It's a true 7-seat family hauler box on wheels, which is pretty much dull by definition. 😊 These vehicles are built for luxury and comfort, not the track.
I feel like with the lidar bump in this and many Chinese domestic market cars we're currently in the level of integration we were in with front radar around ten years ago or so, when cars would just have black blocks in the grille or a flat 2d logo on a flat section of the grille as a sensor (some manufacturers still haven't moved on from that). I'm sure it'll get better, but currently it looks goofy.
Premium Volvos, for a long time, have been for smart people with money, rather than the evoque/X5/ Glc/Q5 etc owners that want to look like they’ve got money
That’s ridiculous. As a current S90 owner (which I love), this is terrible return for value and a lot less car than a Range Rover or so many others. Even the Kia EV9 puts this to shame.
The passing comparison to Range Rover Nicola made possibly puts the £100k price into some sort of context, especially if it can also do serious towing and off road. Clearly real thought has gone into the design. My problem is while the Google brain is a good idea, the iPad on the dashboard is just terrible and I would never buy it, just as I would never buy a Tesla.
Polestar sibling is around £25k+ less, whichever variant you get. The LIDAR does nothing on this othering, other than gathering data and sending it off to Volvo-Geely. And apparently, if you leave the car parked doing nothing, the car will lose 3% SoC every day, so don’t leave it, while you go for a 34 day holiday. And the price - now I know pricing small items, it’s both easier and sells better, if the end digit is 5 rather than 9. But the Performance’s price tag, has got to be a marketing giggle. JLR’s only EV offering, is still plagued by its non-EV but JLR heritage. The I-Pace promised so much and just delivered a JLR. I can’t see them doing much better in coming years. For too long they survived on name but people with enough money to buy an EV, want more than a badge & an empty bank account. Nice review by the way.
FAKE NEWS. You must be from USA.... Yes. It will lose 3% SoC every day to keep the computer on but if you do not charge your car it will shut down the computer after a few days and not drain the battery completly. This bug will also be solved with a software update i first half of 2025.
It’s a nice car and an interesting video. But it’s irrelevant for most people. It’s in the “if you have to ask the price then you can’t afford it” bracket.
TRUE, very true. My guess is the features will trickle down a bit to the general public. Long, long time from now of course. I can see that sensor being on other, cheaper vehicles as it seems the industry is going the direction of self driving cars. I think they'll find a way to make these things affordable for a larger consumer base. Not just this company, but others as well
Can’t help but think they could’ve done a better job at integrating the LiDAR sensors to look more streamlined. The black cab style hump at the top looks a bit tacked on and awkward. Otherwise a smart looking car, though I prefer the squatter, sleeker design of the Polestar 3.
if most families have two cars - surely quite a bit cheaper to just drive in convoy for those long trips where you need to ferry a bunch of people around? How often does one person need to shift 6 passengers where one of the others can’t drive, to justify that price gap??

For too long they survived on name but people with enough money to buy an EV, want more than a badge & an empty bank account.
Nice review by the way.
FAKE NEWS. You must be from USA.... Yes. It will lose 3% SoC every day to keep the computer on but if you do not charge your car it will shut down the computer after a few days and not drain the battery completly. This bug will also be solved with a software update i first half of 2025.
Hi can I ask how tall is Nicola, as a gauge of the head room & leg room for the third row. Many thanks.
Too expensive, sorry. Plus it's HUGE !!!!!
And it's too big!
Don’t be sorry. It’s expensive period.
Well only the top of the range ‘Ultra’ model is out at the moment. I’m sure with time the lower specs will be released
Agree..not even all automatic chairs for the price..I will buy it just for you😂
The xc90 has always been an expensive car shamefully
Definitely skimmed over the lack of headroom for tall children/adults in the 3rd row!
How does it feel against a Bentayga?
It’s a nice car and an interesting video. But it’s irrelevant for most people. It’s in the “if you have to ask the price then you can’t afford it” bracket.
TRUE, very true. My guess is the features will trickle down a bit to the general public. Long, long time from now of course. I can see that sensor being on other, cheaper vehicles as it seems the industry is going the direction of self driving cars. I think they'll find a way to make these things affordable for a larger consumer base. Not just this company, but others as well
Are we going to get Phone as a Key in UK. I have a Mustang Mach E and the UK is the ONLY place where PAAK isn't available
They need to get the cheaper version out fast! This version was revealed about 2 years ago!
The tiny screen that should have featured on the EX30...
140 miles at 54% (see 19min40sec) is hugely concerning. So 100% would be just 259 miles. That's just 2.4 miles/kW. There's no doubting, its a heffa.
Nicolas CA accent is really doing it for me. lmao
As you lower the rear, the tailgate smacks you in the head 😂
Can’t help but think they could’ve done a better job at integrating the LiDAR sensors to look more streamlined. The black cab style hump at the top looks a bit tacked on and awkward. Otherwise a smart looking car, though I prefer the squatter, sleeker design of the Polestar 3.
Ev9 or Ex90?😊
if most families have two cars - surely quite a bit cheaper to just drive in convoy for those long trips where you need to ferry a bunch of people around? How often does one person need to shift 6 passengers where one of the others can’t drive, to justify that price gap??
We need a short of Nicola saying Mjölnir (Thor's hammer) headlights in a Californian accent
