I'm 49. About 10 years ago, a silver/white streak started coming in right at the front right side of my hairline. I love it! The past few years I've had "wisdom sprinkles" coming through. I cannot wait until it's my entire hair color!! My grandmother had this same white/silver color and her hair was just gorgeous!! I imagine yours is the same, beautiful look! I love that you wear makeup in your 80s! I never plan to stop wearing it either. I don't wear makeup for others, I wear it for me because it makes me feel good. 💕

Not sure if you read this, but you stand out so much on youtube for your inner and outer beauty. You have the best teaching style AND you're honest compared to all the other phonies on youtube. Your personality and your outside are beautiful, and you never seem to make me feel uglier after watching this. So many makeup and beauty people on youtube tend to make me feel hopeless or worse, whether because of the ridiculous filters they use, or their not representing the audience, or simply sounding as if they would rather hear their own voice and make money than to help the viewers. Whatever you are doing...keep doing it.

Love how you urge us all to just be ourselves. I wanted to share that I use a gel cream foundation by Bare Minerals that I swear by. Never settles into wrinkles and is SO hydrating. Light, airy, no makeup feel. Tons of shades. I mention it only because it has a lower price point for women who need that, like on fixed incomes.

@@lisaahmari7199 Absolutely and thank you for asking! It is bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. It has broad spectrum SPF of 30. I am fair complected and use Opal 01. I use a brush to apply (I purchased that from bareMinerals as well, I think). I do NOT like to even feel makeup on my skin, and this is marvelous. You can apply more for more coverage, but I just apply enough to smooth out my complexion. I have used it for more than 10 years and it doesn't break out my skin, and is exceptionally hydrating. I used to work at a chemical plant, and the ladies there raved about how dewy my skin looked. I apply it over my moisturized face and it is NEVER oily. I just love it. Nikol has mentioned Shisheido products and I use them for my skin care (face wash, face serums and creams), but while I have tried their foundations they are all too heavy for me. I would rather spend the money for the skin care I need than for foundations, which is another reason I have never stopped using bareMinerals. Nope, I don't work for them and never have...just really love their product.
I just love Nikol's videos. She is so open and caring and sharing with all of her viewers! Her real-life examples are so much more useful for us "mature" women than the latest TikTok or Instagram (or even UA-cam) fad. I hope you have a marvelous day today!

      Me , too.
I try to explain investment vs cheap purchase, as well to friends.
There are many other things to be skimpy on, and understanding per use cost for an item that will last because it is a better product, is a great way to know whether the purchase is justifiable.
Also, per month or per year cost.
If I buy a pair of boots for $150.00 and they hold up for 3 years, then I spent $50 per year for the nice leather boots, as opposed to buying $35 synthetic material boots that don't hold up for one season.
      But, I do go on...lol.
I love this kind way of deciding whether my purchase is an investment or waste of money.

Thank you for your message of basically "you do you and make no excuses for it." I'm 55 and I've worn makeup since I was 15. I put it on even when I'm at home and my friends ask me ," Why?" Because it makes me feel good. It's just part of my daily routine. I have researched what works best for my skin and hydrate morning and night . So my reply is now, " Why not?" :)

I haven't wore makeup for a very long time, but watching you do a tutorial on face makeup & going into almost every detailed to explain the why's is so refreshing! To many people want everything quick & fast, that is not the way to learn & our social skills are suffering from it, # 1 Patients:) #2 manners # 3 respect-- some people are lacking all 3:) So thank you for explaining everything properly, & making it fun at the same time.

I’ve been using the Chanel Water-Fresh foundation since last January and it only takes 4 drops to cover my face. I don’t have dark spots but do have spider veins around my nose since having babies that correctors don’t fully cover. Pretty good coverage! No issues with my older, oily skin. I save it for going out days and I’m still on my first bottle.
But … I did just find another foundation I’m really enjoying from Danessa Myricks called Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder. It’s a cream to powder foundation that takes so little, it’s crazy! Great for oily skin. I went a little darker (#4) for my medium-light (not light-medium) skin as suggested. If you’re older but still have oily skin that has break through shine by mid-afternoon, this works to keep it at bay without looking powdery or thick. And, you can still use a cream blush.

