I've been waiting to find another entertaining camping channel since "Camping With Steve,"when lo and behold, you show up on the homepage. Greetings from Maryland
Dude, that piece of tarp you are looking at is the seam tape. That’s what makes it waterproof by taking 2 individual pieces , sewing them together and then taping the seam to make 1 whole tarp. You need to buy seam Sealer and more seam tape. Watch videos on seam sealing so you are soaked when you no longer have a waterproof tarp.
Hahaha really with the zombies LMAO!!! Dude that was such a great small plot. Glad I could make a cameo haha! We gotta firm up plans at some point soon.
Small Plots is almost like an olde-time radio show with Kevin's commentary and narration. I can do other stuff and listen to it, but it's still entertaining.
Ahahahaha! Woodpeckers pecking metal! I know I should feel bad but that was funny. Probably a mating dance. I hope neither of them bashed their beaks up too hard on the metal.
You have to cook those tortillas some. Just toss it on the coals and let it cook a bit and wallah great tasting tortilla it doesn't break just add tuna creations. Love the channel Small Plots with Kevin, I'm Kevin
Kevin my friend. Love your video's man. I appreciate a man like you and what you do. One thing I want to point out is " it's easier if you dress up like the area or environment that you stealth camp in". It conceals your presence better so no one will see or find you sir. I'm talking about camouflage and not military but hunting camouflage. Get you some "REAL TREE" as it blends in with your surroundings and you won't get caught". When I camp in secret, I do that because I hate uninvited and unwanted company.
I love your videos. I'm from Brooklyn, NY and visited my friend who moved to Rochester in November. Lovely city. Very different life from NYC. Lots of nature. The drive was a killer though
Hi Kevin, Deer hunter’s mark off the trees, to lead themselves into their deer blinds, early in the morning. I, myself would tie off blaze orange ribbons, to branches, then untie them when I was finished hunting. Can’t wait to see You and, Sam Banana. I’m in St. Charles, Illinois. A lot of places around by me. I’m around SQWIB’s age.
Hey Kevin, awesome video as always. Thank you 😊 for sharing. I wanted to make sure someone has told you about your tarp and I see they have so that's awesome. I hope you were able to get it fixed that sucks that you had to refix something that costs a small fortune ugh 😑 but that's life for ya 😆 🤣 KEEP ADVENTURING GOD BLESS YOU
You can get seam sealer and repair that seam ,even if you only do a few feet at a time , might take a couple days , use a small hobby craft paint brush and weigh it down with some books or 2+4
Hey Kevin,I’m a new subscriber from NC. I love your channel. Your style of “no frills”camping I believe is awesome! I consider your tuna, lighter, and good sleeping bag pretty much all you need. You’ve inspired me to go camping again.👍Thanks can’t wait till your next video.
Pro tip for stealthy beer can cracking: One hand to crack it as normal, but put the thumb of the other hand over the opening because it muffles the sound significantly. Other than that, you could always just get a 40 and unscrew the top of the beer. That lets you easily cap it and hide it if someone comes. I'm surprised students looked at you weird since, when I went to college, lots of people were sleeping right in the parking lot.
That’s seam tape, you’d be in bad shape if you got rained on with it coming off like that. Most stores that sell camping gear will have new seam tape. You just have to get the old off including the adhesive left behind if there is any, iron on the new with a towel between the iron and the tarp and you’re good to go!
Hey Small Plots. Great video, and fun to watch. Um..... the sounds made when cars change lanes on highways are from the tires running over reflectors called "delinear buttons," and I don't know why I know that (?).
Awesome video! Like the production and how the channel has grown since that first video. Like Joe’s Place commented, strip is seam sealer. You can repair it by mixing silicone with mineral spirits. Just mix to the right consistency and then brush on.
"People going to school, people going to work and...... I'm going camping" God bless you kevin! The road less travelled! A genius nay a guru for our troubled times! Love it!!
