This is like an alternate reality of Haldir coming to Helms Deep a bit late since he got lost and took a wrong turn to Isengard
Ha! Got lost, more like thought because he's an Elf he can take on the whole of Isengard all by himself!
So being proud made him live, that's not normally the moral of the story 🧐A strange alternate reality indeed.
I've partially watched this episode already on your twitch. I am too hooked on this one.
Aaaah yes, episode 3! Perfect way to start this work day.
50:00 I was like Joe Rogan ohhhhhh. (they have illanin) ..... OHHHHHH (rhun took sant annui)
Impressive bringing this one back from the brink! Even with hindsight I'm not sure what a better opening would have been. Maybe just take Fangorn Camp to close the border off then focus on Dol Guldur?
Yeah, I think so. Even doing that though, Rohan could capitulate really fast without early damage to Isengard. Hard to tell, they are struggling a heap even with the help.
Great content, again. Three episodes no cav, I love it! Really looking forward to the next instalment man.
puns in full effect I see.....good one
I set low bars so it's easy for me to fall over them.
Your best episode ever
How many times have you said that, I'm going to top out soon 🤣
1hr 39 in and my goodness the suspense and stress. oh, the feels, my guy
With Lindon on fire, I really hope your boys and girls never need to go West to the Undying lands...
Plan C is up in smoke, have to make plan B work. Plan A is well past.
Amazing series so far! Have to go over to twitch again to watch more 😂
Love this challenge for you, so entertaining :D. Does anyone know if the DaC team are looking to improve AI for the next version?
One of your neighbours happens to be the financial leader. You could sell them all settlements to the north.
I have to be able to take those settlements first and to do that I need troops. I do intend on selling a bit of the north to KD, will just take a little time.
you have the most chaotic campaigns with what happens to the rest of the world. I am on turn 100 plus of a Khazad -Dum campaign and the only wild upsets in mine is that rohan and gondor are beating mordor to the point they are stuck at the black gates and Minus Morgal
I think a KD campaign stabilizes the entire center of the map since the Goblins are your main target and if left unchecked they impact Anduin, HE, Dunedain, Bree, Dunland, Gundabad, Lothlorien and Angmar. Taking them out early has a significant flow on effect.
@@epmtotalwar that is pretty much what I did is took out all their tier 2 settlements on the west side. let them take the western bank of the anduin claimed that then took those. but Rohan and gondor winning and pushing AGAINST Mordor is what threw me for a loop
@@zachbova9935 It can occasionally happen but pretty rare. Is Isengard gone or are Rohan somehow pushing Mordor with an enemy still behind?
@@epmtotalwar isengard was being beseiged by endewaith multiple times but still there
@@zachbova9935 But pretty much out of it it sounds if EW is there. Either way, always fun to have a campaign that has some variety.
My suggestion for your next army is for them to actually take Erui to sell to the goblins for Peace, trade, and a stack of money before using them to go and take Dol Gouldor, The expedition to Dol Gouldor isn't actually to take it, but to actually sell it to the goblins so maybe Dol Gouldor goes to war with the goblins it will also give you the money to raise more forces for the southern expedition. By the time that the northern expedition succeeds I expect the Souther Isenguard front to have stabilized enough for you to send the expeditionary force to link up with the remains of the new army and north army group to help Gondor hold.
Good idea but I think you are overestimating the troops I have access to, I think I need to spend some time building infrastructure to even get an army. At the moment I'm getting about 10 troops every 15 turns which isn't enough to go north, hold the west against Isengard and push against Mordor let alone do anything to DG. I need access to troops so I can basically go negative income so I can deal with 1 of many problems and just hope where I don't send the troops doesn't get overrun in the meantime.
@@epmtotalwar maybe Mercs? I know Eruit is easy to take and maybe it'll allow you to get better barracks and stuff for more troops.
This is gonna be a close campaign!
Captain Egalmoth is in western Ostgeliath(except for when he wiped out Mordor's armies in Carasat) it still holds!
Battle of the Somme(Erebor remix)
You can get mercenary avarii spearmen near dorwinion.
Even closer I think, just over the river in the brown lands region.
