Fishermen are too afraid of losing baits or hanging up on structure. It's big reason for not catching fish.
Truth!
Good advice. I sometimes don't know what profile to use in a given situation, deizel minnow, scented paddlerz, mulletron, trout trick, etc. Can you make a video that explains your thought process around profiles? Thanks
Im a CERTIFIED spray and prayer
You are making me 😊
Great tip, CA. I’ve always said when freshwater that if you never get hung up your not where the fish are.
Truer words have never been spoken my friend
And that's why the squarebill crank bait is so effective. It can bump the bottom without hanging up.
Man!! I need that shirt!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Second the motion! That's a winner! "Flats Class" should cut a deal with the shirt guy. I'll take a dozen. Ten for family members, and two for those other guys. EDIT: Spoke too soon. Google and Amazon are full of similar shirts ... But, they are all "overproduced" ... graphics & colors galore. The simplicity of the T-shirt shown above is nowhere to be found.
basically, fish it like a deep diving crankbait
Yes sir
Awesome tip C.A. !!! , Do you still live in the St.Pete area still ?
Not anymore… Citrus County is home now.
That's a significant nugget ... an alternative, and universal perspective, staring us right in the face. *"The bottom as an edge"* . Thank you.
I know a lot of people like using 1/16 and 1/8 oz jigs but I like to use 1/4 and 3/8 so I can keep it closer to the bottom even if I’m just swimming it
I use 3/8th in 2ft. Of water 😂got a thing with ticking the bottom..my target is flounder also.god bless 🙏
What length shaft do you have on your PowerPole Move?
I have currently a 45” but thinking I might upgrade to 52” now
aside from hunting fish. if you're not getting your lure or fly "hung up" you are not in the most productive area of the water column. great video.
Appreciate ya Jake
Watched a salt strong video where Pat stuck a piece of 40# leader close to the jighead and over the hook to make the bait sort of weedless.
This helps give me new ideas and to better understand a similar technique I “discovered”. I’m fishing the murky waters of coastal Georgia 🤙
I know Blondie is one of the two people you like so I'm holding out hope I might be the other. 😁
👊🏼
I’ve been doing a lot of the bottom contact unintentionally just because I’m fishing shallow oyster beds and I’ll get snagged every 5 seconds then have about 5 seconds of static swim but I’ve been killing it with the snook lately so now I’ll do it intentionally 😂
Incidental learning is often the best way to
As a fellow "old bass guy," I appreciate that you use the terms cover and structure correctly. Most salt folks don't understand the difference. You're gonna start a trend!
Appreciate that you noticed… inshore fishing is bass fishing with tides
@@flatsclasscharters it's the little things that earn street cred.
I agree. Hear it all the time. Another thing I hear is UA-camrs identifying a standard Dropper Loop Rig as a Drop Shot Rig.
Just heard another UA-camr call The Fish Finder rig a Carolina Rig. There is a difference folks.
Hey cap I need a password for the tournament. I messaged ya a few times. Wanna get in before it's too late. Made my purchase but got no code to enter the online tournament. Thanks buddy. It's Brian Zantop btw lol
Had the same issue last year. Best is to go to his website and use the contact us thing. They emailed pretty quickly
Awesome thank you brother. 1 day left to get er done 😬😬@@jeffspencer4317
Thanks C. a. for these new tips.
Thanks for the info. This is why I like to use a ned rig, guaranteed to bounce the bottom.
Good methodology
Depends on where you are. Here in Florida a lot of spot have to much vegetation or mud for a ned.
Ahh yea the salty Ned! My favorite !
I like to hear your voice, reminds my old neighbor
When your swim bait/ shad style body is rigged on most jigheads, stopping your retrieve will turn the hook point down, giving it a greater opportunity to snag the bottom. Slowing your retrieve will continue allowing the hook point to ride up but allow the lure to slowly descend closer to the bottom and not hang up. You can still bump the bottom but when you do slow the retrieve, but you won't snag it.
Until I realized that if I wasn’t hitting bottom, I wasn’t in the productive zone, my fishing was lackluster. Yes, losing lures is a part of it. But burning a bait in the top few inches of water usually isn’t the deal. Sometimes it is for bass with a spinner bait, esp on a windy day if the bass are on shad school, but inshore, bottom-bouncing is always more productive for me.
I like your T shirt,
always learn a lot from your videos. love that shirt, where did you get it? I am going to be going to Bradenton in early October to see family. I am going to bring my kayak do you have any pointers or any places I should check out. I fish here in southeastern NC and no nothing about fishing on the west coast of Fl
If the wind's blowing fish Miguel Bay, if not, fish Emerson Point and Terra Ceia Bay.
Good stuff
This is the way.
Thanks C.A for new ideas ✌️❤️😃
As always, awesome information. That works in freshwater too. A baitcaster really does work best.
Amen to that sentiment
Good stuff Capt
Every thing here is great and informative, the only downside is your Sodium website
