Resident Evil is my favorite video game franchise of all time and I want to talk about it. Every single game. Next is an extremely important release for the series...and it wasn't even a new story or anything. It's time for the remake of Resident Evil 1. This is Part 8 of my Resident Evil retrospective. Check out parts 1-7 first in the playlist:

I loved the first person camera perspective of Joseph during the intro. Felt very immersive. They brought the idea back with Hunks team in 2make
The HD Remaster of this game was my first RE game. That first play through was an incredible experience.
My biggest regret was that I already knew Barry was supposed to be a good guy, so I knew he wasn’t the traitor. Unlike the OG RE1, this game does portray Barry as a possible suspect, like when he leaves your for dead in the caves.
Oh, how I envy anyone who got to go into this game 100% blind!
Me👋. My friend had the jump before I got to play it on PSX. I went from being scared to fight zombies to knowing where all the enemies and items were. I still have the PAL version of director's cut on my PS mini classic.
First game I bought for the GameCube. It really set the tone for what remakes should be going forward, not just for Resident Evil but every game remake.
I still find it bizarre that we got so many M rated RE Capcom exclusives (or timed exclusives) on the Gamecube while the PS2 got the scraps (Outbreak, Dead Aim)
They had a contract with nintendo. I saw it in another video
Nintendo tried hard with GameCube to attract the older gamers that bought PlayStation/Sega for more mature games. Besides getting RE, they also published two M rated games too, Eternal Darkness and Geist.
I miss GameCube Nintendo. They actually tried to compete with the other console rivals and focused on gaming over annoying gimmicks.
@@Gruntvc They also published the Metal Gear Solid remake on the GameCube which was made by the same team who made Eternal Darkness.
@@GruntvcNot to mention letting Killer 7 be made for the GameCube.
Um minor correction. Devil may cry never came out on the gamecube or the original xbox, it was a ps2 exclusive
Best Resident Evil and probably best Remake ever
It is, I find 2, 3 and 4 were just darker with half the game taken out. It's soulless.
16:50 I bet Wesker REALLY regrets doing that lmao
No.
He had instructions to test other Bioweapons like Hunters, Neptune sharks and possibly Tyrant.
He was hoping that at least one of STARS would survive to test them all. Chris, Jill and *especially Rebecca* exceeded his expectations. 😂
I have many fond memories of playing this game with my brother during our summer vacations
28:50 😮
The fact that from sales of GameCube 20 mil and RE Remake 1 mil, means that *Every 20th GameCube owner had RE Remake* is still impressive.
This was my first Resident Evil game and honestly the game that set my personal benchmark for what a remake should me. Never really got into survival horror games because I just couldn't get accustomed to traditional tank controls, but the Type C option in REmake was a huge game changer for me.
That looks like an awesome game. Thx for another entertaining video ^^
I forget what music video that clip is from, but it is always hilarious she is made that her BF is not answering her excel lol
Shroom boys
22:40 🤔
I believe the handgun in hallway was Jill's.
It was dropped by her during her struggle with Wesker.
Makes sense now. 😊
I…never even thought of this. That’s a good point. But what DID happen to his gun?
@@Paraspectre Maybe he dropped it in the forest as he ran from infected dogs 🐕🌳🌳
The resemblance is uncanny
DMC1 only got released for PS2 on 2001
You mean *PS2* , right? 🤔
@@meziembamara4004 Yes, my bad.
RE4 on GameCube is probably my favorite RE to this day, but RE1 Remake 2002 is awesome too. Wish it sold better and we got actual remakes for RE2 and especially RE3 Nemesis like RE1 Remake back then.
At least the GameCube ports of RE2 and RE3 Nemesis are pretty good. Shame GameCube didn't get ports for Dino Crisis 1&2.
Niqqa said "probably top 5" 😂
I said what I said 😎
2002… I remember how the Game Boy Advanced pulled out nation our of the horrors of 9/11
Isn't it called Arklay mansion and not Arclay, or am i tripping?😅
Suscribed😊
The only remake that surpassed the original. RE2, 3, and 4 were all soulless turds that's just more dark minus 50% contents and fun.
I liked RE2 2019, but they didn't even try to replicate the zapping system and actual A/B scenarios of the original 1998 RE2. B scenarios in particular were weak.
RE3 Failmake utterly fails to even try to replicate the original 1999 RE3 Nemesis.
RE4 Remake is 8/10 at best, but it really didn't need to exist as the original still holds up and is widely available. RE CV, 0, Survivor, or Outbreak could actually benefit from remakes.

That first resident evil is still one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen
The first entry is linda faithful to the game. However, from the second movie onwards, It turned into a dumpsterfire, a cheap Matrix wannabe with nothing of the franchise, except the zombies and the name.
