Haven't had the pleasure of fishing an NRX+ yet but my old NRX 901S is the king of casting and keeping fish pinned under any circumstance, it's a hair jig dream!

I loved this video, I would recommend using an SJR for jerkbaits and topwater. The JWR imo is the king of bottom contact. But anyway, I hope my son enjoys fishing when he's old enough to fish like your son does.

Just ordered the NRX+ DSR really was stuck on the 852s but the MAG action of the DSR got me. Really wanted the Mag action for treble minnow style baits as well. Really just wanted THE Drop shot rod to end all rods. Already got the Windbuster just waiting on the NEW P5 Addermine

Nice rod! Where is this at? Looks like Gila river but can't really tell. Fairly new to the area and I'm trying to find a place where I can catch smallies.
So question on a casting nrx+. Would the 854 jwr be good for 1/2 oz jig with trailer for docs and close quarters jig fishing? Or is the 894 just plain the the best to go with
Guys, what is your thought about casting vs. spinning rods in lures weight from 5-7 grams(1/4), will you go with spinning set up or BFS? Thanks.

Can you buy a second hand NRX+ and still be able to use Gloomis rod warranty? Or do you need to be the original owner with original purchase receipt?
I do have the G Loomis 852 s with a Stella, but I've been wanting to get the megabass windbuster. I don't use my 852 for much reaction baits. That's what I wanted to get the wind Buster for. I do have the Orochi Ronnin for my smaller jerkbaits, and love using a spinning rod for them. I like my G Loomis 852 s for wacky rigged senko, light shaky heads and small swimbaits like a 2.8 keitech. I have the megabass landsat as my main drop shot rod. Glad you guys did this video like hearing your thoughts about the rod.

I have the 852s and love it, except for one thing. It is very fast and doesn’t skip a bait as well as my previous Conquest 842s. Do you think the 842s might be a better all around rod?
I definitely think the 842 is the better all around rod, and the 852 is the better bottom contact specific rod!

852 is more versatile. 872 is a big water jig rod/tube rod
What is the most sensitive 7'6" and up spinning rod for bottom contact?
Try “The One”, Daiwa Steez AGS.
You mentioned this rod is not very forgiving. How would you compare it to the NRX+ 842s?
842 is more of an all around use rod, and the 852 is a bottom contact specific rod

Works amazingly well. In both the casting and spinning version (spinning probably a little better for wacky free spool drop)

I have both the NRX+ 852 and the Windbuster, and the WB is for sure heavier. To get it to balance right for my liking, I'm now running a JDM Certate LT2500-H on it. Anything like a Vanford or lighter and I don't like how it feels. The NRX+ however, you can put whatever you want on it as long as it is a lighter reel and it feels fantastic. Very noticeable difference in combo weights.
Side note: 2016 Destroyer Addermine is still the GOAT in my eyes. All the rods I own and nothing has taken that rod's spot at the top of my spinning reel setups. Maybe if the P5s had a similar grip... I have a love/hate relationship with the new grip design.

I can’t wait to see the P5 Addermine arrive at my house. Personally i don’t have a problem with the P5-grip. But maybe it’s because I’m a handcrafts-man and used to position my hands/ fingers in many different ways. The FLYSSA has similar grip i guess so that would NOT be a pleasure for you. 😟😟
@@thehookuptackle_usa, since Megabass knows how the majority of us feel about the Grips, why don't they give us what we want? How about the old style grip, but in total Carbon even?

Thank you! I have a 822 DSR NRX+ dsr and was debating on picking up this rod. Love the grips on new NRX+. I think you guys are starting to realize the p5 grips are meh 😂😂😁 Jk haha. Great video.
If you have the 822DSR for Nose hook stuff, and the 852S JWR for weedless stuff, you’d have almost everything covered!

Not a good jerkbait rod. Have lost too many fish and bend out too many hooks. I use 10lb for Vision 110 and 8lb on Vision 110 jr. Other than that the rod is pretty decent.
