Very very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
How well would the 1/4" rubber roll be over a small room of low to medium pile carpet?
I'm not wanting it for a home gym, but for a small "workshop" in a rental unit. I was going to put plastic down over the carpet then rubber floor over top, secured in place with double sided carpet tape.
We have not tested rubber flooring installed in this manner. We typically recommend a hard flat surface when installing rubber. Staylock Tiles are the best option for over carpet.
1:19 what's that you're placing under the tiles? I'm thinking of buying these tiles but I have high pile carpet and I really want something sturdy enough that i won't feel the carpet moving under me while I work out
A piece of plywood can help connect the tiles together over soft carpet. These tiles may not work over high pile carpet. We recommend calling us at 877-822-6622
I have been struggling on which thickness of rubber tiles I should go with. Most videos I watch, the home gym is in the garage or basement on concrete floors, but my home gym is in an extra bedroom that has hardwood flooring. I have been considering 1/2 inch rubber flooring for more protection for the wood flooring underneath. I don't plan on doing any Olympic style exercises and dropping weights, just the basic exercises. Do you think 3/8 inch flooring is sufficient to protect my wood floors?
We recommend giving us a call at 877-822-6622 to talk about what size weights you plan to use.1/2 inch will provide greater peace of mind but 3/8 inch is very popular in home gyms.
Hardwood was mentioned at the beginning of the video but never came up again. So what about for hardwood?
Almost any gym flooring can be installed over hardwood. We do recommend putting craft paper under rubber flooring as rubber can cause discoloration of the hardwood.
Can you put furniture and use office chair? I’ve a short carpet
Staylock Tiles may be too soft to be rolling an office chair on.
The Max Tiles may be a better option. Give us a call at 877-822-6622 to discuss options. www.greatmats.com/tiles/raised-floor-tiles-max.php
What about on porcelain tiles?
Most home gym flooring options can be installed over porcelain tiles or any hard flat surface. Thicker tiles will protect the subsurface better from heavy equipment.
Will a gym platform ruin my carpet
It depends on the gym platform that you purchase. Our Staylock Bump Top Tiles are the best option for over carpeting.
I’m glad you didn’t cover home gym flooring mat options for LVP or hardwood or laminate…..smh
Almost any gym flooring can be installed over LVP, hardwood, and laminate. Let us know if you have any questions.
