Dorwinion was my first DAC campaign. Great to see you're going to be choosing the northmen. A lot of UA-camrs just go Avari. So this side is mostly unexplored.
what an amazing start to this campaign, a couple things, I know with the elven script you get a stack of the northman units led by the Calvary general, you MIGHT also get the other unique elven Calvary general with the rest of the Eleven units as well. and while you are bordering Dol Guldur, they probably will not attack you for a hot minute. then lastly, I can't wait for episode 2 to come out
Yeah, you get the Elven general with some Elves, the inverse of getting The Northmen units if the other choice. I think it is just a certain number of turns after getting the script or maybe when I get the unique building. I'm kind of assuming that DG will attack sooner rather than later, the question will be what condition I'm in when it happens.
@@epmtotalwar Dol Guldur is trash, you build the garrison there and some archers and you should never have issues with them. also even though it doesn't say it I am pretty sure way stations give elven units free upkeep even if you cannot retrain them
YES YES YES YES YES!!!! MORE DORWINION! If I can give you a tip. Neburkha can grow pretty fast and can become super rich once you own the entire sea of Rhun. So I'd suggest turning off taxes, building growth buildings (all of them), and maybe a garisson. I have never seen an AI attack Neburkha in any Yt'ers campaign so far. Anyways, love as always! I am still knee deep in your Dunland campaign as of now, but it's deadline and exam periods. I can't wait to see how much the elves will boost your economy though.
Yeah, I'm tempted to try to build it up though it would be an utter waste if they just sailed a couple of lads over there and took it. Like I said, when I have extra income I'll throw it that way.
@@epmtotalwar I do in fact, ride my donkey backwards. I also can't wait to catch another stream of yours in the future. Keep up the good work. The Northman script is quickly becoming my preferred one over the avarri elves, now.
Yes!! I've been waiting for a good streamer to do the Northmen route. I like athala rangers, vintner knight/paladins, xbows better than the Shadows , Moriqueni Pike/Archer combo flat out. Edwodyn is Witch Knight good, maybe better. Flattens everything in his path and easier to get a charge off since not a lancer. Use the Sea of Rhun to full advantage, put and army with siege equipment in to the boats and just snag whichever city is least defended instead of just plowing head long in to double stacks at Mistrand. Probably, the campaign I look forward to the most since nobody does it.
You said the paladins were beasts and I was like "yeah, sure, probably" and then I saw the 2 second difference between them getting the general at Ilanin and routing the unit as well as the unit that watched. Those should be fun to work with
I say you send a governer to Neburkha so that it can grow with minimal investment. I must admit I am excited for this especially for the great clashes with Rhun.
I have other settlements that could use a spare gov and that would risk losing a character for nothing. I have not enough money to invest already and that settlement isn't worth the risk.
@@epmtotalwar I feel like the other settlements are more risky because they have land borders whereas Neberka is protected by the water for at least another 10-20 turns.
Ah the Avari, the least smug of the elves. Also the mounted crossbows are best used to shoot and scoot. Turn off fire at will until You can safely get them close to enemy infantry. For example the lok inis rim. Fire off a volley And move them away.
@@epmtotalwar I really think, for me at least, It's this air of superiority that the elves are depicted with in the movies. Which is different from the books of course. Like, In the books legolas is actually more of a light hearted character than all of the none Hobbit Fellowship members. I can't say i'm a elf hater. I just like the other good guy races better. The Avari are my favorite Elves in this med 2 mod because they were like, "Yeah, screw going to the undying land. We're going to make Wine and build a Dorwinian Society with these Northmen." They were not on Celebrimbor's short list of Elves to give a Ring of power to. I mean, The Avari Elves didn't have a Kin slaying. @@ezrahendog5837 I think you are right in the different depictions from movie to book. A lot of characters are much more likeable if you go off the books. I actually cannot stand Frodo from the movies but book Frodo is a really good guy. But, the absolute sellout was on Faramir. Book Faramir looked the ring in the face and defied it. Movie Faramir just wanted something to get into the good books with daddy. And I always thought wood elves were a bit more smug than high elves. Thranduil is the model of elf smugness. I always thought Elrond was pretty chill.
@epmtotalwar What makes wood elves a close 2nd for me is Trandril is maintaining an elven Kingdom without a ring of Power. While Lorian had Lady Galadrial with her Ring of Power, Elrod with his ring of Power in Rivendell, and Kirdan in the Grey Heavens. Thrandril tried to make it work. So he and the wood elves get less smug points from me. I mean it's a completely arbitrary scale. At the end of the day all the elves are cool in their own way. I'm just more of a human guy when it comes to Lord the rings. As a kid, I really thought Rohan was cool.
@@epmtotalwar I didn't rush. The main thing for me was the economy. In all cities it was important to keep building. So I defended Strondost most of the time and gradually started to expand through Withirion. Now on round 60, Rhun is down and I'm making almost 50,000 per round
@gawinthegrey504 Although this is probably the best play and what I would do if I wasn't recording, it isn't the most exciting. If there is an opportunity to expand I'll probably take it even if it means stalling the economy.
I will do Rhun V5 though as it was the last campaign I did on 4.6 there are many others in line before it. I think it extremely unlikely that Gondor will push into Mordor and probably wouldn't attack them in any case. I'll have dol guldur, Rhun, Mordor and potentially Khand, maybe even gundabad to deal with.

🤣The paladins didn't come to mess around. They heard your future doubt and banished it.
Interesting - nice vibe with this campain and really cool storyline, looking forward to see.
Garison in Strondost..?
Hope to, I get a fair bit of free upkeep with the fort so getting troops is a little viable at least early.
Cant wait for the elves!
The few I get will be thoroughly enjoyed.
Good choice

In all seriousness though, I've never understood the elf hate. I think if humans had lived as long as elves they would be 100x worse.

I guess you can just watch to see which way I go 🤣Nothing is predetermined, I make decisions based on the situation I see.
