That's basically how long Ghost Mode lasted content-wise in H2. After late-2019, IO just sort of gave up on it. I like what they were trying with Ghost Mode, but I knew from conception it was not what people wanted, and I get the sense they abandoned it to refocus their energy on other things.
I feel like the only reason we didn't get this is because they'd have to overhaul 47 so he can react to stuff like poison other than just "take damage" and "dies" The concept is sound enough (two players go after the same target) but having proper interactions along with more players would've made it a lot better. It's somewhat similar to that game _Deathloop_ where the online multiplayer mode is people infiltrating each other's playthroughs. Since everyone is after the same target, they could've added a proper co-op mode where both/all players work together to eliminate everyone quickly. Sure it'd be hard on some levels since everything is on a schedule but there are plenty of times where you need to get to the other side of the map quickly for a setup, an extra player would've made that easier. lol
Watch Dogs actually had a mode like this. Assassins Creed also did an outstanding job on this type of playstyle, but also allowed hiding among civilians as a lookalike.

I would love a coop, imagine you and a friend splitting up one taking out de Santis, the other taking out Caruso then they meet up in the lab get in a gunfight and have to improvise.
My dumb idea for a Hitman multiplayer: One random player with a random skin would be the target who would need to do tasks for a certain time before being able to win by escaping the level. He would get a tiny headstart before his enemy players would spawn. He woulnt have any weapons but would be able to access any door, summon npc's as bodyguards/decoys and would regen health and run much faster. Another player would be the hitman having to find out what the target looks like and where he is likely to be. Unlike the normal game the hitman would not be able to disguise meaning the target could be perfectly aware of who he should stay away from. The hitman would also not regen health and would only see targets marked by the handler in instinct. His only weapons would be a Sniper, Krugermeier pistol and Fiber wire. He would initially spawn in a designated sniper nest but could unlock more freedom of movement from as time decreases/as his handler unlocks shortcuts for him. Third player could be the handler, a support class for the hitman. He would look like a normal npc and be able to disguise and fast travel between insertion/exit points after cooldowns. He could give information to the hitman by marking targets while maybe being able to disrupt the target (by poisoning his npc guards with emetic poison or by locking doors for a certain time or resetting things the target had to activate to buy time for his partner) The target wins if he survives long enough to escape. (Maybe 8 minutes) The hitman and handler wins if they kill the target before the time runs out. For every time the hitman kills a non target and the handler is spotted doing something illegal, 3 and 2 minutes are subtracted respectively. Once they are out of time the target unlocks exits and the entire map gets alerted to the handler and hitman. They may still have a final chance at killing the target before he exit, but it will be much harder with the entire map distracting them. So...basically Counter Strike's VIP Escape mode mixed with Guess Who, Hitman's Sniper Assassin and amogus.
@@volvomodus Could work only issue's are if a majority of the map is inside of buildings or underground like the Hong Kong map (I don't remember the name of the map) or the Japan map but other than that sounds like it could be fun
I think the main issue with coop-/actual MP-mode is how the NPCs are programmed, and probably some performance issues that comes with rendering NPCs that are in the vicinity of all the players around the map. All the NPCs are programmed like there was only one 47, this is why I think the current Ghost mode is made so both players have their own separate instance of the map; The only thing you receive from the other player is the other player's location and such.
Imagine if you could get a breaching charge and a pistol or some kind. Find the briefcase on the map, find that bust/muffin etc and boom muffin boost yo the highest point on the map and pick people off time!!!! 😅
This would have been amazing, that and a 2 player coop would have made this one of the best games of the last 15 years. I can't think of many games that wouldn't be waaay better with 2-4 player coop
The video idea looks really fun but maybe instead of being 47 people start with a random civilian model or just a random model in general, Also would be fun if you could like enable Invasion mode like Sniper Elite had where you spawn in as a high level security guard and need to defend the target in some way (Don't know how balancing would work) But would be sick.
Wait, I recognize that black reskin of the Wrath suit. It's from the Prohibition Pack mod. Did the creator make it work with Simple Mod Framework yet? I wanted get that mod for a long time, but it wasn't compatible.
It would be nice if they added something like this, in my opinion multiplayer is missing, it's stupid that this game is based only on online contracts. They could also create a mode in which, for example, one person is Agent 47 and the other people are a random NPC, a guard who would be configured in such a way that he could blend in with the surroundings and pretend to be an NPC, like in Deceive Inc. There is also no cool co-op for missions or campaigns, it would be a great departure. It's a pity that there is no multiplayer, although I hope that maybe one day there will be something
if you never played ghost mode during hitman 2's prime, you missed out. they removed it entirely. your best bet is to own hitman 3 on steam, and download a mod that brings ghost mode back (invite only, no matchmaking)
i was so pissed at IO for cutting this game mode from hitman 3. i played this all the time in hitman 2. they axed ghost mode because nobody played it. but nobody played it because they never updated it. they can't expect people to keep playing miami and santa fortuna over and over again.
I will say, as cool as this would be, there will be griefers and shit that would only play it to ruin the joy for the other players. But if they do add this into the game, I would be interested in how ioi would tackle it.
One thing I really wished for was a coop mode. A cooperative game like you could with sniper challenges, but this time in free roam. It would have taken some scripting around because enemies would now have to focus on two seperate targets, but a bit of afford really could have been useful. Just imagine the possibilities. To walk around as a killer couple or killer duo in Miami and to take down two guards at an entrance… damn man. So much potential.
If they added ghostmode back with all maps and some long taking challanges, we would have content for about a year or 7 months.

I think the main issue with coop-/actual MP-mode is how the NPCs are programmed, and probably some performance issues that comes with rendering NPCs that are in the vicinity of all the players around the map.
All the NPCs are programmed like there was only one 47, this is why I think the current Ghost mode is made so both players have their own separate instance of the map; The only thing you receive from the other player is the other player's location and such.
it would certainly be a huge technical challenge, but i think it would be worth the effort. could be so much fun
