The talent and discipline from these kids are massive. It's so awesome to see the younger generation uphold a tradition that's so important to New Orleans.
As a born and raised New Orleanian, I can say St. Aug's band is truly a local legend. For those who plan to come down to NOLA for Mardi Gras, it's a must to catch them during a parade. Hearing them live is absolutely chilling. Thank you Brad for showing New Orleans in the best light. These videos have really been special for me and the broader community.
I'm from the NOLA area too. Any parade St. Aug is in, they're the highlight by far. You can hear 'em coming from blocks away and as a poster below said, when they fire in full volume it's something incredible to behold. To put it in the NOLA Y'at lingo- Them boyz is good! I was at a parade once, probably around 97, 98, where it stalled as they are wont to do from time to time as a tractor engine dies and they need to get a replacement tractor for a float. St. Aug got "stuck" on the block where my friends & I were standing & they played probably played for a good 15 to 20 minutes straight and a dance party with the whole street several rows deep, cops included, proceeded to break out. Definitely a fond Mardi Gras memory.
3:56 big audio nerd here, there's something about marching bands recorded on regular (non music) mics that just sounds so good. the clipping and distortion adds almost like a natural compression, and sounds SO sick. for those craving more look up a few recordings of 'black and blues' at football games. k random tangent over, solid solid content brad ty ❤
So awesome to see so much love and positivity between folks from different backgrounds, who all care about bringing attention to these awesome kids! Makes my heart full, as a former marching band member. Glad to have you back, Brad. UA-cam is better for it.
Brad my dude check out what DCA is. NJ def has marching bands. Just competitions style. It’s a little less known in your area so nbd but you gotta see it. Geeking out hard bc I teach band and was a part of a southern DCA corps. Love the vids forever.
Great piece! I’m a very proud alum from 84. Opportunity is the one word I always use to describe my experience in the band. So proud of my little brothers 🎵
i grew up in the south and seeing some of the best majority black schools' marching bands playing during parades, halftimes at football games, etc. was such a sick experience. a lot of people dont get how special these kids are
OMG! Luv you Brad, and I have ALWAYS loved the high school bands in parades. Going to miss the city kids doing their thing now that we live way out in country....
as a former band kid, this brought back memories. marching band nd drum line made me who i am today. kinda cringe, drummer with tight technique with that drumline drive ya dig. thank you brad nd crew for showing that band kids aren’t jus the memes
that was epic Brad... I got goosebumps.... love your new series....and you were right at the end when you mentioned how wonderful they are and the event "especially today". too much crap going on in the world. this just makes your wanna dance
I’m so glad you have your own UA-cam channel!! For me you were bon appetite. I can’t wait to see you kill the UA-cam game because you’re videos have always been the best!
Brad I love all of your videos, and this band is absolutely incredible. Marching band definitely isn't as big of a cultural phenomenon in NJ, and many aren't as dedicated as these students. That said I'm from Vernon and the Vernon Twp. High School Marching Band is a pretty popular extra curricular, and they perform competitively, not just the half-time shows. Myself and all my siblings were in it, and my youngest brother still is. If you're ever in Vernon on a weekend in the fall you should check them out.
Wow, great video! You and the crew hit that one right out of the park. That feeling of goosebumps and that electrifying spiritual high really come through. Also beautiful is your respect and appreciation for being welcomed and cared for during this filming. Dealing with the panic and nervousness will be a challenge, especially because you don't have any big boss telling you what to do. But you're a smart, warm, appreciate person, and you'll find your way.
I subbed to Brad’s channel when it had 142k subscribers on June 28,2023, 4 weeks after it was started! Just commenting this as a marker before his channel blows up! Would be fun to look back on this later on! You’re doing amazing so far Brad! 😄😄😄
mardi gras marching bands. most of them highschools.. fucking goated. what a presence what a feeling. im from nola. and i stopped going to mardi gras. it gets violent out there. but the music and the bands hit a nerve. they are so good
A video drops with Brad Leone in it, I simply just watch the video. That's it. Local Legends is a good idea. There are only a handful of people that I look forward to listening to no matter what the subject is. Some just have that "it factor" where even if they are doing a live advertisement read for a brand I care nothing about, it is still entertaining (even if it is mostly due to outtakes mixed with a good editing team lol). That is hard to do. Brad is one of very few in that group for me. I'd friggin love to chill/work/learn/just chop it up with Brad. Keep it up.
These kids arw amazing, so glad you got a chance to highlight them and show the good work and good side of NOLA. There is way to much negativity in the media about NOLA that people seem to forget just how many good people live there.
good work, brad. come to southern illinois and see some incredible rock formations, and I know a guy who has an entire mushroom farm that are incredible.
Was there a reason why you didn't show any footage (with sound) of them marching? You bigged that up on Instagram and honestly that was the most impressive thing to see.
Honestly I couldn’t agree more but my audio recording gear didn’t do it justice and super unfortunate. Didn’t want to make a video of them sounding bad because they sure as hell didn’t. Sorry
@@bradleone I would imagine those mardi gras parades are an absolute nightmare for any audio engineer haha. That's a fair and good reason IMO. Great video regardless!'
Legends has it, Brad Leone still has goosebumps to this day.
😆💚