I’ve been wearing the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation since I was 40 (12 years) and it’s the best foundation I’ve ever had. It’s worth every penny at about $65 today, and the last drop you get out of the bottle feels as great as the first. Thanks for another awesome video ❤

I hate short makeup tutorials because I have to keep rewinding it over and over if I want to try the technique. I just found your channel and I love EXACTLY what you are doing. That doesn’t mean I will freak out if you change anything either lol I promise! Stay strong girl! I am new and there has to be more like me and we mean you no harm. I am very happy to patiently watch you because I feel like I can actually do what you are teaching. It’s not unrealistic and it encourages me to try more bold lips 👄 ❤ Thank you for taking your time and giving great content. I said it already and I will say it again. I cannot stand short format, so, I am extremely grateful that you do long format videos. I understand short format but it is just too much and it takes away from really learning about a product, technique, the correct hack or way to do things, and actually it’s not as good. Of course… This is in my own opinion.

Nikol, your videos are amazing! On my fixed income I can’t afford all the absolutely fabulous products you use, but you often provide cheaper alternatives and that is very helpful. (But of course, I actually want the higher end ones! 😅). I simply love the Chanel foundation - so creamy and smooth! It looks beautiful. I want to look that way! I’m almost 74 and I believe I can look terrific. I’m probably going to have to get your brush set - I hope they come with a description for each one! 😅 Your use of them is absolutely gorgeous and I think they make a big difference. I truly love to watch your videos whether I can implement them or not - they are so enjoyable! Thank you so much for sharing your beauty secrets with us older ladies, Nikol! ❤️

I think about cost per wear for EVERYTHING these days from clothes to make up to hair products. We throw money out the window on single use things all the time like coffee, soda, plastic water bottles, ahem... It's really amazing how looking at things on a per use can help you decide the worth of things. With makeup I think we tend to get the wrong color so often or not like the formula, so we don't want to take the chance on something that is so expensive. We need to be more brave about taking these products back if they don't work for us.

I'm 60+, always mistaken for being in my 40s, Big secret, SKIN CARE! I switch between Lumene & Eucerin - when I finish the pots of one, I then switch to the other. For long lasting non-chalky foundation I use Rimmel/Coty products, mix a bit of the Rimmel matte foundation w/daycream work into your face & NECKLINE, finish with the fine milled translucent pressed powder, A little bit of powder goes a VERY long way. Use BROWN Mascara as a base, then after the 'eyes' are complete apply a coat of BLACK Mascara to the TOP lashes only. Avoid super dark eye products, like deep browns, purples, grey & black. Remember LESS make-up goes really far and makes you look Younger . . .

Hello Miss Nikol!🌹 this was a fun and informative! I remember being out of high school and working for the Dior counter at Nordstrom's in 1989-1990 and they had a cream foundation by the name of 'Teint Actuel line softening Makeup'(unfortunately discontinued) and was one of the best cream foundations I remember using on clients at the time and Chanel during this time had a cream foundation as well but I remember it not being impressive I am eager to try this one on my clients (my older sisters and Mom too) and see how this performs as I prefer cream foundations more when doing a clients make up, look forward to more of your amazing videos!

Since I found you I’ve upgraded my look. . Gone gray/white with silver 🤩But I never knew how to use the eye shadows and blending. I now have FUN playing with eye candy and trying different skin care products as well.
As for this cream foundation…. It IS expensive! Years ago I wore a cream foundation and loved it. Have looked for a cream foundation from time to time.
Soooo…. I’ll go to the dept store and get a tester. If I like it…. And probably will…. I’ll buy it…. BUT use it ONLY for special occasions. )A trek to the mailbox is not Soevisl😅😅) Like so many , I’m on SS and with rising costs it’s getting harder to afford any luxury items. Soooo… THANK YOU for featuring the drug store cosmetics as well.
Many Blessing to you! I feel like we are Friends although we’ve never met.

The Chanel foundation looks exquisite. Love the finish and that it is hydrating and you use so little. Thank u for standing up about long form content!! I abhore Tiktok, u can't get any information or any kind of relevant info about a product when it is short form. I feel Tiktok is for people, especially young people, who don't seem to care what they r buying. There is too much sponsored content on Tiktok so I don't feel I can trust the person's opinion because they agreed to a sponsorship! I love to watch someone applying makeup, talking about the makeup, wearing the makeup, u know, a true wear test or better yet, an unsponsored review of a product! Keep doing what u r doing, long form is truly the best in my opinion!!
