Can you please help me by demonstrating or explaining how I can switch between two webcam guests? Do I need two computers or can I switch between them with one via Zoom?
Hola Aaron como va , yo me compre la roland v02HD mkii pero no puedo grabar en hd lo que estoy viendo en mis monitores , como puedo lograr esto? saludos Fabricio desde Buenos Aires Argentina
could you run 2 cameras into an HDMI splitter into one input channel of the Roland and switch between the 2 cameras with the splitter and have the other HDMI for a PC?
Technically yes, but those HDMI splitter things will cause the picture to flicker for a second or so while it resyncs. That's the benefit of using higher end switchers like this, which can keep the picture constant. If you want two cameras and a PC, you're probably best off with the ATEM Mini.
Hello, useful your presentation, i'm interested in buying the roland mixer but i would like to know if it works properly for a cromakey green screen workout. thank you
Michael Bruchas yea that should work with the Luma key. You can also do it with a green background and chroma key it. I am almost done editing a new video where i run through those options so subscribe to be notified when it's published!
cowglow I forgot to mention the audio completely! There are a few different options and there's a 1/8" jack too. Maybe I'll have to do another video about just the audio features!
Thanks for the video Aaron. Could you also list the program video recorder you're using as well as the preview monitor you're using in your setup? Thanks.
Thx very helpful. If you config two cameras video switcher (Cam1 and Cam2) Cam 1 receive the good sound (xlr for example), Cam 2 use the camera microphones (bad audio) Can you set the audio from Cam 1 (HMDI) be the only audio
Howdy. I watched your clip on Chromakeying. I have had a devil of a time trying to Chromakey. I have a pro setup and my system works really well, but I cannot get my new device (purchased because you got me interested in it.) to key well at all. Any ideas?
There is a Audio follows video (from HDMI), or you can mute the audio from hdmi and use the external input 3.5mm stereo input. The audio section is very powerful: Input audio: delay, high pass filter, Noise gate, Compressor, equalizer and make up gain. On the output audio: Limiter, equalizer, multiband compressor. Amazing! I am using mine basically as an audio effects.
At this point I can't really recommend the V-02HD when it's more expensive than the base model ATEM Mini which has 4 inputs and more features. The only advantage is that it has a foot pedal for switching cameras, or if you really like the T-bar.
@@aaronpk For a solo shooter, streaming with two cameras, the foot switch and tripod mount is very appealing. Thinking of buying as a smaller setup to my Extreme. Are there any others I should be considering?
You have a new SUBSCRIBER I just Purchased mine have you made a video on using 2 cameras with it that's what I will be using it for if so do the cameras have to be the same cameras
They don't have to be the same cameras! Both inputs have scalers, so they can accept a huge variety of different inputs. I haven't made a video about using it with two cameras since that's kind of the default thing people do with it.
This lil guy looks great! Question, can you use the second out, as also a main out as opposed to a preview? Basically so that you can send the signal to projectors acting as a splitter?
@@aaronpk last question. on Amazon they have the pac 1 vs pac 2 versions of the same unit. However I can't find the difference between the two, aside form the $50 price change. Do you know what the pac 2 comes with it that the pac 1 does not?
The reason your editing time takes so long is because you cannot tell more then a few words before you have to brake the video. I guess you could win a lot of post time by learning the lines a tiny bit better :)
Aaron.. ok so just some helpful love here... Your audio levels are way too low... I had to bump up my volume a bunch to hear you well enough.... the other issue you could use some feedback on is your own speech. You talk way to fast, so that you sound like this..."ThesearesomofmyfavoritethingaboutheRolandV-02HDvideoswitcher" Example at 2:58. Your words run together, that with the poor audio, and in several spots you sound mumbly... or the last word or two of your sentence falls off, it makes the video is pretty unwatchable. UA-cam is a visual and auditory medium, you could benefit from a bit of practice with your presentations, listen back and work on these things, Above all you should enunciate, slow down, speak louder and adjust your audio to better levels and maybe get a good quality lav mic. Good luck, Aaron!
@@aaronpk Fair enough, Aaron. Looked at one of your videos from a week or so ago, and there has been some audio/video quality, but I still believe you could slow your speech, enunciate better and try using a Lav mic... These are really little points, but IMHO a worthy note to try. BTW, the video I watched was your video on how to buy the BlackMagic ATEM Mini... REALLY got some useful information, good job and thanks for the tips!
Great rundown Aaron, glad you are enjoying the V-02HD!
How many cameras can you connect
Can you please help me by demonstrating or explaining how I can switch between two webcam guests? Do I need two computers or can I switch between them with one via Zoom?
It was so helpful. Thank you~
Thanks for this video, how i can use this with atem mini pro? Is it worth buying it if i had the atem mini pro? Or it can do the additional things.

