In my opinion, Stronghold Crusader 2 would be better in classic, but improved 2D graphics, with new buildings, new units, resources, and some completely new gameplay features. I don´t get why Firefly tries to catch up with the 3D graphics, when they are (and Stronghold is) the best in simple, but amazing graphics. So sad about the evolution of one of the best strategies ever created..

@@squakrock There may not have been Muslim armies marching on Europe anymore, but the Muslim slave traders were still looking to acquire new stock...That's why there were so many castles. Not enough time to make walled in cities between raids.

I have nothing against Muslims today, in 2014 (other than the immigration which I am against), but get your facts correct (the guy speaking in the video)....
The Crusades started because the Muslim rulers were harassing Christian pilgrims to Jerusalem, and oppressing the native Christian population of the Levant (in 1100, the Levant still had a Christian majority). Or, at the very least, this was the official Casus Belli - but we all know what wars are really about: to gain resources and money.
Muslim Jihads were the same. They used "spread of the faith" as the Casus Belli, but in reality, they only wanted to gain access to the resources that were being owned by their enemies. In the end, neither the Islamic Jihads nor the Christian Crusades were about religion - in the end, it all comes down to money.
Either way, I loved the original Stronghold Crusader, I hope this one will be good too. The graphics look rather goofy though.

Hey ! great game. Really happy you people did such a nice comeback ! been stronghold fan since the beginning ! I can say, we are so happy with this game, 'back to basic' just how a real time stratagy/castle build should be ! THANKS A LOT !
but I do have 1 question, Is it still possible in stronghold crusader 2 to switch your 'english' lord to a 'dessert' lord ? So that your buildings get a cultural diffrence look as well ? like the towers and the church ? I rememmber in the first game that was possible, but I haven't found the option in 2 yet.

Freedom was Something People Do In The Crusader Wars (Slaves,Captives,Prisoners,Tortured People,Peasants That Does Not Have Money,Clothes,And Food,Even The Crusaders,They Wanted To Be Free From Their Sins Like Peter The Hermit Did
I was a little skeptical about the female character at first, but the historical backup is encouraging and relieving. In addition, I was unsure about the "special attacks" of units, and worried that this may add too much of a fantasy feel to the game, however, the arrow volley and dig in moves are much more realistic than the examples provided earlier. Very excited for the game, can't wait to get my pre-order!
What about Lady Seren from SH2?
Fighting looks a little bit soft and slow compared to original Crusader, there you could see the weight/force. I hope they change that before release.
Not even a single assassin was seen in the sultana castle, even when walking into her castle.. I thought she would be a good opponent but almost the same as the shah...

It would be nice if firefly team does some research or at least see history from a person who comes from those region. The more I see new stronghold, the more I am losing interest in it. I have a feeling I am going to be not liking the final game much :(. Just my thought.

Simple question, in video presentations, they were using a lot of 1v1 map. So in Stronghold2, the 8v8 maps...are they going to be larger than SH1?
They said that are gonna be large, and extra large maps, so i thins so, yea :D

i think this isn't second delay first was from 2013 december to 2014 march, second - from march to 2014 summer, third - from summer to september 2 and the last one from september 2 to september 23.

Crusaders came slaughtering evryone no mater religion, check history and do not speak stupid things next time. Especialy check sige of Jerosolima and what those "hereos" did after that.
War was not even caused by religion it was becouse of conflict of pope and Emperor. Pope decided he needs suces to win this conflict and soo he started crusade.

SH2 and 3 were horrible buggy messes. But this actually looks like it might be decent.

It would makes sense to think the crusaders as the bad guys as the reason that some of them wouldn't go with honor and justice but would support torture, cruelty,slavery and the irony that they pretty much do things that of the opposite on what told in Christianity causing Xenophobia between the two sides having an endless repetitive crusade.
Calling someone an heretic just because of criticism or chanting the annoying praise of Deus vault makes the facts that the reason why our religion being criticized do the faults of the western european world explain much that the masses desecrated the religion doing the irony things that they shouldn't do. Oh the hypocrisy today! same goes to the other side that they ruin the image of the one they worship the most by doing the ironic thing that Muhammad didn't agree to spread that kind of message to convert someone to there own, likely there own antichrist the dajjal must have trick some few individuals on believing it was the one who worship but too late for not realising the evil one.

Stronghold is dead. Been a fan from the begging and I'm so sad to see it go this way... (Will still buy the game though...)

***** i agree. and the game is quite challenging. it's harder than shc1. the core gameplay hasn't changed. the way you play has tho. but in a good way. you dont just go to the rat with 30 assassins, you need some more brute force. and i like how they changed that. and the new units are very creative and fun to play with :)

I'm a big fan of SH and for me the peak was SH2. I can understand your dislike of fantasy elements in SHL, and while I don't hate it, I'll admit SH3 had some flaws, but I don't think that it's dying. Personally, I'm very excited for SHC2.
Fan since Stronghold 1 came out. After all those years here I'm hyped for the new game and pretty sure I'm not alone. Dying? I don't think so.

Yep, as I commented, neither were really bad or good guys. There are no bad guys. But to say one is and the others are good guy "freedom" fighters, is just wrong.
