A classic character returning from the original Stronghold: Crusader, the Saladin is essentially the good guy in Stronghold Crusader 2. After blasting through the Crusader campaign you will be invited to play as Saladin in his fight to take back the holy lands from Richard the Lionheart and the invading Crusader hordes. Without spoiling anything you can expect to encounter a few familiar faces on your road to confront Richard. Some will be friendly with others out to get you, so keep your guard up and exact revenge when necessary!

0:54 "His economy isn't the most efficient one in the game"... Well why the fuck not? His economy was always the best in the original Stronghold Crusader, and it still should be. This is SALADIN. Arguably the greatest strategist throughout the entire crusades. He should be damn near impossible to beat. He should have no weaknesses in his strategy.

Something's not right: the engineers survived their catapult's destruction.
I don't like the idea of having to chase down trebuchet's and catapult's engineers after I destroy seige equipment from a distance.

"His economy isn't the strongest" - What? Saladin used to be the greatest economy in the last game. ._. His persistent use of horse archers and slaves as well reminds me more of Wazir / Caliph than Saladin.

The description of the video is wrong, historically. Saladin had already captured Jerusalem and most of the crusader cities when the third crusade launched. So it was Richard the Lionheart who was actually fighting to take back Jerusalem from Saladin and not the other way around.
Third Crusade captured Jaffa, but not Jerusalem.

I played this game as a child, 4 years old to be specific, now I'm 16 and I can''t be more excited for a game, I''m especially excited for Saladin since I myself am an Arab :)

Saladin lost at Montgisard, at the siege of Tyre (1187), at the siege of Acre, at the batle of Arsuf and at the battle of Jaffa. Far from a perfect record, but he was still an above average military commander.
You should know Altair that he lost at masayf and he was almost assassinated

When it released there to much Mods maker and Custom Maps maker so when the time comes we would know if there is customs maps even if the game needs more maps i think it have enough if i were right

Saladin's castle looked so empty I thought he had to best eco, I don't see how he can have the best eco out of all the AIs when he had like 5 bakeries and some weapon workshops
my only complaint is that they stepped away from the graphic style of the first game and went with the lousy cartoon style the rest of the franchise has. that was the biggest thing i liked about the first too. awe well i guess. it's still a good franchise to play even if its hard to look at.

It would be nice if after this game realises, they make an optional download where the game goes back to isometric, it let's fans play the game the way they want it to and people who like the 4d graphics can play it that way

How will multiplayer work? Me and my brother always wanted to play the first crusader against eachother on the same netwerk. But it always refused to work. Is it improved in crusader 2?

House Lannister I know the feel man. Haha. I played with a friend against a 2 sultans, a marshall, and 2 rats and it took us a little over an hour. It's so fun though
Use gameranger for stronghold crusader 1. It does work very good and is easy to setup.

I pray that the a.i in Skirmish will actually be dynamic, else after a couple battles he becomes predictable and thus very easy to beat. By dynamic i mean if you were to fight Saladin in 4 separate battles, he may do things a little different from the previous.

-Saladin's economy and offensive needs to be buffed. His units are simply too weak to contend with any of the heavy european units, and his handful of standard catapults simply don't get the job done. His economy is too simplistic to keep up with The Wolf's. Suggestions: Have Saladin produce and sell iron. Buff the speed at which mill boys carry wheat and flower bags to the stock pile. Move his mercenary post inside his castle so it's not destroyed by his own fire pitch, or enemy attacks. Have him produce trebuchets(once trebuchets are patched).
did he say isn't the best economy or is the best economy, if he doesn't have the best then how will he be able to afford all those soldiers.

i hope ladders will be more efficient, would be a pity if just building a ton of soldiers is a better strategy than a more complicated siege.
They said there will be an option for stronger walls :)
considering how multiplayer aways has been on stronghold, building a shit ton of soldiers is still going to be way more effective than making a complicated castle, for one simple reason. map control.
When Salahdin smash the crusaders many times they kiss his hand to stop war and make peace
So you can still destroy walls with your soldiers hacking swords at it....

This looks nice but please don't make the bots to easy to defeat and lame on attack. Crusader 1 was a way to easy because they used to less units. A difficulty mode would be awesome.
I kind of wonder why Saladin is the good guy in Stronghold Crusader 2.
I am pretty sure they are trying to remain neutral so as to cause no controversies, and due to the fact that even a few Muslims were involved in this game and the original(The arabic troops didn't speak themselves........)
