Akira is insane. So is this song. This AMV was me partying for two days straight.
Akira is one of the first Anime I ever watched. It's save to say that both the Anime and the Manga are very dear to my heart. So far I limited myself to not editing to it. Mainly because a bunch of good AMVs to it already exist. Then this song happened.

Hello. Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words. I like FMA and i once tried to edit to it, but that was more of a comedy AMV. The project is currently on hold and i doubt that i'll pick it up any time soon. I'm currently preparing another Lupin AMV but that one will take me some time. I will release at least one more AMV this year, probably in November if i had to guess. I'm much more into Full Metal Panic than FMA and there will probably be some AMVs to it in 2018. Anyway thank you for your support. It's these comments that make me want to edit, even if not all AMVs turn out to be great.
I dare say this in some ways is actually superior to the original film. Comparing your AMVs to the source material, you seem to have a knack for tightening up the plots and emphasizing the themes present in the originals.
I like to focus on the parts of a source that work best for me. There's always side plots that are needed for a movie to work but don't fit into a 3 min AMV. I like the challenge of working around those to make the parts that work great in the source material, also work great in an AMV. Anyway thank you for the kind words.
Not going to lie that was balls to the walls haha fast paced and good tempo. Man honestly any badass techno goes with Akira anyday of the week.

+M'o'l contrast of music and Anime? I was always a little annoyed that Akira AMVs had to have crazy ass techno music only because one person did it right years ago. It's always good to take a fresh perspective on things. Especially if there already a a billion AMVs to that Anime.

Everything -the visual rhythm and choice of shots and camera movement combinations (and the fact that you still somehow managed to do it chronologically)- is just so brilliantly done. My two favourite AMVs on UA-cam are this and a Lupin one and surprise surprise, you have actually made both xD

I Am an artist/animator, and I was planning on making a recreation of the manga into a movie, that is, if I ask for permission to use katsuhiro otomo's content
That would be amazing but the budget for the movie was already insanely huge in 1980s Japan where the economy was booming, the anime industry was still relatively young and experimental, and people had the money to have fun and push boundaries. I imagine an entire faithful series would cost a fortune... (or it would just be heavily edited, cheaply animated and intensely disappointing). I'm just happy we have the mind-blowingly beautiful film and the brilliant manga... even if it does mean having over 2000 pages to fit in my small bookcase :/

I really like this AMV and I cut it to make one myself. Of course I credited you the source and I do make my own AMVs. Don't wanna sound like a dick and just take works from others and that's it. If you're okay with it but if not I can take it down

But i personally do not like it when people use my AMVs to create their own. And honestly i think you could have done so much better with yours if you just used the film. It would have taken you slightly longer but on the other hand also feel much more earned. For the future please refrain from using other peoples AMVs.