The Great Beast issue is a pain in the arse. Without a ton of Javelins, they're sort of scary to face, bc you just get mauled to kingdom come. They're so tough to take down & cause so much damage.
You NEED calvary. Would you freaking buy a stables, so you stop hermit-ing in your castles & cities & feel more comfortable beating enemy armies & earning income. You're sort of an isolationist bc your economy is rough, you're outnumbered & sort of starting to get out-gunned by nearby enemies. You need Calvary to even the odds & open your doors to conquest, so you can get Dol Guldor, and build up your economy in the nearby woodland realm/Dol Guldor areas. Then, you'll have your strong, elite armies to muster & take on Isengard, Mordor, etc. Rohan will either survive a bit longer, or perish.....oh well, lol
I'm working on it. I've communicated that I'm working towards cav. The logic is I barely have enough money to field the troops I can train, rushing a stables when I'm already broke won't swing the tide and it certainly won't let me magically rush across the river to DG. Mirkwood is terrible for money anyway, the only reason to go there early is to rush down DG to eliminate an enemy not because that land is wealthy. I decided to go south instead and try a different strategy which has had certain consequences one of which being DG is now very strong. This means there is no immediate priority to attack DG, I'd rather secure the south which I've invested much into already. I have strong defences against DG and there is no reason, at this point, to push out against them.
I have to 'hermit' as you say it as I don't have troops to recruit and I don't have the money to get the buildings to get more troops. Now with taking some wealthier settlements in the south I have some income to start building up military structures. And for 'hermiting' there isn't really better factions than elves since you get full advantage of free upkeep giving excellent value.
2:11:40 maybe because they have the higher ground?
This must be helping but surely not that much, even the sellswords had a really difficult time taking down a few. Cav, not just pathetic bottom of the barrel ponies, do not perform well in a prolonged melee against infantry, period, they get hit by multiple units since their hitboxes are so large.
Always Enedwaith and mordor win. Need some settings were good boys can win too.
Well, I think it's appropriate that Mordor wins if Gondor doesn't get help and that happens 9/10 times. EW is a problem and has been noted for nerfs in the next version. They lost in my Goblins campaign though so it's not guaranteed.
If this goes south, like real south you should restart it or do it again after
I think just maybe we'll recover, but an almighty uphill slog it's going to be. No quick and easy win this time.
Yep... It's Over bro
For all my enemies, absolutely.
Would you do a top 5 good and bad fation list after playing with all the fations. It would be interesting to see who got jumps and why.
Making videos like this have been pestering away at me for a long time, I guess a simple tiermaker video would do the job to discus points. But each time I think of doing something like that I think I'd like to have actually unit testing to back up statements which is a difficult thing to do since you have to get the AI to play ball consistently. On top of all that it would then involve some video editing which, frankly, I'm not great at.
It is a great idea to do some rating videos, it just takes a lot more preparation and effort than a campaign video and I'm extremely time poor.
@epmtotalwar Hey man, that's fair.
My guess for the list would be,
Good
1.DORWINIAN
2.Gondor
3.Enith Wiath
4. N Dunedin
5. Dol Amroth
Bad
1.Isengaurd
2.Gundabad
3.Dunland
4. Rhun
5. Angmar
Would it be possible to conquer Derwath and give it to Dunland in exchange for an alliance and/ or money?
Maybe, I think I'll just try to hold onto what I have for now, my army is in tatters.
One hour in and it looks grim. Evil winning everywhere. Ring snag looking like last hope. But you got two hours to go so roll on. Why not add fortress troops to sally?
Fortress troops? Do you mean garrison troops from the structure? I think the coding would be a nightmare to add them to sally and it doesn't make sense, they are volunteers that defend their homes not march out and take the fight to the enemy.
@@epmtotalwar no, the troops in that as it turns out trap fort.
@@krichardj Oh, yes, the infamous 'fort'. Um, just didn't need them or I didn't think I needed them (one or the other), it's sometimes a pain having reinforcements come in.
Keep them coming!
Lol, don't go south yet. Who cares about Rohan..... Build the darn stables!! Take Dol Guldor -- Start building up Elves in the forest. Take Erui for great cash. Why loose money to "garrison" buildings. Build up & push out. Take Isengard too!
