You have purchased super nice KW's and all the negative comments make me sad and mad. The new breed of drivers certainly are different from my group. All black truck and auto idle is set to 120 😂😂😂😂 I know there's an apu but in 100 degree heat that apu won't hang, hell not really even in 80 degrees, parked in the sun
But they can remotely change that. HELLO!!! By the time my APU shits the bed, the last thing dispatch is gonna wanna deal with is a driver "requesting" to idle. Set the damn thing to 80 degrees and be done with it. No need to "Mother may I" a driver to death.

Nice overview of all the key features!! Amazing how many features the new trucks have in them and especially for enhanced safety!! Big difference from when I compare this truck with my Dad's first new KW semi back in the '60s. The dash cam is the way to go when it comes to accidents, etc. You are giving your drivers a very nice package!!
@Smith Trucking Inc you are very welcome....i love your company. Outstanding I do not understand how you can afford all those beautiful trucks you must be really really smart..
They are good to their word, it took about a month because loyal drivers of theirs needed trucks first. I moved into mine today :) I didn't need the extra matress... Their mechanics don't insulate the wires for the window devices, the headliner makes quite a bit a noise for newer truck. I had to wrap a bundle of wires with a small towel. All in all it's good truck. The sleeper birth is very roomy, I am five feet and 11 inches tall. These are very nice people, worth the effort applying here...
That truck looks immaculate, and while they are definitely spec'd for driver comfort and reliability, all companies should know that once you put the driver inside of the cab, that sleeper is the dwelling and haven of the driver from that point forward until they are removed from the truck. Even if you allow them to turn off the cameras when the truck is stopped, having constant surveillance while they work is a major turnoff to any driver, and the company is going to likely miss out of any good driver as none would want to work for a company with this kind of policy in place.

Hey you have to give them credit they are honest and up front about the inward facing camera and the truck review was done well. If it was done as a recruiting video I think it was a failure as most drivers (good or bad) rule these companies out or relegate them to a choice of last resort. If the company owner and office folks want to have a camera recording them anytime they’re sitting in their office seat and be drug tested so others can review there daily activities great ! After all they are making daily decisions that affect driver safety out on the road everyday.
I am all for outward facing cameras but would never work for a company who feels the need to to have one pointing into my office and life. Either you trust your drivers or you don’t. I am sure not a single person at the office has a front facing camera looking at them all day?? No, didn’t think so!! Stacy Smith okay then answer me this. Why have your trucks set to not idle until it gets to 120 degrees? Have you ever tried to sleep in a truck even with an APU going at 110 degrees? Even with an APU I promise you it’s nearly impossible. Even at 100 degrees. You HAVE to idle to be comfortable at anything above 90 degrees.
Stacy Smith swift and many other companies got sued for those interior cameras and they lost millions so the inside camera no longer works at swift, I work at swift so I know
iam sure youll have plenty of empty trucks sitting around! do you have cameras in the office restrooms too?
Audio is only recorded when an event triggers the camera. So only 12 seconds of audio is ever heard. There is no live view available to us, forward or rear facing. The drivers privacy is taken very seriously and you could ask any of the current or past drivers and they would attest to this. Pretty certain we would have many negative reviews if we were abusing the cameras.
And we don't have a lot of open trucks :)
Yeah they lost me @ remotely changing settings. Why should you have the ability to remotely control anything on my truck.
They probably do , they dont trust their employees
@@stacysmith8187 your computer won't let you look, but those higher up probably can. I worked at a company where managers showed us they could tune in, but wouldn't do that unless there was a problem. That's scary. Makes me very faithful to my trucks maintenance account. Dear lord, please keep me from ever working for these morally corrupt people ever again, amen!
@@stacysmith8187 that's not accurate..
We could watch any camera using a DC's bypass, and it wouldn't light up the drivers camera
Had me all the way up until that cab facing camera. It's not that worried what you might see but I don't like being spied on. I'm glad there's legislation going in to remove that.
The one at my trade school has 300 miles. That’s it
You lost me at driver facing camera
I have a 2017 WHats the difference..Also glad I’m purchasing my truck because I don’t need nobody watching me lol
I couldn't imagine what this beautiful rig would run in price, ggeesshh !!
That is one of, if not the most well equipped company truck I have ever seen!! I see the Smith Trucking Kenworths all the time, never been afforded the opportunity to take a peek inside but that driver facing camera is a deal breaker. Waaaay too easy to forget you're being watched and do something to get yourself fired. I would have to leave a note on the dash to remind myself that I'm being watched

