this guy would come into the restaurant I used to work at in north county san diego. absolutely the nicest guy. I never worked up the courage to introduce myself, but really a good guy.
I have had the chance to hang with Drew after a couple different shows over the years, and he really truly is awesome. Extraordinarily talented to boot. Have you had the chance to listen to their newest record, "Where the Light Shines Through"? It's a change of pace for them and makes for a great listen. If you haven't, songs to check out on it are: "Float" (it's got an insane bass line), "Holy Water", "Where The Light Shines Through" (title track), and "Bull in a China Shop".
I've been a fan of Drew's since the 90's with his previous band. I was so fortunate to meet him when they came by our town. After their small, intimate concert, he came out to meet everyone and even signed my guitar. He was super chill and gave everyone time even though he was definitely jetlagged! 100% genuine.
I'm sure they were focused on the show for that night, they've been touring like crazy for the new record! Drew has such an awesome setup, wish I could afford it! lol
Seen him play so many times. He's always so concentrated on his tone and doesn't let any note go untouched. He works his hardest to give his heart through every chord and every strum. Humble humble man. Love you Drew.
This was one of the better rig rundowns for sure. It would be nice if the artist would actually play their guitar and show us what their tones actually sound like. (Like Myles Kennedy did in the Alter Bridge rundown.)
Josiah Bryan Some venues and even stage schedules don't allow that... This is at the Ryman in Nashville which is essentially a museum that does tours during the day, I'm sure they are pretty strict as to when bands can start really playing/sound checking as to not interrupt tours Plus they mentioned a couple times they were cutting it close to sound check, didn't have time to go through and play each pedal
"Some venues and even stage schedules don't allow that". What, like they are going to only let them play at the exact scheduled time when soundcheck starts? You could clearly hear Jon Foreman singing over the PA when they were talking about the amps. If he had played the guitar instead of describing the sound (when he played it) it probably would have been the same length, maybe shorter.
Why are all of the guitar pages gaining interest in Drew Shirley? And why the hell couldn't we see the rest of the bands stuff? Come on Premier Guitar, I've been waiting to see what Tim Foreman uses for a long time.
I always wondered what happened with Revival Amps! I was really excited for that project. It sucks that it never went anywhere. (Drew talks about it briefly at 19:21.)
This guy shouldn't be doing rig rundown interviews. Please hire me to do interviews. I'm a complete gear nerd and knowledgeable unlike John and can ask the relevant questions.
please do a rig rundown of Jon foreman

Their live show is pretty fantastic

Man, I love John Bohlinger, he seems so excited on every rig run down he does. Gotta love his genuine excitement, it really shows on camera.
Did you guys do TIm Foreman as well? He's probably one of the most underrated bass players, ever..
Sorry, Edison, the only band member that wanted to participate was the eager Drew Shirley.
:'((
Premier Guitar - that sucks to hear :( - I was hoping John Foreman would do a rundown.
I'm sure they were focused on the show for that night, they've been touring like crazy for the new record! Drew has such an awesome setup, wish I could afford it! lol
Nice
All of those guys are waaaaaayyyyyyy too much underrated as players and artists !
Could not agree more. But then again, they did win a Grammy for a reason.
I dont know. playing pentatonic solos with bendings is not so original
@@voicelikemanywaters1017 found the idiot guys!
@@voicelikemanywaters1017then why ain’t u doin it?
Words to live by by Drew at the end: be inspired, play well, have fun!
Switchfoot is great. Cool to see Drew featured on one of these episodes. Thanks for sharing.

Guitars aside, I'm incredibly impressed by Drew's retro 80's look...those cuffed jeans and sneakers speak volumes for squares everywhere....
What a cool guy Drew is. Nice rig btw.

Harry Palmer same! i wanted to see johns rig, his tone imho kills drews side by side
David Rivera I disagree with that personally. But I'm dying to see what the rest of the band plays as well!
Andrew Denning to each his own i guess
On this episode of Rig Rundown, John Bohlinger interviews himself
Took me the whole length of the video to understand :-D
You can see two types of guitarists here. The “gear”guy and the “all about the music” guy
dont grab the guitar without asking Drew...come on dawg
So stoked to see my friend Drew finally get a Rig Rundown video!
Rigrundown of Lincoln Brewster PLEASE
JAT Rock Martin while that would be cool, (he’s my favorite) it’d be a bit of a boring Rundown since he’s using his Sig Strat into a Kemper nowadays.
Drew is such an awsome guy I love him and his band switchfoot is amazing I absolutely love them!!!!!
I had such an awesome moment with him at the show on friday. Such a cool dude. My favorite band for sure
I'm sure you thought about it already, but you NEED to do Neil Young !

John shirt is the best
Good band
Anyone notice the interviewer
grabbed the tonemaster without asking Drew...and Drew got bothered at that.
What is the company that makes his cable? Also, the pedal board connectors, anybody?
Does anyone know what brand of guitar strap is on the black tele? I’ve been trying to find one forever and can’t figure out who makes them
