@@holdernessfamilylaughs Perry may need a rap battle against your other or the household's conditions... it plays out a bit like "Highlander" (film/series) doesn't it. Dolly Parton had "PMS Blues", Lisa Koch "I'm a Middle-aged Woman" and let's just forget the various hippie dippy to allegedly sensitive feminist songs that instead bizarrely discuss quarantining them to their own bare prison huts or looking forward to death (seriously, wtf? the bleak outlook seems to be the most popular from the 60s onward in womynist circles. expected in folk music, I guess, but not even in punk. Which leaves one with films, a few are decent but minimize... the parking lot scene from Fried Green Tomatoes comes to mind. Oh, and in r/l, great therapy are destructo rooms/yards, if you need it less destructive add kintsugi to it. For husbands vs wives at this stage, I've found overall, husbands become as emotionally stable as most teenage girls (oh, and the insecurities as much as the moods.) and wives akin to most teenage boys (I would say with less starched towels, but then one mate likens it to the Snow White (or Rose Red) and the awkward Seven Dwarfs with having certain moods taking over but yet catharsis being just out of reach or not meshing with their bodily variation, or finding their spouse having more headaches. ahem. Oh, never mind when more than one Peri exists in the same place, though that just amounts to setting down bin liner under their feet and seats, in case, anyone sneezes) ... for snoring, one has to trade off the noise from a c-pap vs the snoring, though is the audio as bad as the overgrown nose hair that reaches out to with one of it's many tentacles to drag you into the abyss as every time he breaths, they lash out wildly.) ... we also need a product rundown of items that make aging less awkward. One has to wonder if there's any peri subscription boxes. It's a pain and a half trying to locate products for it... esp. cooling pajamas that you don't have to choose between college tuition for the kids or sleeping a little more comfortably. One also has to wonder if there's a card game to prepare the family for the potential changes with these feral, werewolf, life stages... and how awkward when one is going thru similar kind of growing pains and fluctuations as their kids.

Also, is Midwestern Neighbor affected or like most of her ilk, refuse to believe in it.... until authorities discover the bodies. Ask the lass to verify the cultural aspect of this. . . it causes their stepford programming to glitch. The south, it's celebrated, albeit becoming eccentrics they set up on the front porch instead of sequestering to the attic or basement. The west/southwest try to outrun it by activities.. idle hands. Northeast, they let it all hang out but it becomes a uniform of sorts or tenured with a degree in literature, also adopting a celebrated eccentric motif but more muted and less traditional quirks. (see blog "Writing As Jo(e)" And the midwest seems wrapped in repression and denials to ever being human. . . but again, many glitches in the matrix there. I suspect they try to quell it with quilting which seem as broody as the most nail biting poker games. Not stoic in the least, the cracks all the more apparent.

@@holdernessfamilylaughs medicine takes decades to acknowledge that women are different than men and have serious health concerns. Case in point - heart attacks
I wish it wasn’t true but too often women are still treated as persona non grata. We are not thankfully but the struggle is real.
Kim, if you’re feeling peri menopause is tough try being surgically menopaused at 32 and left hung out to dry by all the male gynecologists. That’s a level of crazy and suffering no woman should have to endure.
Btw - you’re going to be fine. This too will pass. As long as you let Penn survive everything will work out eventually. You are blessed he is better than most husbands for hanging in there.

Here's another little thing to know that I had no idea about when I went through menopause. To have gone completely through menopause, you have to go 12 consecutive months without a period. Be prepared to go through your period stopping for a few months & then starting back up again for a few months. I wish they would prepare us for menopause like they do for menstruation!!!

Being a guy in my 50's with a wife in her 40's I can REALLY feel sorry for ANY woman going through all of this,
and even if...IF...your doctor is willing to help then you have to deal with the "possible side effects" of anything they prescribe.
Some people who have used ANTI-PERRY have described the following side effects...trouble breathing, memory loss, severe
mood swings, breast size irregularity, an IQ drop, swelling of appendages on the left side of the body, blindness and inability to see, taste, feel, smell or hear. Please call your doctor immediately if you experience any of these...

There is a small part of me that is so happy I am not the only one struggling with this but then I feel so bad for everyone else. I don't know what is worse, not sleeping or the night sweats. A double whammy and who knows when it gets better.

This is fantastically true. You know what would be great. A menopause song parody to Bruce Springsteen’s I’m on Fire. I know he’s singing about something else but I completely relate to “at night I wake up with my sheets soaking wet and a freight train running through the middle of my head” in a different way now😂

Oh lord, I remember those days. When I first started peri, I told my doctor that my skin looked weird and asked if that was normal. He looked at me like I had 3 heads. By God, my skin did look abnormal and now I know why. It was preparing to be grandma skin! No colleges, dry and scaly. The hot flashes are hysterical looking back on some of them like one that happened in December (under 30 degrees outside) and I stripped down to my underwear and stood in the screened porch fanning myself with the ceiling fan going on high while my husband and kids who were inside the house laughed at me through the window. Fun times!

I told my doctor that I have so much more rage than I ever had. She said “oh yeah that’s the perimenopause”. And the hot flashes are such a treat when you’re in the middle of a strategic planning session. Or when your legs sweat while you’re sleeping and not just the parts that get sweaty in the summer. Your whole leg is damp. Why can’t our bodies just go back to normal instead of totally off the deep end when the hormones change?

Magnesium glycinate + taurine powder every evening. Plus valerian tablets extra strength with hops on the bad nights. Still doesn't get rid of the constant hot 🥵 some nights ... but a fan and cracked windows do help somewhat for that.

Hugs. Yes. This is all true. The anxiety is such a PARTY. I can't even ride in the car going more than 55 MPH without freaking out (unless I hide in the back with headphones and games). And the gaslighting will come from doctors who should know better. I brought the three most quality of life impacting issues to my OBGyn and she was like, "we can pick one to focus on." She's fired. The world needs nicer tank tops and suitable sleeveless + button/zip options for the BOILING/fine/BOILING cycle.

I am fully in menopause now. But when I was in peri menopause I looked for natural remedies that I use to this day. For the mood swings Chaste berry extract in capsule form! Fabulous! No more mood swings and it's great for acne! Amber acid tablets for the hot flashes! If it works great! Now I am taking DHEA 25 megs. That is a master hormone which helps to make testosterone and estrogen after menopause safely. It makes me skin softer and my attention span longer! Good luck!

Things you didn't have unstoppable weight gain, erratic periods, sudden strange unexplainable pains that come and go in a matter of minutes, and random feelings of something crawling on ya when nothing is there.

Funny! I know I said this last time. But please realize ladies it does not have to be bad. I did not have bad symptoms. I did however really focus on staying away from alcohol , added sugar, too much caffeine, I eat mostly plants & get exercise each day. I just don’t want women to believe this always happens regardless. It may seem boring no alcohol but alcohol is poison to your body. So if someone handed you a glass of poison I think everyone would have no issue turning it down.

She’s not keeping me up at night yet, but I definitely have worsening depression, wild mood swings, headaches, and occasional night sweats (I guess? I wake up drenched in sweat… I’m guessing that’s night sweats?) and have already been gaslighted by my doctor and told they don’t help with hormones except for men (because women’s hormones are “too complicated” - from a FEMALE doctor!!!). Why did nobody tell me about any of this?
Smash the taboo! Every person who has ovaries or interacts with someone who has ovaries NEEDS to learn about perimenopause!
