Not so fun fact: There are many theories as to what Gojira is, but one thing is for certain, it’s that Gojira is in constant pain. Listen to the song “who will know”, it plays during the atomic breath scene and it gives us a glimpse into Gojira’s mind, it’s truly tragic.
The sad fact abt shin is that the roar is a scream,if u go to the ost "who will know" the lyrics are resembling shin's pain as hes body dont want him to die and keep moving
I am someone who only just started watching Godzilla movies, it's truly amazing that something like Shin Godzilla or Godzilla Minus One can exist and use Godzilla and then a completely different version in the current Legendary movies can also exist and they're all great to watch.
29:40 - The fact they saw it mutate was why they didn't shoot, I'd say. They probably assumed wouldn't work anymore, if it ever would have to begin with, and given how Godzilla wasn't being actively aggressive at that moment, there was reason to worry hey might provoke it and cause it rampage harder which would have been more damaging, in other words shooting it at that time was a gamble that didn't look promising enough to take, from what i could tell. All that aside Shin Godzilla is a unique take on Godzilla, its implied he mutated from a fish rather than a reptile. And whats sad and scary is that its not even intentionally destructive, even when it destroyed the city with lasers it wasn't intentional but simple a bodily reaction, equivalent to having diarrhea. Shin's body is constantly mutating which causes it to suffer just by living, it's pretty much just following its instincts in any effort to minimize its suffering, all while practically oblivious to the harm it causes, not unlike people unknowingly stepping on ants. The music that plays during its Atomic Breath "who will know" basically represents Shin's own perspective on things.
A little trivia worth knowing about Shin Godzilla: The director of Shin (who is also the creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion) later made concept art about what Shin Godzilla could have been if Toho gave him full control and creativity. Godzilla's "final" form is depicted as a humanoid angel-like being, supposedly beyond human compehension. Basically trying to say that Godzilla has become God himself, which goes to show how this version of him truly has boundless adaptability. Imo this is easily the most terrifying and menacing Godzilla ever made. The fact that the movie's name literally translates to "The true/absolute Godzilla" solidifies my opinion for it.
Now the thing about the tail those weren't teeth those were his fifth evolution where he had realized sometimes being small will be helpful and sort of made many mini Godzillas as a way to fight humanity
I honestly like the Godzilla in this movie better Because he represents exactly what Godzilla should be: he's no hero or villain, he's no king, he's a mindless beast, just a living and walking nuke
Shin godzilla is indeed based off a frilled shark which became polluted because he ate nuclear waste that was dumped in 1950’s and can endlessly evolve into a hyperversal creature too if he doesn’t get stopped, can you imagine a poor hungry fish wanting to eat something and he eats something bad and becomes this? And gets attacked by the whole world while he is already in pain
Quick recap of the Gojira/Godzilla timeline. The original Godzilla was made in 1954 by Toho, and later had many sequels up to 1975. This timeline is called the Showa era. Then from 1984 to 1995, the Heisei era took place, which was also made by Toho. In 1998, the first American Godzilla film was made, and it was horrible, this inspired Toho to make the Millennium era, which takes place from 1999 to 2004. We are now in the Reiwa era, this title means nothing as there are now multiple continuities, like the monsterverse (legendary Godzilla and Kong) shin (standalone film made by Toho) and minus one (another stand alone film by Toho, might have sequels) that’s about it for now.
The Reiwa Era is fine and means something. The Millennium Era only had 2 of the 6 movies connected in continuity, while the other 4 were standalone movies.

Since y‘all wrote so many facts in the comments. Lemme tell you sumthin‘ (Shane Walsh *rubs bald head*) Everytime in where Godzilla screams in THIS movie, it is not to make the humans scared or that he screams so he is KING. Nahhh he actually screams because of the pain he is suffering from. Crazy right? Sad but also creepy…
The reason why America hurt shin godzilla and Japan couldn't is because Japan has less advanced military tech, the bomb used to attack shin godzilla is a mop II bunker buster which can penetrate through 200ft of reinforced concrete. Japan didn't have any bombs that penetrate stuff because they never needed one.
