I'll tell you what the most harrowing meta thing about this game is..
It taps into our gamer apathy.
How many times have you thought "Fucking hell just hurry up and die already!" To something in a video game?
Meanwhile Trials has a fair amount of things that take a bit of time to do, and it's frustrating sometimes, like the electric chair. I remember thinking while watching this "Christ, how long does it take for this chair to charge up? Just fry him already!"
Only to realize that in the universe of Outlast, that's Exactly how Murkoff wants our reagent to think.
