Came here from Dave Ramsey also. Hell no she doesn't HAVE TO give any of her half to family. Her grandma can put she can just go buy her house. Thanks to her they even won that much. I would give a little but not an obligation.

I love how youtube recommended this video immediately after watching the Dave Ramsey one. To the family of the young lady, it was her moment of luck, that's life, most of us don't get one at all. Be happy for her, there amount after taxes is no huge fortune, just a nice bump whose effects will fade over the next 10 years, and much faster if she starts donating portions of it.

I congratulated Taylor and her granny named Nellie for winning more than $1.6 million on from the wall. I was glad that Taylor destroyed the guaranteed contract of more than $135,000. More than $1.6 million were the highest amount of money that was won in the history of "The Wall".
Dave Ramsey sent me...They split the 1.6 million and will end up with around 450-475k a piece. Not too bad for a day’s pay.

The young gal called into Dave Ramsey and said her and the Grandma each got 800,000 and their tax advisor told them it would be about 475,000 after taxes. Still not a bad chunk of change even though the IRS is stealing a huge chunk.