In my opinion the soundtrack for this movie is one of the best ive heard out of any movies ive seen. It takes the godzilla themes and osts and transforma it into a suspensful masterpeice. It perfectly potrays that this isnt godzilla. This is shin godzilla
My Plot twist: The professor who owns the boat was Shin Godzilla (He ate something and mutated into a monstrous creature) The reason why he always attacks japan is because he's a rebellious something idk he got expelled as a biologist in japan.
You should watch Shin Ultraman! it’s a part of the Shin Japan Heroes Universe (collab of big franchises). It released in 2022 and it has returning actors from Shin Godzilla. It’s also revolved around giant monsters and such.
The reason for the whole movie was because Godzilla was in constant pain because of his boiling hot blood which is what his roars are for which caused him to not be aware of what he was doing he just wanted help
a really sad fact: Shin Godzilla actually, never wanted to live. His only goal in life is to make humanity pay for creating him. He is in extreme pain everyday, and his screams are of pain. You can check out "Shin Godzilla deleted scene" both extremely disturbing and extremely sad.

I think all of his actions were out of shear pain from being forced to evolve. That first atomic breath scene was him probably yelling to get all of that built up radiation out of him, since he wasn’t really aiming at anything he was just blasting
I love the eerie tragic end of the world feel in the song that plays in the background the first time godzilla appears on land. The lyrics go as: Persecution of the masses Sacred Blessings count for nothing Oh God give us your protection Let no blame lie at the innocents who have prayed If your high praise is all we have let us not be without you. This song gives me the feeling that there is no hope and that the only thing you have left is the welcoming arms of God himself, so they're begging that God won't abandon them in death.
5:03 "Godzilla Godzilla" isn't the Monsterverse, if anything this is closer to "Godzilla Godzilla" because it's from the original studio that created him.
To answer your timeline question this is the first time that they ever did a movie where nobody in the world knew what a Godzilla was it's a complete like a what if all the other Godzillas toho put out, except for -1 have at least had the 1954 movie as Cannon they are new worlds where nobody has any idea what Godzilla is, the monster verse is its own entity as is Godzilla 1998, every American Godzilla is not considered part of Godzilla's Canon there was a little bit of 1998 in Godzilla final wars that's the one case where there was a crossover of sorts
I personally prefer this Godzilla movie to all the other ones. I love how its mostly animated yet it STILL feels like the older movies with minatures and costumes. They did amazing work on this movie, I just wish we could get a second one.
Shin Godzilla and Godzilla from “Godzilla Singular Point” are in my opinion the undisputed champions of the strongest Godzillas, because they can both just evolve into deities given time.
46:26 not a very fun fact: in this scene there was cut footage due to the original being to disturbing for people to see, what was it you ask? Well the scene involved the flesh of shin godzilla being shown with eyes and teeth growing out of them indicating that it would evolve to be another shin godzilla
Shin Godzilla is pretty insane. Those things on its tail at the end were its response to out evolve its enemies, those were human Godzilla hybrids. They probably would have had a queen bee mentality or a hive mind, meaning again Godzilla would have grown its own army

(P.S don't chew on me if I got it wrong you can correct me)
You should see the deleted scenes of this movie too (can be found on the net) including the contents of the book called "The art of Shing Godzilla". It's not released outside Japan which is a shame because it has so many unused concepts. There is also the Goro Maki's journal and it accounts the experiments the scientist conducted on the creature and tried controllinng it but either failed or willingly released it in Japan after being angered bu the death of his wife. Godzilla bleads because in the beginning when he is a fish with legs the nerves in his gills are bursting because now he is evolvong into a land based creature so what you see in the beginning is literally him gasping for air as he bled. In the deleted scene the reason he is standing is because his body is over heating and its not perfected so he bleads because of the heat causing him internal damage, this was cut from the movie but can be found on UA-cam hence why he looks at his back and runs back to the ocean to cool its body off. Nevertheless this is one of the few films i keep on eevisiting and researching about the offical guide on what could have been if either Toho decides on a sequel or if there werent even sny restrictions. As a matter of fact, the reason why we even get to see Godzilla evolve ks because originally Toho was completely against this idea because of how it was against their traditional norms for Godzilla movies (which is stupid as s*it) but Bandai got word of these and asked Toho to go ahead as it could be profitable so yeah thats why you get to see him evolve. And lastly (its getting bare long 😅) but I love the line where the woman says " Man is more dangerous than Godzilla" its such a powerful line in itself considering the song that plays during the Atomic breath scene being from Godzillas perspective and how in real life, the animal kingdom cannot keep up with Human technology.
