Dear Savage, This may be completely beneath you, but I always wondered what your take on an estes custom model rocket would be. Easy one day build even if you had a pro series rocket.
You were so kind to him.Its nice to see you fake all that excitement for him.The phrase,"20 years ago that would have been difficult" killed me,as in,nowadays Grant would have had that done better in 30 seconds lol
I am honestly in love with the fact that they are doing a lot of practical effects. It would have been 'easy' to say CGI this or CGI that little thing. But we can tell. I am glad you have fun there, Adam!
Yes! I was most impressed that the glass shattering is practical. That's only done CGI now. Though I won't be watching the movie because I want a comedy Ghostbusters. Still applaud them for going practical. But no effects can make up for a script you fundamentally disagree with.
I’m happy to also see that they are going “old school” in making their own REAL props instead of some cheesy CGI. All this is not cheap though. Let’s hope the movie does well when it comes out.
@@onslaught147i am ok without it being a comedy. But I found 2016 funny and most people wouldnt even watch it. My problem is the child labor. Is the kid at least 18 in this one? OSHA would have major issues with afterlife
my uncle made prop vehicles for movies back in the day, so this stuff fascinates me. thanks to all the men and women behind the scenes giving all these amazing practical effects. I do want the Discman though, it's adorable in a cute and sassy way.
Back on the 90 I got one of those sport discman for a birthday, and that hinge was actually strong many times I struggled to open it, and the first thing I’ve taught when I’ve seen the same model was how they achieved to move that hinged lock before opening the top part, and the way was made its truly magnificent, I believe that the true heroes of the cinema are all those incredible people behind the camera, that you can’t see directly but you can see their outstanding work
I love these videos.. allows us to know about the props before watching the movie so when we see the movie we can know exactly how it was made and the work the VFX artist put in to make it even more epic, well done everyone 🤝
Another fantastic video! So impressed by the engineering and thought put into this film. I can't wait to see it this weekend! Keep up the excellent work Tested team!
Another amazing video Adam. Loved you on Triumps the Insult Comic Dogs comedy panel show he posted a few days ago btw. You're so damn lucky to be on that amazing set and showing us the awesome content the only way you can. Keep up the amazing work as always.❤❤❤❤
Electronics really have come a long way to where you can do practical effects like this. Adam is right, this would have been a lot harder to do 20 years ago. You see hollywood? You don't have to make everything CGI.
Got my tickets to see all these wonderful toys in action tonight! So excited! Now, I just need to remember to go to the theater after work, and not home... That would be annoying...
What a time to be alive, remember liars club. My brother Jeff was working at universal and OMG what a hoot! 65 now we need to be masters at our craft I love your stories, I got a zillion. Peace brother I hope I can look you up next time I'm at the Masonic Lodge knob hill. Trust me I got stories. Joes Garage!! It's a Zappa thing
ok... the lively CD player guy needs to become a Tested employee...I would love to see these two make props together...that was a joy to watch...and why is all of the special effects guys coming out of Australia...it is like Adam had a destiny...Australia's Beyond Television Productions is awesome
CGI is great in certain instances, but working in film for the last 30 years it is not anywhere near the skill of these practical FX guys. Yeah practical still rules!!! Awesome series and with on of my fave franchises, thank you Adam! And to all the skill behind the camera for what you put in front of the camera, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I just got out of Ghost busters and couldn't stop spoiling all the things you showed us lol from the very first scene I was like "he's going to touch it and will explodE" I then tried explainnig how its a bunch of wires and fake Ice to which noone cared lol but nonetheless you gave me invaluable insight. And the proton pack sparks wow really got me going =
Super it's very interesting to see all this behind the scenes. I love the first series of Hunters. Each episode is interesting in its own way. I guess I'm very conservative hahaha
I have that model of cylinder player but it is all original without the "possession" enhancements. Must be modern plastics in the ejected cylinder, the originals are quite brittle.
I see where Adam gets all his material from for his British accent he used to put on sometimes on Mythbusters… every special effect bloke is British 💪🏼😂🇬🇧
It's disappointing to see things completely gutted but I think that phonograph player is really well done like it almost looks like it could still function? Just with modern controls on the inside. Fantastic.
Very, very interesting and a line of work I would love to have been involved with. Unfortunately I have zero motivation to see the film for reasons not worth mentioning here.
A common misconception is that old phonographs had to be constantly wound. Actually the crank would be turned 10 to 20 times to wind up a spring. and then the cylinder would be switched on and play the record. (Of course I suppose if ghosts are possessing something all bets are off. Ha)
that hand crank might also be done with a lighter material hand and a black string from the knuckles to a weight. that'd keep the hand approximately aligned to a person turning it. and an invisible string wouldn't be hard to hide in the dark lighting. also quicker and easier to create and fix. but, not as flexible, if you actually want to make it spin at a different rate than the handle.
It's a shame that the phonograph in the movie that Patton plays has no needle on the stylus, and he pushes the knob you're supposed to pull to drop the needle onto the tube. Must've been haunted.