Attended St Aug for my sophomore yr & some of my Junior year. Marched & played Trombone. Great memories, historical school.

I love how much respect Brad and his team give to the people who he features.
You did an amazing job showing this marching band all the respect and love. Brought tears to my eyes, I once was a marching band kid.❤

Love the new format Brad and team, looking forward to the next episodes!

Thanks Brad and team! As a former marching band member, this video brings me happy tears and good memories.
This was so touching for me. I was in a successful high school marching band & lived in & loved New Orleans! 🥲
LOVE THIS! Haven’t seen you pop in my recommended in a while. This definitely deserves more views!

This was wonderful! Marching band was what got me through high school. All of my friends were from band.
This was so sick! no cooking or anything but Brads passion and love is infectious!
Talk about some local legends for sure! Great video, Brad.

One of your best videos, Brad.
If I was a betting man I’d say it gave Brad goosebumps the whole time
Such a great video, I’m from NOLA and this is how it is. I’m always hearing about our problems but the city has so much culture and hospitality.
Favorite part of Mardi Gras, great video
Brad this was the best editing & content 😢
We love this
What an amazing series, I absolutely love this.

Idk if I’m just a little emotional rn but these kids just made me cry. Passionate and full of hope, they just seem like such good kids yk.

Its now september 3rd and brad has 172k subscribers… within 2 months, Brad earned 30k subscribers. Wow.
I like how @11:25 he is saying how opposite he was while his doppelgänger is walking by over his left shoulder.
Yooo Brad is back!

LETS GO PURPLE #CLASS2005 #CLASS2025
Loved this one, Brad!!!!
5:47 this.❤
Playing “Get it on” in the band room was awesome!
They were playing Sam Smith’s song “UnHoly” in the band room.
@@bluetinsel7099 heard it!
Goosebumps 💛
Commenting and liking for the algos, keep on rocking Brad!
I don't have any reason to watch Bon Apetit any more.
Edit:Maybe the wine guy.
I love it!!!!
INTRO IS BUZZIN'
You've gotta have pride when your school is the best of the best.
Purple! Purple! 💜
YAAAAS MORE BRAD!
This was great guys.
💚
i’m pretty sure that song was Unholy by Sam Smith and Kim Petras not Lil Nas X
You’re definitely right.
Ol’ Flute Whistle Leone ❤
My memory of the St. Aug and Fortier bands was the chest pounding music and the dramatic marching steps. Which one of them did the big kick step?
Very Kool.😎

A-MA-ZING
Like music has always been a mystery to me, hence I think music is top 40 but it’s so different when people play instruments together.
🔥🔥🔥
Love it but need longer videos!
Working on it!

Best band in the land! 🇺🇸
brad one of my favorite clips was when you and matty matheson went noodling. do you think you guys would collab again?
Rise Sons!!!!
Purple. The best band in the land.
took 10 hours for this vid to show up in my feed with a 8 hours ago tag..
Corrections One of World legends ❤
I'd run through a brick wall for Dr Miller.
