That is a beautiful beginning, nord always nails ambient piano. 6:42 is very kitaro
Great decision. Sounds very relaxing
Wow this is GREAT! Mahalo
If this is 88 keys then this is something my daughter would love. Proper semi weighted keys and real piano sounds. Even a fuss pot like her would have fun on this. Unlike me she is a real pianist. Me? I think this demo and synth is amazing
Totally agree, and built in sampler....
No its 61 keys but yes it's semi weighted
@@andregodfrey559 ""Semi-weighted" does not mean a hammer piano-like action. It is simply a slightly heavier organ/synth type action and not suited for piano playing.
A 73 key version is for also good.
sounds amazing but i'll probably never get the money for one, it's amazing seeing these demos !
It's really to for me but I appreciate it. Very mellow and 90s sounding.
Could be wrong though, would be nice too try it out.
yeah i cant even afford a M audio keystation 88 at the moment , let alone one of these . Nice demo though
I don’t think I’ve heard you verbally review this yet...I need to check your page. I guess you don’t really do verbal reviews but I’m curious about your opinion on this synth.
You had a Quantum,...how would you rate this against the Quantum? Wavetable/Samples/FM. I would think this has an advantage with regard to professionally prepared sample libraries. Also I feel like this is more immediate and allot closer to knob per function. Other Thoughts?
I never really connected with the Quantum. Just something about it that seemed off for ME. That said I would say their two different machines altogether. Each has it's good points all their own. I like the sound quality coming out of the wave 2 better. It has better stereo spread to my ears.
Just wondering....does this Nord have good sounding piano's, Ep's, Organs, or mellotron sounds on it?
There are good samples of those instruments in the Nord Sound library. Organs are way better on the Electro and Stage series.
The Nord Wave ? question : Is it just basically a wavetable Synth ....... with perhaps user patches ? ......... is that the story or is there more to it ? let me know if ye will ...........
I have an Electro 6 already and I defo like it, does it use those Piano, strings, Mellotron etc sample packs as well ?
The Nord Web site has some good info on it here: www.nordkeyboards.com/products/nord-wave-2/specifications
One for sale in waukeesha about 40mile from here for 775$ but that would cut into my 2600 money when behringers become available so now my great debate begins because ive liked this box also..
Have a good one&God bless...
775 for a Nord wave 2? Buy it and resell
PAD, Wave 2 or Jupiter x
Oh man i am loving both! Hard to pick ... But the wave 2 is wowing me big time!!!!
The wave:400 presets, the X 4000 presets.I choice the wave, you could make more your own soundset.
Ugh absolutely hate the keybed on this thing. Wish they went with synth action keys. It’s the only thing holding me back from getting it.
True, I have it and I love the sounds it produces, but I think they messed up with semi-weighted keys. I usually play it by midi using a Korg Kross or from my Moog Matriach, with any of those the Wave 2 shows a different character, way more dynamic.
I said this before, but I'll repeat myself. This sounds great. The FM and wavetable capabilities really add a lot. BUT, 48 voice polyphony, only 1 Gb of sample RAM and a 61-key synth action--all for $2,700 (street price) makes this a terrible value. In price, it's competing with full-blown workstations, but doesn't have nearly the same capabilities. If you like the sound, than it might still be worth the money to you (I didn't complain about the $5000 for my Waldorf Quantum). But Nord is continuing their tradition of minimal specs and high prices.
I think it looks great, but then as I kept looking I found the prophet X for a bit more, but has 200 gig of memory for samples and that did it for me.
Ib just don’t get Nord reluctance to providing a modicum off RAM. Manufacturing wise 32 gig would be free at this point, is it pure stubbornness? Is it that if they suddenly spring reasonably ram on the wave 2 the stage people would riot?