cool
That's funny.
I wanted to make an anamatronic Sony Diskman in high-school in 1997. 😂
How much they paying to you to promote ghost buster like crazy on a daily base
Dear Savage,
This may be completely beneath you, but I always wondered what your take on an estes custom model rocket would be. Easy one day build even if you had a pro series rocket.

Same! Knowing that they made the decision will make me appreciate the film even more.
Yes! I was most impressed that the glass shattering is practical. That's only done CGI now.

Seeing this makes me appreciate how many jobs and opportunities create given how critically the movie is being panned.
@@onslaught147i am ok without it being a comedy. But I found 2016 funny and most people wouldnt even watch it. My problem is the child labor. Is the kid at least 18 in this one? OSHA would have major issues with afterlife
I would be so tempted to add googly eyes onto the Discman.
I love the legit joy that Adam gets from seen these things operating :) And the respect and excitement that shows to the makers.
my uncle made prop vehicles for movies back in the day, so this stuff fascinates me. thanks to all the men and women behind the scenes giving all these amazing practical effects.
I do want the Discman though, it's adorable in a cute and sassy way.
It's great seeing practical effects like this being done
Man those guys must really appreciate Adam with his knowledge and enthusiasm! They must be like… this guy gets it!!
I just finished watching the movie. Amazing to see how much is practical and the sets are very good.
I could watch a thousand of these episodes and never get bored, this Prop Store and Earl Hayes are just magic to me, a real happy place.
You're enthusiasm is just infectious Adam. You just bring out the best in the people you interact with. Fantastic to see real effects being used.
Come on!! How cool would it be to go to work and create like this every day? It's so awesome that they're allowing Adam access to all this. I love it!
These special effects guys are brilliant !!! ❤❤❤
Back on the 90 I got one of those sport discman for a birthday, and that hinge was actually strong many times I struggled to open it, and the first thing I’ve taught when I’ve seen the same model was how they achieved to move that hinged lock before opening the top part, and the way was made its truly magnificent, I believe that the true heroes of the cinema are all those incredible people behind the camera, that you can’t see directly but you can see their outstanding work
Adam Savage would be a perfect host for a series like that old tv show "Movie Magic" he is so awesome how he gets very enthusiastic about everything
Looking forward to seeing all these practical effects.
That stuff is SO cool. Those guys seem like they have great jobs.
I'm loving these behind the scenes of special effects videos 👍
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
I cannot wait to see this movie! These behind the props videos are awesome
I love these videos.. allows us to know about the props before watching the movie so when we see the movie we can know exactly how it was made and the work the VFX artist put in to make it even more epic, well done everyone 🤝
So awesome. Getting such nice effects with so simple and easy mechanisms!
I just LOVE, LOVE seeing things like this! I am always interested in how things operate!
This is amazing! More of this please.
Amazing. I love this series you have going on about Ghostbusters. This to me is like the definition of what movie magic is.
Am I weird in that I was looking forward to Adam’s videos about this stuff as much as I am for the movie?
Loving these vids, not gonna bother with the movie.
I'd have been looking forward to them more if he covered stuff fans actually want to make, like the new gear and not a discman
If not more than.
nope. Not weird at all unless we all are 😂
Absolutely not
you bring us all great joy with your many years of entertainment. Thank you !!
I love how these are all ‘old’ British guys. Amazing talent on show. Hope they are passing their skills on to some ‘young ‘uns’ off camera! 😀
Another fantastic video! So impressed by the engineering and thought put into this film. I can't wait to see it this weekend! Keep up the excellent work Tested team!
This is just so great. Wow so many practical effects, just amazing.
So glad you're doing stuff on camera again Adam. I'd love to build with you sometime
Delightful, charming, ingenious.
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
You gotta love practical effects.
I watched it after work today. Really enjoyed the film and all the references and homages, and as always I look forward to any videos on the subject.
Adam you look like a kid in a candy store. I'd be acting exactly like you are if I were in your spot man. That's freaking amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adam, we demand that you do a One Day Build of that Sony Discman prop replica.
Not every day anymore that you get to hear a Adam Savage countdown to something new shooting off!
THIS IS AWSOME
Holy cow that cylinder player is amazing!
Just saw the movie! It was great! So happy with the effects. It surpassed my expectations.
Can't wait to see this this weekend!
Great practical effects really contribute a much better feel; kinda' going full circle
I seriously can't wait to see these in action when I see the movie. This is so awesome to see before the release. ❤
These guys are brilliant! Amazing!
So friggin cool.