When they were talking about half-lives it wasn't Godzilla's Half-Life it was the radiations half-life that area will become livable again in just two or three years and not have radiation issues after that time far better than the actual nuclear attacks that have some half-lives in listing in 50 or 60 years meaning that it's over a 300 years before the whole area becomes practically radiation free

Lmao bro has priorities 😂
Shin standing over the flaming city will never not give me the chills
the very end where you can see little people coming off of Godzilla, that was actually his new evolution where he would send little versions of himself the size of humans to take them out. he was going to eventually evolve into what took him out.
"If Godzilla is defeated by committee, he will become a committee."
@@GoGojiraGo lol
Theres 2 voices representing godzilla. The high pitch voice just wants the pain to stop
And the lower pitch voice thinks that by fighting and causing destruction theres a slight chance that the pain could stop
Not so fun fact: There are many theories as to what Gojira is, but one thing is for certain, it’s that Gojira is in constant pain. Listen to the song “who will know”, it plays during the atomic breath scene and it gives us a glimpse into Gojira’s mind, it’s truly tragic.
The lyrics also say it all
The sad fact abt shin is that the roar is a scream,if u go to the ost "who will know" the lyrics are resembling shin's pain as hes body dont want him to die and keep moving
I am someone who only just started watching Godzilla movies, it's truly amazing that something like Shin Godzilla or Godzilla Minus One can exist and use Godzilla and then a completely different version in the current Legendary movies can also exist and they're all great to watch.
I mean no they can't exist but yeah they're cool movies
@@jackiejackyjaqy...7219 You do realize I was talking about the movies themselves right? Not the actual kaiju?
A little trivia worth knowing about Shin Godzilla:
The director of Shin (who is also the creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion) later made concept art about what Shin Godzilla could have been if Toho gave him full control and creativity.
I only knew about the final form consecutive but definitely didn’t know the director was the creator of one of my favorite animes
And his/her evolving is is unlimited and he she can multiply based on the deleted scene
Now the thing about the tail those weren't teeth those were his fifth evolution where he had realized sometimes being small will be helpful and sort of made many mini Godzillas as a way to fight humanity
I honestly like the Godzilla in this movie better
Because he represents exactly what Godzilla should be: he's no hero or villain, he's no king, he's a mindless beast, just a living and walking nuke
ye i agree
One fact everyone should know is that the only reason why shin is screaming and roaring is because he is in pain because of his evolving
My dad is credited for the Choir lyrics in this movie
Shin Godzilla is just a hopeless creature that's always in pain.😢😢😢 I mean, until it almost destroys Tokyo.
30:01 people have been debating who’s stronger since that king of the monsters came out
Shin Godzilla structure : 40% meetings
60% funni lizard
I love Shin Godzilla reaction videos and whenever they see Kamata Kun they're absolutely horrified
"Is that a rooster?"
-Dan 2024
Do you mean don💀
Shin Godzilla is Basically the Buu of Godzilla verse. That Monster can transform as many times as he wants to beat yo ask
In that way he is more akin to cell
Cell keeps evolving, buu doesn't, he temporarily absorbs others to mimick their capabilities
Doesn't ''evolve''
Cell evolves

Since y‘all wrote so many facts in the comments. Lemme tell you sumthin‘ (Shane Walsh *rubs bald head*) Everytime in where Godzilla screams in THIS movie, it is not to make the humans scared or that he screams so he is KING. Nahhh he actually screams because of the pain he is suffering from. Crazy right? Sad but also creepy…
This intro just shows why Shin is my favorite Godzilla variant
"I wont see a third bomb" is the COLDEST line in the movie.