Still using mine. I've added an HDMI switcher to give me a computer for graphics (PowerPoint with chroma key green background) and 2 more cameras.
Very good review

@@aaronpk Thanks, been on a list for an Atem mini for 3 months now so just trying to find alternatives.

Marco Bone I published a video showing how the to use the green screen feature, check it out here ua-cam.com/video/FMoKBzbKfD4/v-deo.html
If you have key live titles - can you use PowerPoint with type on black?
Michael Bruchas yea that should work with the Luma key. You can also do it with a green background and chroma key it. I am almost done editing a new video where i run through those options so subscribe to be notified when it's published!
Don't forget about the audio. Or do you have another solution. I'd be interested in watching that video also. Cool videos

Awesome review
Thanks for the video Aaron. Could you also list the program video recorder you're using as well as the preview monitor you're using in your setup? Thanks.
His monitor appears to be a Viltrox DC-50. The recorder appears to be a Blackmagic Video Assist 5".
Thank you.
I ended up buying one on clearance from B&H in December 2021…
Thx very helpful.
If you config two cameras video switcher (Cam1 and Cam2)

Can you set the audio from Cam 1 (HMDI) be the only audio
Yes you can! I didn't go into the audio configuration in this overview, but I will make sure to cover that in a future video!
Nice overview
Does this switcher work with OBS for streaming?
You can certainly use it with OBS, but you'll need an HDMI capture card. This switcher doesn't provide USB video output.
Do the scalers prevent any glitches in switching? Own a V1-HD. Like the still grab on this little switcher!
Once it's scaled, it acts like any other video source with smooth switching. From what I can tell, the V-1HD is like the big brother of this one.
Hey how do you cut between the two cameras?
You can slide the bar on top to switch between the two cameras. There's also a button that does an immediate cut.
hy Aaron
how loud is the mixer? is the fan noisy?
what portable video recorder are you using
It's the Blackmagic Video Assist. Not cheap, but it's fantastic.

The trick to getting a good chroma key is the lighting. Without an evenly lit background, and good lighting on the subject, it won't come out at all.
What about audio?
There is a Audio follows video (from HDMI), or you can mute the audio from hdmi and use the external input 3.5mm stereo input. The audio section is very powerful: Input audio: delay, high pass filter, Noise gate, Compressor, equalizer and make up gain. On the output audio: Limiter, equalizer, multiband compressor. Amazing!

Aaron are you still using the Roland or do you recommend something else?
At this point I can't really recommend the V-02HD when it's more expensive than the base model ATEM Mini which has 4 inputs and more features. The only advantage is that it has a foot pedal for switching cameras, or if you really like the T-bar.

How do u record ur mixes?
I usually use a standalone HDMI recorder like this one: amzn.to/31S3p8u

Yes! I did that at a recent event actually! One copy went to the projector in the room, the other went to the livestream.

I think that is the different pedal controller. the PAC2 is a two-pedal controller the PAC1 is just one pedal.
@@aaronpk got it, thanks!
LOve it.... I want one!
What recorder are you using
I've been using the Blackmagic Video Assist lately, works great!
Aaron! Could you help me? What kind of recorder do you use after the V-O2HD?
I usually use the Blackmagic Video Assist. There's a link to it in the description!
Aaron Parecki thanks!!
Great video! What is the name of the recorder?
El Silossos thanks! That's the Blackmagic Video Assist

Kinda obsolete now. Atem mini at double the inputs and half the price
Could the key be used for lower thirds from a computer via powerpoint? You could use a HDMI splitter for your second camera and the laptop.