practical fx for the win!
cant wait to see it!!
I really did miss my forte, i love prop building/construction and especially problem solving, 2 great skills to have
I find this stuff fascinating.
Nothing beats the dancing toaster!😂
I get weebo (from flubber) vibes from the sony disc man. Wonderful video as per usual guys!
I hope they have some interns working with these experts to learn the tricks of the trade they've worked out over their careers!
This content may be sponsored by the movie studio, but all of Adam's joy and fascination is 100% genuine 😊

Garage!! It's a Zappa thing
Tommorow makes me excited.
watched the movie last night, i honestly thought the cylinder popping off was CG so cool that it was practical
My group the Capitol Ghostbusters have been requested to go to the Ottawa theater tonight to mingle with the crowd and see the movie can't wait.
Pretty cool I know work’s differently but kinda of a nod to the dancing slime toaster in ghostbusters 2
Very cool.
The disc man’s are kinda cute lol
They go for 60+ online.
They were out of my price range back in the day. I felt swank for having the Walkman. 😁
Everyone I’m meaning the possessed ones lol
ok... the lively CD player guy needs to become a Tested employee...I would love to see these two make props together...that was a joy to watch...and why is all of the special effects guys coming out of Australia...it is like Adam had a destiny...Australia's Beyond Television Productions is awesome
They were English, I think they may be filming in Elstree?
I have a friend named Alan that used to work there with the first Ghostbusters set.
I am deffinatly in the wrong business! 😢
That looks so fun, to create special effects and animatronics.
I want a Proton Pack... that works!
Will we see these things in Ray's Occult Shop? Or maybe in another scene where there's a movie marquee advertising the film CANNIBAL GIRLS yet again?
Thanks.
Dang it. Now I want to build one.
Saw the film yesterday both of these props got a laugh. 😂
You guys should build the next James Bond cars & boats!
Would love seeing the walkman spit CDs
I just got out of Ghost busters and couldn't stop spoiling all the things you showed us lol from the very first scene I was like "he's going to touch it and will explodE" I then tried explainnig how its a bunch of wires and fake Ice to which noone cared lol but nonetheless you gave me invaluable insight. "It has a personality!" The Ghostbusters/Muppet Show crossover.
I definitely went into the wrong business. My hats of to prop makers. I wish I had the talent.
The genuine glee when the DC chomper catches Adam's finger.
these should be on sale
I am a circuit board designer for Amazon Satellites but I always dreamed of doing this kind of work. Thank you so much for showing this.
this really is the movie series heir to Stranger Things: 80's energy, and kids having a blast onscreen
RIP Sony Discman prices on eBay
Super it's very interesting to see all this behind the scenes. I love the first series of Hunters. Each episode is interesting in its own way. I guess I'm very conservative hahaha
That's the fun of being a maker.. showing off your stuff.
I have that model of cylinder player but it is all original without the "possession" enhancements. Must be modern plastics in the ejected cylinder, the originals are quite brittle.
I see where Adam gets all his material from for his British accent he used to put on sometimes on Mythbusters… every special effect bloke is British 💪🏼😂🇬🇧
love it 👍👍
The Discman guy ONLY will activate the Discmans if you put your hand near it. That's SO FUNNY!!! Hahahahahah
The Discman is hilarious!!
It's disappointing to see things completely gutted but I think that phonograph player is really well done like it almost looks like it could still function? Just with modern controls on the inside. Fantastic.
This was such a fun movie to watch. I know the reviews are lukewarm but truly it was fun to watch with amazing practical effects. Go watch it.
I want one, I'd leave it somewhere and wait for someone to pick it up.😁
Great video sir
Is that a CD player? Is the new Ghostbusters set in the past? I'm confused. Guess I need to see it. LOL
Very, very interesting and a line of work I would love to have been involved with. Unfortunately I have zero motivation to see the film for reasons not worth mentioning here.
James bond the later years.... Q and bond having retired from espionage have gone into prop manufacturing. -End Scene

Adam a couple years back you started building a scale model of ecto 1. Is their any chance you are going to finish it
Am I the only one waiting to see Adam make his own possessed Discman?
It's a shame that the phonograph in the movie that Patton plays has no needle on the stylus, and he pushes the knob you're supposed to pull to drop the needle onto the tube. Must've been haunted.