It hurts to even read it! To hear her defeated voice say it is just... wow.
41:25 if yall look closely hes smilling💀
💀💀💀 R dude 🤣
In my opinion the soundtrack for this movie is one of the best ive heard out of any movies ive seen. It takes the godzilla themes and osts and transforma it into a suspensful masterpeice. It perfectly potrays that this isnt godzilla. This is shin godzilla
Bro said oooooomyyyyyy baddie ommmmmyyy god😂😂😂😂😂😂 I 😂😂😂40:14
My Plot twist: The professor who owns the boat was Shin Godzilla (He ate something and mutated into a monstrous creature)
The reason why he always attacks japan is because he's a rebellious something idk he got expelled as a biologist in japan.
You should watch Shin Ultraman! it’s a part of the Shin Japan Heroes Universe (collab of big franchises). It released in 2022 and it has returning actors from Shin Godzilla. It’s also revolved around giant monsters and such.
There’s a monster in shin ultra called gomess, it looks like shin Godzilla
Not ashamed to say I yelled YES after seeing this show up in my notifications, shin godzilla is such a beloved movie of mine
The reason for the whole movie was because Godzilla was in constant pain because of his boiling hot blood which is what his roars are for which caused him to not be aware of what he was doing he just wanted help
one of the best gojira movies
a really sad fact: Shin Godzilla actually, never wanted to live. His only goal in life is to make humanity pay for creating him. He is in extreme pain everyday, and his screams are of pain. You can check out "Shin Godzilla deleted scene" both extremely disturbing and extremely sad.
fun fact: shin Godzilla is in pain and he/she doesn't want to kill people he just wants to live
He/she wants to die not live because of its constant pain
seeing random ass youtubers who keep yapping being terrified of shin godzilla brings a smile to my face
he had to yap cuz copyright
5 stage he grows wings and becomes like a huge dragon thing and thoughs little humanoid creatures on his tail come of him and sshoot beams from thier forehead
Damn this movie is still sad each time i watch it, I really feel bad for Shin Godzilla. Thankfully his suffering came to an end
Not necessarily an end, he’s just frozen. And still evolving 😭
@@Your20droid he's basically a nuclear reactor. Once he's frozen he's literally done. Nuclear reactors need heat, and since he's frozen he's done.
@@paperclip6377 It’s hinted that he’s not done. Hence me saying he’s frozen, but still evolving. And it was stated in the movie that it’s only a temporary plan. This will only hold him for a few years till he’s back to terrorizing the city.
@@Your20droidIt can't involve without energy, since its frozen it lost all the energy
@@FlameyClockspeedThen what its the shit on his tail?
I actually feel bad for shin, he wasnt even trying to kill anyone, he was just trying to survive thats why he attacked back
yeah , also whenever shin godzilla roars it means hes in pain
I think all of his actions were out of shear pain from being forced to evolve. That first atomic breath scene was him probably yelling to get all of that built up radiation out of him, since he wasn’t really aiming at anything he was just blasting
I love the eerie tragic end of the world feel in the song that plays in the background the first time godzilla appears on land. The lyrics go as:
Persecution of the masses
Sacred Blessings count for nothing
Oh God give us your protection
Let no blame lie at the innocents who have prayed
If your high praise is all we have
let us not be without you.
This song gives me the feeling that there is no hope and that the only thing you have left is the welcoming arms of God himself, so they're begging that God won't abandon them in death.
Watch godzilla minus one
My cat when i did not feed him for 10 minutes:😂
This is a completely different Sha bang not apart of the monster verse
5:03 "Godzilla Godzilla" isn't the Monsterverse, if anything this is closer to "Godzilla Godzilla" because it's from the original studio that created him.