Those painful faux Wellington boots were made for… strutting the catwalk, Kevin. You're stylish in outfit and impeccable in presentation. Luv the back to the present vid, man ;-{)🖖
Dam Kevin, I was hoping you would power through some STICKERS!. I'll take the thorn bushes over the swamp. You sure the jogger at sundown wasn't running from the "hash slinging slasher". You can fix that tape seam. with Seam Seal. Canada geese remember,😂. Yep... Completely invisible, master of Stealth. Thanks Kevin, love spending my evening with you.
@@smallplots oops, sorry, lol i was trying to give you a compliment haha i just meant.........i enjoy the videos .........but they are *Extra* fun when i'm less than sober haha 😂
Having a campfire means you can eat wonderful food! Take that packaged tuna, toss into a cast iron skillet, heat up, then warm the tortilla. A wonderful hot, grilled meal!
Dewey Ave. Smoke Shop!! iS IT STILL THERE? was a place i visited often.also went to roller skate inside rink on friday nights.we were 12 through 14 was soo much fun.
Hello Kevin, I just started my channel about camping. I found camping with Sam bananas and he mentioned you with his call about ALLEGHENY national forest and I’m here. Subscribed…
i got out and explored a brand new route on my bike yesterday, mostly inspired by your videos, feels great! 😀 i usually don't feel safe out in heavily wooded areas alone, when i was a kid i was a sprinter, could zip away from danger, but these dayss not so much! haha 😂 but local authorities built a new set of trails up and down the hills here to a river valley, so i plucked up the courage to try them out, more or less had the place to myself middle of the day on a Sunday which was perfect! (the very long hard steep climb back home, probably puts most off)
Hello Kevin . Can't believe it been s yr already . Sweet job on this episode. Those things on the Expressway that make that sound when you drive over them are called Rumble Strips . One more thing but I had to re Subscribe and do the bell thingy again and not sure why . See ya next week . Take care .
In case no one else has mentioned this yet, that is a taped seam. If it comes off it will leak through stitching. Buy some seam sealant and paint it on and thatbwill save your taro
Yes it is seam tape to keep it from leaking at the seam you can buy new and redo it. What you were talking about the sound on the road they are called rumble strips it let you know you are out of your lane.
That strip looks like seam tape which was probably put there to hold the stitch until it was completed or sealed. It shouldn't have anything to do with waterproofing.
Tortillas also do better as far as not breaking, first, if they are pretty fresh, but second, if they are toasted a little bit over the fire. If you have an old tortilla and there's nothing you can do, which is true through much of the US for those who don't live close enough to Mexico like I do, you can always get the older tortilla a little wet and then toast it. They are much less likely to break that way. I have found that Costco, at least in California, does sell uncooked tortillas in the freezer section and all you have to do is throw them on a frying pan just as they are. You can put oil or butter if you want, but it's not necessary. Those are about the best damn tortillas I've ever eaten short of eating some from an actual tortilla factory but their process it the same.
@@smallplots Definitely not. Hell, my mom has made them before and she's a gringo like I am. We did grow and process our own tortilla corn though. I just know that if they toasted a little, they don't tend to break but, if they're old, they still struggle to hold the food even when you do toast them. I eat a lot of these things, particularly the corn ones that are much more likely to break on you. Love your videos, man!
Thanks for the video! That strip is a seam sealer thing isn't it? I'd glue it or silicone it back on or something if it were mine, I'm betting it keeps the thing from leaking water through the stitches. The real question though is.. what kind of pants are those?
Wow. I left the city years ago and it's nice to see they waste millions of dollars redoing the bike path on Exchange Street and all they did was cut down all the lovely trees.
Dude they did a metric ton more than just chop trees down. It's a whole new riverside park with better amenities and boat access, an enormous improvement.
Was really hoping green-woods-jogger would roll by like clockwork again and be interviewed but pretty sure after last year he never returned to those woods.
