I appreciate the support. Many of those things are "vanity metrics," and although we each have our own vice(s), everyone lives a bit differently. Some folks make $300K USD a year, but still are broke, because of the basic principal of "spending more than you bring in," so it's all relative to be honest. But the true path/journey towards achieving a CCIE should warrant the knowledge and experience needed to get a good salary here stateside (most people have been an Engineer for a few years prior to getting a CCIE, not always, but typically they've been in the role/industry for years). At the end of the day, it's all about taking advantage of opportunties that present themselves. I've seen people with CCNPs make more than CCIE as more factors can come into play when you get to the "negotiating table," (e.g., some people don't know their true worth and aren't able to justify it, and/or they take less money and settle just get a job). So many variables are always at play, but nonetheless, the "true pursuit of knowledge" is a continuous step towards achieving those dreams that you spoke about, as long as one stays humble, stays true to themselves, and doesn't settle (at least in my opinion/experience).