Perhaps “Legendary Godzilla” is what was meant to be used
To answer your timeline question this is the first time that they ever did a movie where nobody in the world knew what a Godzilla was it's a complete like a what if all the other Godzillas toho put out, except for -1 have at least had the 1954 movie as Cannon they are new worlds where nobody has any idea what Godzilla is, the monster verse is its own entity as is Godzilla 1998, every American Godzilla is not considered part of Godzilla's Canon there was a little bit of 1998 in Godzilla final wars that's the one case where there was a crossover of sorts
I personally prefer this Godzilla movie to all the other ones. I love how its mostly animated yet it STILL feels like the older movies with minatures and costumes. They did amazing work on this movie, I just wish we could get a second one.
Bro said I'll be walking. I'm racing. I'll be destroying your city.😂😂😂😂
Has anyone else noticed how Japan is always attacked by some Kaiju? Toho Godzilla films, pacific rim for some of the movie, etc.
They probably would have had a queen bee mentality or a hive mind, meaning again Godzilla would have grown its own army
my favourite part of this movie is the real use of military vehicles, which is very rare for Japanese movies using the real thing
Real in what sense
@@ksanbahlyngwa1998 as in the vehicles used in the movie are accurate for the time, ticks the boxes of the history fans so they can recognise accurate planes, tanks and ships for the time period
I WANT A SECOND ENDING! WHERE SHIN GODZILLA IS WINNING‼
Different timeline but in one movie the evolution happens
This movie "Shin Gojira (Godzilla)" is an allegory (if that's the right word) of the disasters happened because of the Japanese bureaucracy, they didn't mobilized and act fast during the two disasters one is the Tsunami and two is the Fukushima nuclear meltdown disaster.
When they were talking about half-lives it wasn't Godzilla's Half-Life it was the radiations half-life that area will become livable again in just two or three years and not have radiation issues after that time far better than the actual nuclear attacks that have some half-lives in listing in 50 or 60 years meaning that it's over a 300 years before the whole area becomes practically radiation free
fun fact, if you reverse the atomic breath scene, it looks like godzilla eats the fire and then repairs the city
if you like this, I HIGHLY recommend Shin Ultraman. You'd love it (also, the end scene was the tip of its tail. If you looked closley throughout the movie, it had a face on its tail ever since his 4th form. the next stage, 5th form is when a bunch of humanoid monsters sprout from its tail and go on land. kinda like zombies)
Not only that, he becomes a giant hunan
These are the many forms
1st: ???
2th: kamata kun
3th:shinagawa kun
4th: kamakura san
5th: some things growing out of its tails
6th: would evolve bigger
7th:hes big in the space
8th hes just some eyes in the space
9th: why is it bigger than the galaxy
10th: consuming all of our galaxy
And it goes forever
You should watch Godzilla minus one when it comes out on digital.
That’s my favorite Godzilla movie.
52:13 "she got cake as well gdamn" lolol
bro went to get a drink and came back DRIPPING in sweat 😂😂😂
It’s stand still because it wants to die also it’s always in pain that’s why it exploded
Fun fact: shin Godzilla just tried to help Japan but Japan attacked him he had no other choice but to fight back
Crazy that this film is like 8 years old but its becomes trending 😭
I like shin godzilla 😊😊
Can’t wait for the epic rap battle of Godzilla vs King Kong reaction!!
Fact,: there is blood in the movie and a deleted scene
Sad fact: shin godzilla actually didn't want to kill any humans he was in endless pain and thought they would help him but instead they attacked him
Damn he missed the humanoid creature on the tail. You should watch godzilla final wars lol. Encapsulates early 2,000s perfectly
Godzilla is a Japanese franchise. Hollywood I guess has some rights to make their Americanized version ie: The Monsterverse. But you will always see Japanese Godzilla movies because it's their creation. Like Godzilla Minus One, which is fan-frickin-tastic.
You can also compare it so Super Sentai (Japanese) vs Power Rangers (American)...
This is the TRUE Godzilla, the re-imagination of the original creator, keeping its original inspiration of beeing the personification of humanity's errors and keeping it WAY diferent from the more fantasy-ish American Zilla
