Resident Evil is my favorite video game franchise of all time and I want to talk about it. Every single game. This is the first official release for one of the many spinoff Resident Evil games. It's uh...an iffy one. This is Part 4 of my Resident Evil retrospective.

I'm glad this channel just got pushed to me, just listened to these 4 videos in the playlist. Very easy to listen to, it's a nice change to hear someone talk about these classics who's not necessarily a fanboy, but obviously has real love and admiration for the series. Also the game facts are a great touch
Paraspectre is a great channel. There is a good amount of Pokemon content (came here for Pokemon Trading Card Game challenge vids) but there's other video game related content too 🙂👍
I like how I'm like one of five people who actually liked this game.
Its got an enjoyable charm to it, all games from 1996 to 2015s revelations 2 had a unique charm to them really. None of them were bad in my opinion. Frustrating at times sure but not bad.

Aww I loved this one. We had the lightgun support in Europe, but you're not really missing much in north america. Most of the lightguns from the time don't work anymore anyway, so you can only really play this on controller now. It's good fun for a while and handy for shooting the nimble Hunters, but you can get by.
It's worth mentioning there's a mod out there that turns this into a traditional 3rd person Resident Evil game.
And voice acting aside, the phonecalls calling you a murderer and the tearful phonecall from your* mum really let to an effective atmosphere. Vincent's got more depth than a lot of modern RE characters!
Great video! Although worth mentioning that this game is canon. The island in which it's set gets mentioned in the opening of RE Zero.
Also it has a report from Nicholai as a file, which confirms that bastard survived RE3
im gonna be tottally honest when i first played this game, back when was nothing but a silly little boy, i really liked even tho i was really scared to go further into the game, i remembering getting at max on the cinema part. Seeing this game nowdays i still kinda like it, the idea of a first person all 3D FPS on the original ps1 is really cool, and its one of the more cool fps on the ps1 in my opnion. I kinda didnt remember the voiceacting being this weird, but from my memory the atmosphere of thegame was creppy. Another thing i have to mention is how the game is divided in diferent paths you have to pick, i remeber talking to my friend in school at the time and he was telling about the weird monkey swat agents going crazy after you in the arcade. I think a big factor for liking this game at the time was that i never liked the tank controls and fixed camera, it was very hard for me as a kid to solve RE1 and RE2 puzzles while being scared. Im gonna try to play this one nowdays, sounds like a good little spooky game

The game is super quirky, but I had so much fun playing it as a kid. I love the different pathways you could take throughout the game. We need Ark Thompson as the main character of resident evil nine!
We need the OG ps1 resident evil games on the newer gen consoles, be great to relive what we did in the 90's

I...Actually like this game. I haven't played any of the RE's--I watched them instead--and this one was a neat story. I mean, I hate that Ark just walks through waves and waves of not just zombies, but even Tyrants (and I think this game actually is canon, but I'd have to find a source for that), but the amnesia bit was actually pretty cool and I felt the intended feelings seeing Ark consign himself to having been a murderer and making up for it and then later learning he wasn't the killer at all (even if the moment is corny as all get-out). I also love the Undertaker Unit Leader for having absolutely no frills and being so punch-clock villain; he didn't have time for any of Ark's crap or showing off, he was doing a job on a schedule and he's my favorite possible ending (I also like Vincent being dead from the beginning of the game rather than coming back later).
Im in the rare portion of people. I actually really liked this game back in the day.

I was at walmart with me ex when i found this gem. Since i was such a fan of 1 and 2, i had to get this one. My ex bought it for me and was so incredibly disappointed. What a horrendous game.
I got this game back in the day and didnt know it was designed to be used with a light gun since I had the NA version. I hated the controls and first person perspective so much I barely played it.
Kinda wish I gave it more of a chance
So.. how did it play with the gun? Were you on rails? If so, I think this is way better

You did this video and didn't even explain the plot. You didn't even explain who he really was or what he was doing on the island. You wrap this up faster than the game itself

Survivor is canon to the mainline series, as Sheena Island, the in game location, is mentioned in Resident Evil Zero’s intro.

I'm a massive re fan since I was a kid and my dad got me og re1 when it first came out for my birthday and I was hooked but anyway I've never been a fan of their light gun/rail shooters i enjoy the lore from those games but i just can't play them same with any game that type not just re. I just can't handle the rail shooter types i get bored super quick and they make me queezy
‘’You have to use your imagination’’. Graphics great or poor should invoke that. I’d even say graphics too good or clean are kinda dull and robs a game of any distinguishable identity.

I haven't seen your first video on RE1 but I've seen 2 and 3. Glad to know youre an RE fan as well. I'm always happy to find out my favorite youtubers are RE fans like myself haha
But even though I havnt finished this video yet, I'm always happy to see Survivor get some attention
Its NOT my favorite but I have to be honest...its the ONE game in the series that i have the most nostalgia and love for. Nearly every memory I have in childhood is either RE2....or... playing Survivor. And yea...new fans of today Probably play this and think...what is this garbage but AT THE TIME...seeing RE in first person was kinda crazy back in 2000. I already had a ton of action figures and game guides etc...but this was the FIRST RE game I ever bought brand new and plastic shrink wrapped. The other games were given to me from friends or were used. I bought this at Walmart and had never even heard it existed. My grandma bought it for me...I watched a friend play it first for a few minutes...he explained the controls...(he was really good at understanding controls at the time) and then I took it home...and it was the FIRST RE game I ever beat all the way through.....no game guide. Lol i was in like...6th grade?
But after beating this game..i finally sucked it up and beat the OGRE...RE2...RE3...CodeVeronica... REmake on gamecube and RE0 all over the span of like a few months.
But this was ALWAYS my go to game when I just wanted to hear some familiar RE sounds and noises and beat a game under an hour. It's highly replayable as well.
They may hate this game but it's one of the best memories I had...and I took it seriously as hell back in the day never ever knowing when I grew up...people were laughing and hating on it.
I still love it. Its charming as hell and nostalgic as shit.

Resident Evil 1 had cheesey, bad yet it's good voice acting. Survivor on the other hand it was just atrocious