want to drive a decked out company truck go to western out of Denver they dont pay worth a damm but you got a big blue high hp paccar
Great video! You did a terrific job of showing the features of the truck and answering questions that drivers need to know.
Thanks! 👍 Appreciate your comment!
Imagine you could with such a truck slide 50 years back with a time machine. I bet you would be the truck king.
WOW.. Makes we wish I was a driver. Hope the drivers keep them super clean. Just like a home.
"Our camera faces inward"
Me - annnnnndddd were moving on
Didn't know that Kenworth has the swivel seat for the driver side. Cool!
if you order it its a option
I run epic vue myself I’m glad to see your company presets up the trucks for it.
Mike Smith. I am a retired driver and small fleet owner. I have struggled for years to provide decent pay and equipment. You have purchased super nice KW's and all the negative comments make me sad and mad. The new breed of drivers certainly are different from my group. Hold on to your standards and pick only good drivers, who realize the safety aspect of the cameras.
All black truck and auto idle is set to 120 😂😂😂😂
I know there's an apu but in 100 degree heat that apu won't hang, hell not really even in 80 degrees, parked in the sun
But they can remotely change that. HELLO!!! By the time my APU shits the bed, the last thing dispatch is gonna wanna deal with is a driver "requesting" to idle.
Set the damn thing to 80 degrees and be done with it. No need to "Mother may I" a driver to death.
Paccar engine and inward camera, sorry im not bringing my professional experience to your company
Well sir there's a pandemic going around that is gonna stick for a while. You just never know if necesity is gonna strike ahead and it's gonna make you eat your words.
You'll be the first one applying for a job to drive this beautiful truck!

I try not to say never, but I prey I never have to work under a company that wants to sit in the office and watch me for their entertainment. These moments make me verify my maintenance account again to ensure I can keep my own truck running. If I have the idea to steal from that account, I just watch videos like this and it sets me straight. I would rather eat top ramen and drink tap water for dinner, than risk having to work for another perverted company watching me struggle to earn my living!
Put that camera in your office , and ooonlyyy at 110F you let the driver to use the engine if unit broken ? Shocked
I really don't have a problem with the forward facing camera but when it's in a truck watching you and what you're doing, that's invasion of privacy to me. Big brother watching you I would never work for a company like this.. I'm happy where I am.
Whole concept is Owellian
I am currently driving a 2020 T680 , your truck is much more equipped
Nice overview of all the key features!! Amazing how many features the new trucks have in them and especially for enhanced safety!! Big difference from when I compare this truck with my Dad's first new KW semi back in the '60s. The dash cam is the way to go when it comes to accidents, etc. You are giving your drivers a very nice package!!
I like this truck.. Good interior/exterior.. Realy bomb truck. Actualy needed complectation.
Other than the inward-facing camera, this is how companies should spec their trucks.
I think its a great idea. Would love to drive there .....beautiful truck !
@Smith Trucking Inc you are very welcome....i love your company. Outstanding I do not understand how you can afford all those beautiful trucks you must be really really smart..
@@Aintright890 either your real stupid or you are related to them
Very nice, 10 years over the road experience and accident free I imagine the requirements

There is no surveillance of our drivers...ever.
@@stacysmith8187 IT IS THE DRIVERS HOME24/7!!! AND IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU CAN'T TRUST A DRIVER SO YOU PUT A CAMERA IN THERE SPYING ON HIM/HER 24/7, YOU DON'T OWN THE COMPANY, THE INSURANCE COMPANY DOES. SAD WHAT YOU PEOPLE DO TO NOT WANT COMPETENT DRIVERS WHO DON'T NEED WATCHED.
Beautiful truck!! I personally have nothing against automatics. I've driven both withal I'm a manuel transmission guy, I still prefer manual. This won't change for me. Some driver's still prefer in having manual transmissions. I'm one of them. I don't mind shifting gears. In fact, it helps keep myself and driver's alert! Especially night driving. Automatic, you just relax, And when you relax, you may take a nap. On the road!
Wow beautifull truck I love it
I am planning to buy this truck. I am getting real good deal . Dealer said if put 50k down payment. He will give me this truck for 125k . I like this deal
Very nice features smith, but that forward facing camera on the driver man 👎. I really like that remote idle feature thing though. Because that apu is eventually going to put drivers down in the worst time.
That is one sharp looking T680!!!
Awesome truck!
What is the horse power in this engine? These days is the most
important thing for most drivers.
Great video but how do the seats operate and where is the high beam switch
Very nice trucks there guys, I live the tan color on the interior. It's almost enough to make me wanna quit 😂👌
Very good information you give me
Hey you have to give them credit they are honest and up front about the inward facing camera and the truck review was done well.
Amazing how a large Company Like Prime Inc. can say we will NEVER do this to our drivers but these little guys who try and save a few bucks on Insurance will say “No One Is Watching unless there is a critical Event”. Please what a load of crap. If you trusted your drivers you would have the inward facing cameras. Just another company saying we Appreciate you drivers BUT we don’t trust you. What a load of 💩
It is a complete load of crap. All companies with inward facing cameras periodically review the footage and dock the driver for things like texting, reaching for something, reading a map. Anything they can classify as distracted driving. Rack up one too many of these recorded incidences and you're history

