes in the 3 pack. Whenever Kobalt rebrands something they do it cheaper.
I have to agree with you Derek. But they still keep great quality.

Thank you so much, you're welcome 👌 I've never used the porcelain blade as I haven't done that type of work yet.
Thanks for the excellent review. Just bought a 6 piece kobalt starter kit. Can’t wait to get started!
David Mack THANK YOU!
Thank you for the review. I am looking for something specifically to cut thin stock. This seems like the ideal tool for that.
Quantalume You're welcome! Yes, this is excellent for thin stock.
I have one , i love it, steel, tin, wood , tile, block ,pipe of any material,it works greats for everything

Thank you 👌
Dang , you didn't cut any metal. That's what I was waiting for as that's what I mostly need from a tool like this.
james R I have used it for sheet metal but not my main purpose for this tool.
This reminds me of the Dremel ultra saw. They seem almost identical other than corded vs. battery.
I agree Mike's Garage.
excellent overview, thank you!
Thank you for those kind words Bradley!

Preston Thank you for that information!
@@starastronomer Find it on Amazon: Amana Tool - BU-125 High Precision Saw Blade Bore Reduction Bushing 5/8" To 10mm
@@preston1614 Excellent, thanks for this information. Very helpful.
I would love to see a video showing how this is done.
can i use this tool with flap discs and sanding discs to use as a grinder?
No
How well would this work in your opinion if i held this with one hand and hold a piece of wood (bamboo) in the other and cut it
No issue whatsoever Nate C.
How do you change the blade
Was abt to buy the kobalt blades for my dremel 20V max when i saw Dremel US700 Ultra-Saw 6-Piece Cutting Wheel Kit is selling for $19.99 on amazon now
Delvin Goh THANKS so much for the heads up! Just ordered two sets. Great deal.
I can not get the blade bolt to nudge at all once the arbor is locked
I’m afraid I’m gonna push it to hard and break it
Not sure why. As long as the allen wrench fits good. Are you turning it the correct direction?
Thanks for the review. Unfortunately, I tried to use this to cut porcelain tile and it wouldn't even knick it. Maybe it only cuts thinner tile.
Doyen 86 Not sure, I've never used it on tile.
Hey can this be used as a grinder? I need something to sharpen bush hog blades. Is there a grinding blades that fits this? Thanks
jason mattox No
@@starastronomer Thanks bud. Nice video.
Same font "brushless", same many parts... Will 24V aku greenworks fit?
Tomaski Not sure I understand your question?
@@starastronomer no nothing. I just own few of 24 and 40 V greenworks tools and will buy some kobalt, if my batteries fits 👍
@@Tomaskii Okay, thanks.
Have you cut much metal with this? If so does it work well?

@@starastronomer Thank you for the reply I appreciate it! And I plan on using it for auto body purposes. Mainly body panels and sheet metal.
@@joshseymour107 You should be fine especially how thin the metal is in today's cars :)
Technically couldn’t you cut 2x4’s with this? You’d just need to flip the 2x4 over right? It may not be exactly precise but it can get the job done
AK Maestro Of course not, it's not made to cut 2x4's either. It is great for cutting within the range the saw is designed for.
@@starastronomer for just diy projects around the house? I don’t see any reason why I couldn’t cut 2x4’s with it
Did it come with a battery & charger?
kicknsystm No battery or charger is included with this tool.
Darn, I bought the Dremel Tool last year. I did not know about the Kobal version. Too late !
Barry
Barry Good news is you can buy the Kobalt brand blades as they are cheaper than the same Dremel brand.
So I guess this cannot cut a 2x4 because it is not deep enough.
Correct...
I was curious will that cut through a 2x4 , I really enjoyed your video
Chris Turner No, the blade is too small for a 2x4.
Thanks for this video, the instructions that came with the saw aren't worth shit!!!
Steve Trenchard You're welcome.
😱😱😱😱!!😍😍😍😍😍❤❤
蔡豆花 Thank You!
