IMO the best choice is to go 2 golems, 2 wraights, 2 ghouls, 1 werewolf, 4 zombies, 2 RR (995k).
You get 7 out of the 8 positionals you want and you get all things that can save you turnovers: ST4 for 2D blocks, 2 block skill, 2 dodge skill. You don't get a WW which is a huge RR eater.
You probably will have a lot less TOs then most of the 3 RR builds. And you are just 260k from your optimal team.

This was what I coined when saw the spoilers first. It also allows swapping second ghoul for an extra zombie, but going down to 2 possible ball handler is a bit too risky approach for me :)

Ooh that’s a beauty! 2RR is manageable definitely, and you’re right - best way to maximise the SPP Grind is to have the players as early as possible!

This is what I was thinking of too.
I want both Fleshies and Block pieces on the team, since Wraiths don't do ball handling you need both Ghouls.
Werewolf feels like a luxury player because it mainly eats TRR as long as it does not have block.
So I really consider dropping the wolf and switching it for the third TRR because the lack of Sure Hands and enough blocking skills or Strength on the team.
Or the extra zombie to be able to foul, is also a viable route to ensure removal without access to MB in player skills early.

Finally! :D this will be my team so I hope to learn as much as possible and I’ve found this out so far, so I’ve smashed out 12 games so far starting with the no golems build and buying them later and they are so needed I’d go for one wolf, 2 golems, 2 wraiths, 2 ghouls, 4 zombies and 2 rerolls it’s everything you need and you need to earn the least amount of cash to finish your list, great vid as always!

There is never a reason to not get both Wraiths, as each Block is so many block attempts you don't need to reroll, you cannot justify getting a reroll over them. Then, you lose too much control/development if you don't get both Golems early, and a Werewolf is a must or why are you even playing this team...
So the only real choice is whether you want to start with 3 rerolls. That requires you to manage the first few games with just the Wolf as the ball-carrier until you can afford a Ghoul to keep him company. Or whether you want to start with both Ghouls but take even longer to get the gold for the 3rd reroll.
Personally, because Ghouls are disposable goods, I'd rather have the rerolls that help the team forever. Getting a Necro team to full strength definitely takes a while, and then it's time for league season redraft... which must be why GW marked them as a tier 2 team now.

    • @JorisVDC
      @JorisVDC 4 роки тому

They were Tier 1,5 at tournaments at best. They are a Hybrid team, so they need a good coach to make the most of their potential.
Today they have less ball handling and almost no stretch play possibilities.
So in my book this is a tier 2 team at best, they just lost a lot of flexibility in BB 2020

  • @supermercado6848

Ghouls are easily the optional positional for necro. You want the golems for their S4. You need the wraiths for block. And why take Necro if you aren't taking wolves? The ghouls can be picked up later

How will people skill up a Wraith? The obvious choice would be tackle and use them as a safety, but I am interested in taking grab, using them along the sideline with a WW and surfing things from 3 spaces out! You will own the sidelines for running lanes.

    • @BoneheadPodcast
      @BoneheadPodcast  4 роки тому

Hey Dgrimsley! I like Guard on these guys - they're pretty mobile, and combined with SS they can keep themselves right where you need them - and support either the Golems on the line, or Frenzy blitzes with the Wolves!

    I love my Necros!!!! Woohoo!!!
Here's my plan for 1000TV League:
    2 Golems = 230k
    2 Wraiths for Block/SS = 190k
1 Puppy with aim to score 2TDs first game = 125k
    0 Ghouls
    6 Zombie Squad! = 240k
    3 RR
    Total 995k
Thinking: AV8+ Ghouls die too fast to aid team development. 3RR for the Puppy ball skills and dodging
4 sideline pieces will dictate drives at 1000TV with few worries and all have that Guard access. The sooner you have all 4 the sooner they level as they will be a pain to level up.
Disadvantage: You are relying on 1 player to carry the team to victory in the early games. Once the wolf is off the field, it's virtually game over.