The drivers privacy is taken very seriously and you could ask any of the current or past drivers and they would attest to this. Pretty certain we would have many negative reviews if we were abusing the cameras.
And it isn't about trusting our drivers, if we didn't they wouldn't be put behind the wheel in the first place, it is about protecting us and the drivers against false claims.
Well good luck with your both sides in camera.
I worked for a company out of Winter Haven, FL. When they started putting driver facing cameras in their trucks drivers were quitting.
We have had them for a long time, has not been a problem for us.
No automatics for me been driving 20yrs good video that front bumper sensor needs too go!!!!!!
I like American trucks. God Bless America! Be my friend brother.

You are very very good professional person
Nice truck
I love 680 and 579
Ultra loft w Cummins exelente
So does SMITH apply Cameras for ALL employess office shop etc . in the event of injury for insurance purposes. Or is this for drivers only
Hummer Trucking is forward facing only
Driver facing cameras? Couldn’t pay me enough to spy on me doing my job. No thanks. I’ll give you guys a call whenever you take that shit out of your trucks.
I bet you’re an oldy cause i actually heard a good reason why its usefull
Why would it ever be useful? You'd have to pay me a pretty high cpm to put me on camera all day. They pay you to drive not be a cam model.
Chris they make sure you’re paying attention to the road
Kinang Eagle you must not be a driver. If you are and are fine with someone watching you drive, that’s your opinion. But you won’t change my opinion or other drivers.
I can pay attention to the road fine enough without being spied on. If they are that paranoid then they are going to be overbearing. I've worked with micro managers I don't need one while I'm managing a 80,000 LBS vehicle. If it is a bus that is one thing I'm not going to live in a truck while being spied on.
Minnesota busines owner here myself that’s switching careers to cdl driving because of economic destruction of covid-19. Would love to work with a Minnesota company and someone that takes pride in their drivers and equipment. Should I even apply until I have a year driving?
Where in Minnesota are you at? We need to see 10 months of experience.
@@stacysmith8187 Hey Stacy! I am in Ramsey MN, but I wont bother taking up your time at this point. I will have my CDL first week in July (6 week course completetion is scheduled for that week). So no 10 months of experience. I have herd that new CDL holders end up working for very little at the mega carriers, which have enormous turnover. Thankyou though, and love your company and the cool trucks. - Aaron
A paccar engine, automatic, driver facing camera, governed speed, and a pull out fridge? No thanks, that is why owning your own truck is a good thing.
So beautiful please send more
Oh, and we do have some of these coming with Cummins ISX in them in a couple of months too.
No more isx, current Cummins nomenclature is X15, efficiency or performance ratings. The paccar fuel/water separators have been a disaster, especially in cold climate Minnesota. Rear facing camera would be the deal-breaker , are the front axles air suspended?
Take the driver facing cameras out. Drivers don’t want them. Disable the audio. Let the trucks idle when it gets above 85. 120 for the truck to idle? You guys are out of your damn mind. Whoever made THAT rule alone has clearly never tried to sleep during the day in 105 degree heat with an APU. News flash, an APU doesn’t work that great when it even reaches 95.
120° for a truck to idle... Clearly you all haven't spent any time in a sleeper around 100° it is already unbearable and a working APU can't keep up.
good job Mike
Beautiful truck. Thanks Mike.
One of the best eq @nd looking trucks on the road.
