- In this video I go over the identifying features of Boletus pseudopinophilus aka the Eastern Pinewoods King Bolete. These characteristics are the common features of all of our southeastern edulis clade boletes. Very meticulous and thoughtful video. I'm running into this mushroom in Virginia pine plantation.
Thank you so much. And, lucky you! They are one of my favorites..
YAKMAN HERE ! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK !!
Thank you!
Beautifully done....Thanks Buddy!
Thanks for watching Pop!! I love you!
Hey, buddy! I live in the Black Mountain area and I'm new to mycology. I have tons of different types in a 5 mile radius, and I was wondering if you are in a club. I have documented many already, but would love to get better at identifying. Are you available to teach?
Hey Josh, thanks for checking out my channel! I am currently not available to teach, but I’m working towards it. I’m not a member of any clubs. I’m just a self taught forager with a whole lot of years nerding out in the woods. If all goes well and I can manage to get my act together through this winter I hope to offer some classes/guided walks starting next year. I’ll definitely post updates as I get closer to that. Thanks again!
@@RootAndEarth Thanks! Keep up the great content!
As far as temperature, and drying it just depends on species. For boletes and many edible species I’ll lay them in the sun for a good portion of drying in order to let them concentrate vitamin D and then finish them in the dehydrator at around 100 F.