I think you're definitely going to want wraiths in your starting lineup. Foul appearance might be a poor man's dodge, but starting with Block, FA, and side step will make for a very durable blitzer piece. You'll notice the value of Foul appearance on a STR 3 piece far more than you ever did on a STR 4 piece. For skills, I'd prolly go MB, break tackle, and tackle as my core wraith set up. Dodge if you can afford the XP.
You can't combine claws and MB anymore, so I'd recommend using your werewolves as ball carriers or ball hawks. The wraith is going to be your main killer unit.
People are going to HATE wraiths.

I'm new to the game. Is there any reason you can't take all 8 special positions and 2 rerolls and buy 0 zombies? You just take them on as journeymen anyway, right? Or do you have to have 11 players to start...?

    • @BoneheadPodcast

One strategy I'm hearing is to give Frenzy to Wraiths. One skill-up and then suddenly they're on par with the Wolves. They might not have Claw, but they can haunt the sidelines with little fear of being shoved off field.

Exactly, I don't get it why they needed to increase the cost of the 3 of the positionals while they loose a ball handler.
I don't see why Lizardmen need 3+ PA and Necromantic doesn't. Lizardmen have far more potential and faster receivers, while Necromantic are bleeding cash to find any.

I think the no Golem build is the best starting point. Depending upon your playstyle, golems are the least useful positional of the bunch. 3 rerolls is a must (for me). The money flows in this edition so you can always pick up the golems later.

I am shocked you would consider a No Wolves roster but not a No Ghouls roster. I realize it sounds a bit mad when your ball handling comes at a premium already. But anyone who's had a proper go with Khemri knows AGI 2 isn't as bad as it first appears.
0 Ghouls means your team is all AV 9+ with regen. Tough to remove from the pitch. Unless Nuffle is laughing you will have a numbers advantage.

Developing the Necros are gonna be interesting in long leagues!
WW: Block, then save a double for MB or BT, then Dodge, SS, tackle and DT. It's a shame that claw is now a moot skill
Wraiths: Guard, then MB then BT then save a double for dodge or Diving Tackle
Golems (less worried about claw now meh): Block, Guard, MB
Ghouls: block, sure hands/wrestle tackle strip and save a double for BT.
Zombies: Save for Guard for first couple of zombies. Then block.
Fodder zombies: roll random and keep any that get kick/blk/wrestle/DP and sack the rest if they roll trash.
Damage output is DOWN as the wolves aren't the heavy blitzers they once were. So mobility will be key for pitch control. Break Tackle is gonna be huge for Ag3 GS players.

It's been a while since this video, so I'm not sure this comment will gain much traction. Still.
What do you guys think of this?
    2 Werewolves
    1 Flesh Golem
    2 Wraiths
    1 Ghoul
    5 Zombies
    2 Re-Rolls
    3 Dedicated fans.
Basically one less Brawler, but three total ball carriers, both WWs from the start, and dedicated fans to try and get money together quicker? The fans should net me 15k extra per match and will also give me some petty cash for inducements against some teams.
League has Wood Elves, Skaven, Black Orcs, Dwarfs and Imperial Nobility. :)

Your advice for the starting roster makes me think you do not have much experience in playing a necro team. You don't need the ghouls and do not want them in the beginning. Ghouls divert your ssp from important players. You want to level up your werewolves as fast as possible for them to get block. 2RR, 2xGolems, 2x werewolves, 2x wraiths, 5x Zombies. Was the best starting roster and the only one I have seen players take in the last few years. With 5+ k on Golems and werewolves it should be 1000k instead of 980k. Not even including this Starting Roster is more than strange.
The switch from wights to wraiths(with sidestep and foul appearance) makes for an even better side cage with 1 golem and 1 wraith, so that scoring with your werewolves is very easy against most teams. Disclaimer: Don't do a sidecage against teams with stunty players especially against Skinks a side cage is a bad idea!!! But against saurus the best tactic is to play it slow and to keep the saurus and Kroxigors busy with your zombies and golems and trying to injure the skinks with the wraiths or wirth a werewolves if they have block. The saurus are going to use up their rerolls because they probably do not have block yet.
