I'm a 72 year old ultra runner who does mostly looped races, so I really enjoyed watching this video. I appreciate your unique sense of humor . Keep the videos coming. That's quite a series of runs you have planned, thank you for taking us along.
Thanks! I think it was a good run but really, it’s 3rd only because of who was racing. And the best runners were the day before. Still, very proud of my little trophy which is now sitting in my studio :)
Wine, snacks, my wife and I are watching the fantastic documentary of your incredible podium! Congratulations Simon! You are one of the few runners worldwide that can enjoy a podium! You rock!
Wow! I can't imagine this looped course being easy. You did amazing my friend! You're giving me a TON of inspiration, motivation, and encouragement for my first 100 miler.
Thanks!! I don't even know why I did it again... I think honestly it was to have variety on the channel, but I miss the mountains! UTE will be much more fun.
Thanks so much. I was there racing and cheered you on when I saw you. Met Nora a couple of times. She is AWESOME! You and I had talked back and forth in the comments on another video (I forget which one) about doing this race. I signed up and finished my first 100 miler!!! It took about 38 hours (I think). I've already signed up for my next one. Another short loop course. Thank you for all your videos and inspiration. YOU ROCK
Oh yeah! If you are who I think you are - way to go on keep pushing! I partly wanted to finally wrap up my "mental toughness' video because of that. Just pure grit - it was really impressive to keep going when things just aren't going smoothly! Awesome and congrats!
Awesome job Simon!! I was watching Aravaipa's live coverage from the desk top and saw you dancing with Elvis and started laughing! But when I first saw you, I said out loud: "yeah, Simon is there"! Again, awesome job brother! Skal!
Oh congratulations that race looks like a little bit of mind control. It’s almost like running those kinda like I’m doing a 24 hour race this year I know 5K course but least that’s in the woods with some elevation. This is something else. Congratulations I think that’ll tune your mind for your 250.
It gets very mental very quickly! There's nothing (except dogs...) to distract you from the pain. And the pain is there, especially that I was pushing that pace! Honestly not a big fan, but it was nice to switch it up and have some variety on the channel! Good luck at your 24! That's also very tough - I prefer having a fixed distance myself as it creates an incentive to push towards the end (aka "the faster I run, the sooner I'm done, and the sooner I can be in bed").
Thanks! Very proud of it. Although to be fair, the best runners were competing the day before, so this was more a "best of the rest" podium. But still very proud and very proud of my time!
Awesome congratulations. Thanks for sharing your journey. I’ve only gotten to a 50 miler so far. I’ve gotten to a 168 miles on my bicycle if that counts. 🤣
What's totes? Trophy? If so, yeah it's kind of intense because there are soooo many distance and fixed time races. Which makes it weird - on a small loop like that you'd think you can keep track that you're ~3rd, but I had no clue (and since display was broken for 100 milers, that was quite shocking to me, ... I thought I was 5-6)
Funny enough - because it's a movie I watched when much younger, I never heard the english/original! Searching clips was interesting - jim carrey is soooo over the top!
Alright, get me back to the trails and mountains ASAP
Bravo! Loved that fast loop . Mental strength and ace ventura are in your team.
Thanks! It's kind of wild that the loop is so short I was even able to show the full thing!

Glad you enjoyed it! Have you ever tried Jackpot itself? Amazing crowd for that - very impressive!
How did I not know you podiumed for this race?!!!!! Congratulations!!!

Appreciate these videos. Im planning a 6 hour looped race thats only 500m long in a mine shaft. So its going to be some mental endurance for sure!
500m!!! Yup that will become mental very quickly! Any specific distance goal?
@runningwithsimon marathon distance. If i can beat that ill be over the moon!

Many thanks!

Dammit my hand is in the shot again….
The star of the show!

It's such a silly yet nice touch for them to have him there haha!
Nice job! Thanks for recording this video.
Thanks :)
Fantastic well done🎉 thanks for video :)
Thank you !
That's awesome man!!! Good job
Thanks! That was a grind for sure! It was really tempting to simply slow down...
You're an inspiration Simon, keep on running! Be nice to see you on the trails one day👍🏼
Love it. It was great seeing you on my local route. Now I see what a real runner can do. Run Happy!
No pace or distance makes you 'real' vs. 'fake' runner!
Awesome performance! Takes a lot of mental strength to run along the same loop for so long.👍
It's seriously boring lol. I almost never use music but there was no way I could do without...

Awesome Simon. Not seen anyone doing so many 100 milers.👍
Thanks! Gonna slow down eventually, but for now I'm having a blast. Just by going a little slower than I could, it makes it much more "sustainable"
Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks!
Congrats on the podium!

Good job! Je suis tes videos depuis quelques temps pour me préparer à mon premier ultra en avril.
Bonne chance!
Way to go!! And I LOVE your intro to your videos!! I’m always, who’s the dog going to be!!???
It was tough to chose - that big fluffy one was so cute too!
Chapeau🥳
Merci :)
Well done, mate!
Thanks - it was a grind to keep that pace!
Awesome congratulations. Thanks for sharing your journey. I’ve only gotten to a 50 miler so far. I’ve gotten to a 168 miles on my bicycle if that counts. 🤣

Lol yeah of course it counts... I was VERY happy to get off that saddle after only 112 miles...
Well done!!!
Thanks :)

Incredible amount of totes for a race with one aid station!

All that water and no one was carrying the boat…..sad
But why carry a boat when you can carry TWO BOATS?!?!
Mind blown!
