loved this as a kid at the american adventure in the uk, went on it a good 5 times in a row, i remember being gutted when they changed it to a mine cart motion ride 😂
Me and my brother were obsessed with Aliens and we adored the ride! Loved how they remodelled the Native American faces on the front entrance to colonial marines - especially the one with the face hugger on it. Good memories.
I recently was looking for Stuart Gordon I wanted to contact him sadly I found out he passed away in 2000. Excitingly enough he was the director on this motion ride that I was lucky enough to be able to work with him on also including Faisal Karim who did the original models for aliens amongst other things. It was sometime in the 90s right down the street from where I live in North Hollywood. It was such a fun experience and we also did go to Pier 39 I believe and we road it. We were laughing our asses off because we knew every little part of the ride especially the models and the puppeteering we worked at. Outstanding...
I remember when i ride this way back as a kid with my sisters. The queen scene gave me a nightmare that night, so i ask my sisters about the Alien. Instead of explaining what it was all about, they just show me the Aliens movie and i had nightmare for weeks. Slept with my parents for like a month before i could sleep by myself again.
@@timberwolf27 i like how when jeffrey combs shows up in stuff he is never know as oh it's that guy i know him from such and such movie or show it's always cool its jeff

My dad was the mechanic on the rides in Granada studios, in the school holidays I would have the whole ride to myself. Never forget it and so glad it’s on UA-cam
American adventure theme park in the uk had this.i fucking loved it as a kid. My mum showed me alien because i kept talking about it. I moaned that it was boring because the 1st one is a slowburn. But saw enough to fucking terrify me and give me nightmares and wake her up every night for months.
Thank you for this! Life long Alien fan since 1979 and I never knew this existed. It was better and more canon than the last five movies combined. Added bonus - Jeffrey Combs!!!
I was in 1997 on Pier 39 in San Francisco and got to see this. And I didn't care how much it cost because I'm from germany and didn't know if I would ever be there again. Til now I haven't ...
@@fulcrumusprime5782 I think it didn't last long as far as I remember. In England there was another one called ALIENS WAR, sort of an interactive haunted house type, with Colonial Marines leading you out through a maze away from pursuing Aliens, so it's possible that this one was short lived.
Jeffrey Combs is awesome! I think he may have performed a role in every major sci-fi franchise of the past 40 years that wasn't based on cyborgs, or robots.
I remember trying this out when i was a kid with my family. My younger brother had to be removed because the violent jerking from side to side made him cry 😂 For me, it was a dream come true 😊
I never understood why if they’re so thorough with checking survivors for implantation, seeing it as high risk. But then they think it’s a good idea to try and rescue soldiers stuck in the nest lmao
This is so,so bad. I love that the countdown is at 2 minutes and they manage to run in and run back out with the marines in 30 seconds. To make matters worse, I pitched this exact idea for a job interview as a theme park ride creator in like 2018, not knowing it had already been done. My version started with the drop ship scene. How humiliating.
Q: "I've got a basket of aluminum cans to recycle, what type of Aliens movie ride video can I have produced for about $7.35?" A: "Do you mind if we recycle a bunch of film footage...and use people with no acting training?"
This obviously had permission of 20th Century Fox, but they couldn't afford the real _Bishop's Countdown_ music? It was used in countless movie trailers all thru the 90s! Acting is pretty terrible..
Some of it looks like a Sega CD fmv game.
100% accurate 😂
I didn't know Jeffrey Combs was a part of this. Nice to see him as the survivor.
He looks like Bruce Campbell in this, lol. Why does this sound more like Starship Troopers than Aliens?
saame XD I didnt recognize him at first until i pictured him with blue skin and antennae saying 'I hate being in debt'

Finding this footage of the ride was amazing, loved seeing Jeffrey Combs in this, and finding out it was made by Stuart Gordon is just amazing
I saw this at Pier 39 in SF, so it was definitely there
Amazing job

The excitement and adventure of the second Alien movie needs to be replicated just like this - this is awesome!!!!
It's so weird they never thought to make another movie with Colonial Marines, they'd be perfect for an Alien Vs Predator movie.
Play Aliens: Dark Descent
The esconde one is perfect! Come on!
Come on! The second one is perfect!
I remember going on this when I went to The American Adventure Theme Park (UK) as a child.
That's how I experienced it, too. Remember the huge queen statue? 😊
same here
Yh I went abt 1996 at ITV studio Manchester they had a robo cop one aswel
Ah, American Adventure theme park. Fond memories. Sad to know it’s now gone. Dont remember seeing this there though.
Can you remember they put huge facehuggers over the native American faces that were "carved" into the outside wall?
They had this at Granada Studios, Manchester in the 1990s.
Yes i remember going on a school trip, amazing ride.
My man would take me every summer
My dad was the mechanic on the rides in Granada studios, in the school holidays I would have the whole ride to myself. Never forget it and so glad it’s on UA-cam
I also remember the Ufo ride that was there
I went on it with my family as a kid
Jeffrey Combs definitely has worked in all Scifi franchises lol, dude is a legend.

I don't recall seeing it at American Adventures, but I did attend it at Granada Studios
There was a life-size Alien Queen statue outside 😊
I loved this when I was young. Pier 39 San Francisco.
Seriously.
@2671james hell I loved that arcade. I think it’s a restaurant now.
@2671james Yeah I ate there in 2015. Didn't realize that was the original location. Good to know.
I was visiting pier 39 and did this “ride” there too. Late 90s. I was at Sonoma State for school.
@@SoCalDude1793 I grew up in Sacramento, so we went to SF fairly often in the 90s.
First time the Marines completed the job and made it back in one piece.
Huh it’s Weyoun from DS9 🥰
Been on this ride about 30 years ago was great and never realised Jeffrey Combs was in it at the time
Combs is such a legend bro
I was randomly thinking about this ride today and wondered if there was footage from it. Opened YT and this popped up. Weird!
I remember this ride being at the Ontario Mills mall in California back in the mid-90s time sure does fly
That's really cool..
Same here, this was one of the best ones they had there
Rode this at the American Adventure in Derby.
I truly didn't know that an alien ride existed at the time.
It's as if Tommy Wiseau directed Aliens.

It’s Alien Tours (instead of Star Tours) what fun! 😊
my god its the star wars holiday special all over again! :P
Jeffrey Combs is an intergalactic treasure.
Heck even a small amount of the xenomorph scenes are footage from the aliens

Kinda how it was back then. Gods, I miss the 80s and 90s.

There is more tension in this, than in the entire movie Romulus....

Reminds me of being a kid at Boomtown in Reno.
Jeffrey Combs + Aliens ? Why the f*ck wasn't he on the films? He would have been great.
This reminds me of Sewer Shark on Sega CD.

Dude its better than the last 6 Alien franchise movies, especially Romulus....
Wrong. Alien and Aliens remains untouchable. The rest are xeno poop 💩.
Awesome Stuff bro i never seen this !
In a world where EMP from a nuclear detonation does not exist.
Marines are NOT SOLDIERS. But I did have the chance to see this in the short time it was available at "Fisherman's Wharf" in SF.
Fanfuckingtastic!! Better than alien Romulus!!!💩🎲
Jeffrey Combs be looking like Bruce Campbell here
I remember riding this in the Empire State building
Any idea what prop guns were used here? Look like some sort of bullpup ‘pulse rifle’ without the underside grenade launcher.
It’s a lightly modified Ruger AC556 Muzzelite Bullpup. They were pretty common guns in late 80s-90s sci-fi movies.
You can see them scattered throughout Arnie's 'Total Recall'.
