- I agreed to tent camp with a complete stranger but why?
I came across this stranger called Rob and agreed to camp with in because he is a follower of my youtube channel. I was camping on my new promotion and also trying out fishing for the first time.
my equipment I used was the naturehike start river 2 tent, slerping bag oex 600 down,
sleeping mat klymit static v LUXE, also used my firebox stove.

They enjoy the company of their miserable cohorts. Misery loves company. Do you know of the best sasquatch channel on UA-cam? It's run by a professional hunting and fishing guide named Steve Isdahl. Ever seen a sasquatch? I've been close enough to touch one twice. Those were pretty hairy situations to say the least.

Great video Dan, for your fishing, it's all about location and bait. You're using an open water fishing rig for a very contained area. Try a simple small hook, small lead weight, bobber (floater) and Red Wigglers. Set your depth depending on your water depth, stay about a foot above the bottom, put a worm on your hook, and toss it in, sit back and watch your floater go under and reel in the fish.

You need to get a few maggots Dan on a smallish size 16 or 18 hook and you’ll see what’s in there as the artificial baits you’ve got will only attract a few fish and they don’t live in all lakes (swap the maggots for worms, bread or sweetcorn for ease of transport)

First tip, get some polarized sunglasses, so you can actually see if any fish are present
Looks like a great spot to camp. Don't give up on the fishing too soon. Once you start catching them it becomes addictive.

Great video. I'm sure someone else will have said on here but try again with the fishing, but float fish with maggots to start off with. Theres loads of "float fishing for beginners" videos on here and i watched them to start fishing about 4 years ago, and love fishing now. Camping and fishing for me fit perfectly together and stick with it. 👍
Looks like a lovely spot there. Funnily enough I bought a rod last week. Not too sure about that set up though as it seems a bit much for some simple, beginner coarse fishing🤔 Aint fished since a teenager, so should be interesting 😂 A bit of simple float fishing is perfect for me. I've got friends & family who are in to it proper, but I've always been happy just sitting there watching a float

Ahhhh ......fishing. I've been a fisherman for 25yrs. To blend in fishing and camping I'd recommend Carp fishing. Great scenery and characters. Some good advice regarding fishing.....the tackle is designed to catch the fisherman and NOT the fish !

Thats a great location dan, shame there was no fish for breakfast but an awesome wildcamp with a like minded fellow who loves the outdoors.
I actually went to smell the screen 😂 to be fair I just woke up at 3am. First day of a fortnight off I sleep as long as I can. So a bit groggy 😂 another great video. I’ve promised myself I’ll spend at least 4 nights out of the next 16 in a forest. Gonna scout out some local land first then maybe hit Thetford or Epping. Would love to find a nice bit of permission land as a regular spot. Used to know a farmer but it was a long time ago and I’m struggling to find him again! Great vid though, lovely little spot. Looking forward to the next one.

Great video mate 👍 you want a cheap course fishing setup, either float or bottom feeder with maggots worms or micro pellet, you won't catch bugger all on that 😂. Keep up the videos pal.

Try a few small spinners like size 1/2 mepps and see if you have any better luck,remember most things in fishing shops are designed to catch fishermen rather than fish!
Love all of your updates fella, if you're right handed you need to change over the handle on the reel, simply unscrew the blue thumb nut on the right hand side of the reel and pull the handle out of the left and fit in reverse. 👍
Great to see you doing a bit of fishing dan .. your spinner was a bit big for that river .. best using a smaller spinner and when you get fed up spinning swap over and do some bottom fishing with maggots or worms maybe put on a swim feeder filled with maggots .. i love nothing more than a wee wild camp and a spot of fishing by the loch side😊

Good spot Dan and camp try a spinner Dan or mepps from your fishing shop they will explain how to use them or you can use maggots or worms with float attached you will get there mate if your ever up in Scotland and pretty close by I would camp with you and show you how to fish doesn’t need to be confusing all you need are the basics and you will get there all the best buddy and take care 👍👌❤️🔥🔥

Love your vids you crack me up, (forgetting your pals name part), i am the same, that pitch looks wicked, anglers would give their right arm to camp/fish there, that rig looks like its for predatory fish perch/zander/pike, or sea rig, try a simple waggler float, couple of light weights a small sized non barbed hook 14-18, and a maggot, then sit back relax and watch the bites as your float bobs up and down, then gently lift the rod as the float disappears underwater, can catch anything from roach/perch/chub/dace/carp/rudd, have a look at (how to start fishing - a guide to your first days fishing ) by carl, once you catch you WILL be hooked, you will also attract more subscribers as you bring fishing into the mix, keep going pal, great stuff.

It's awful that when you forget people's names when you have known them for years, it happens to the best of us though. Even worse when you are introducing people to each other and their name slips your mind. Camping there would be too noisy for me, I would be up all night!
Cool new spot you need to find out what kind of fish and bait to use for them…I’m from Michigan and we fish here from childhood.. Much more fun if you are catching something. Have fun stay safe.

The lure might be good for catching pike or maybe a perch in most rivers in the uk. Crayfish are tasty btw. There's an invasive crayfish in uk streams and rivers, catching them would be good
You appear to have a plumb bob on your set up which is used for float fishing and is a test weight to show you the depth of the bottom to set up initially.
Ive never used lures but i think theyre supposed to drift through the middle to top of the water as you wind in for hunting fish ie Perch or Pike but good luck to you as you learn as you go
Dan Chanel come a long way pal from just cooking stake which we enjoyed now hiking fishing trail cameras and so on be that person respect 👊
You need a Zebco 33 Classic Rod and Reel. Made for short difficult casting around brush and weeds.😁👍👍
Dan fishing is an art try using a float with either worm bread or maggot ...I don't think the river has pike or trout in it but looks fab for fishing ...chub will be plentyful I there mate ...
