2023. Listening to this timeless song by the legendary David Pack.
Why am I crying listening to this beautiful song. I graduated high school in 79. Life was so easy my mom was still alive, bring back so many wonderful memories.
Me too, what a change in the world
One of the side effects of amazing music!
It did the same thing to me. One of the most memorable songs of my life.
I graduated in 1980 and I feel the exact same way
Same here…
40 years later this song still gives me chills.
NO BETTER MUSIC THAN THE 70’s ❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️
totally agree
OMG - That song is 42 years old and dude can STILL put it down like that! GET IT, Mr. Pack!!!
Remember hoping the radio station would play this again!!!! God would i go back and savor the days without phones and social media.
Amazing! And David Pack was the biggest part of Ambrosia!! ❤
You are So Right!
Back then when the music world was loaded with talented musicians.
Still love this song '2024 ❤
I scanned comments and not one I saw mentioned that David Pack is not only a great singer and guitarist--he is a MIRACLE OF A SONGWRITER!!! He deserves much more recognition for writing, as well as performing.
Yeah but also for having those four hot foxes on the stage singing the greater backup of all time!
Thank you David Pack and Ambrosia for making this song and the others. Continue doing these songs live for the next generation to come.
Wonderful arrangement with his vocals. All time favorite band. I’m 66 and feel like it was yesterday
Ah, big love and thanks to you all!!!! I needed a little of that today.
I was 15 in 79. I still dig this. Have the cd. Keep it going.
My husband and our friends have passed away. I'm the only one left out of the group. I have such great memories of them all. The music what's such a big part of our lives.😂❤
His voice is as good today as 1979...He is a Singer and a Fantastic Songwriter...
An Extraordinary Talent Transcending His Own Time and Space...
David Pack will ALWAYS be THAT dude!!!! Thank you Jim Brickman.
He sounds even better than in the 70’s and 80’s if that’s possible. Incredible!
I think this is one of David's best performances ever. I really love those back up singers, they sound almost too perfect! Beautiful!!!
This song has to be one of the best loved songs of all time !! Music and lyrics come together perfectly in harmony. Beautiful music of the 70's pure and simple. Thank you David Pack !!
Damn how I wish I was around during these years. I’m 22 and I’m so in love with this generation of music! His voice mesmerized me😍 there’s still a few of us who appreciate this REAL music
This is the best music!!
I can't get enough of this music. Brings back memories. 70's had the best music. Thanks for posting.
Let's go back to where life was good the hell with these times!!!!!!!!!!
I have been watching this over and over because I just can't believe what I am seeing and hearing! He is nearing 70 and still performing with such joy. His voice is still wonderful and he seems like such a nice man. Think I will go watch it again!
I’m 52
Of all the songs I love, this is my favorite!!!!!!!
David’s voice is so silky smooth and so sexy
I don't feel like anyone ever needs to celebrate the 70s, but if you do, this song would be one of the top reasons.
O.M.G...David Pack puts a heavy soul injection into his timeless hit! God bless you, man!
You are tge reason I wrote such great songs! Thank u
Ah... David's voice is STILL golden. Like Porsche, there is no substitute.
Wow! he is still INSANELY good !
I love this performance by David Pack. His was is still great and I have loved this man and his voice. It is so great to go back to golden years of the 70s on _UA-cam thank you for the memories.
I named my son after the band Ambrosia. Huge admirer of David Pack as in HUGE. As a music producer and musician, he epitomises everything I love about music. One of thee greatest influences in my musical life here in New Zealand. Thank you David and thank you Jim for bringing us these concerts especially to those way down under.
Never forget this music! Brings back memories of my teenage years!
This is the kind of elusive song most musician’s strive all their lives to write.
Props to him to perform it 30 years later and still nails it 💯..
This guy’s the real deal.
One of the great voices ever in pop/rock music - so much soul. Sounded amazing here, and still does.
David Pack is incredible - what a voice
His vocals are still unbelievably good
One of the best blue-eyed soul cats out there. Still has that awesome falsetto, too.
David, thank you for existing. In 1979, I was 8, and I have loved you ever since.
So we’ve basically had almost 20 years of singing competitions on TV and no one has found a male voice as good as this one.
It's incredible, right?
He's a straight, White male. The left hates straight White people, especially men. Remember, only Blacks have soul according them .
Clearly the best artists don't need competitions, they just make music and cross their fingers that the word gets out somehow 😅
Lies.
@@jimbrickman yes yes yes
Fantastic. This was when real songs were still being written - the 70s - best music decade.
@Baja Mack ...The song was written in 1979 (on the 4th of July) by Pack..just released in 1980. It's a 70's song. www.tennessean.com/story/entertainment/music/story-behind-the-song/2014/07/11/story-behind-song-biggest-part/12528937/
You know what? I'm a millenial I was born in 1990 but my gosh this song makes me chills, it sounds so great, I hope this kind of genre is gonna be revived and innovated
They were piping in 70s music in every supermarket when I was growing up in the 90s, this music is like the fabric of my childhood 💗
There's a movement happening right now to bring it back. It's still fairly under the radar, but it's happening. Modern blue eyed soul.
It's like Michael Mcdonald with a falsetto. Incredible! ❤
Too much bubble-gummy in my 20’s, now in my mid 60’s they are GOLDEN! I love these songs, the real Ambrosia, and David Pack!
Who's the bumbling fool who gave a thumbs down???? Definitely one of the best jams of my generation.
To each their own, I guess... but I agree with YOU!
LOOOL!!!
Must be a thumbs down from a ... Swifty...
I heard this watching the super bowl last night in a commercial and it took me back! Omygawd, I lovvvvvvve this song! I was a senior in high school!
I remembered using this lyric in a love letter I gave my wife!! IT WORKED!!!! THANK YOU MR. DAVID PACK!!!!
I must say that that I cried a tear of joy, for you
Who played drums? They added a Purdie/Pocaro shuffle. Wow.
OMG!!!!!!! WOW....JUST....WOW!!!!!!! David Pack still has IT!!!! How many musicians can still hit those falsetto notes 40 years later? ❤️️❤️️❤️️🎸🎶
I saw Frankie Valli a couple years ago and he still has it. Amazing. He's in his 80's!
Indeed!!
You're right deb, some musicians like him never lose their voice. It must have something to do with aging and some people's cells don't age as fast. For you to be old enough to be around back when that song came out, means you haven't aged much either, because you still look hot. I grew up in the 1970's and not many people I went to school with back then look as good as you today. Care to share your secrets to looking young? I need to start drinking from your fountain of youth.
David Pack, one of the best singers of all time, and that's saying something.
Timeless song. I miss the radio of the 70's. Play the crap out of what was hot, just the way it should be.
The Biggest Part of Me is still one of my favorite songs from elementary school. It was inspiring to me during graduation. Fond memories 😊
This song got me through some sad times. Losing my best friend. RIP Cynthia 💜🇳🇴 xxx
Man the BGVs (background vocals) are crazy awesome. Wow.
David Pack has the voice that always gave me goosebumps. Listening to him on radio or record player. ❤❤❤
His voice still gives me goosebumps!!!! ❤❤❤
Great songs never get bad, but they just become better like a good wine🍷🍷
Pack's voice sounds just like it did even more powerful. He must be one of the few musicians who have kept their power in their voice. That takes a lot of discipline.
yeah but how in the world did he become a lesbian?
I agree🙂❤
I agree
Great guitar picking,too
He is Soul...that's his investment! He is and has always been committed
Hearing this song was like going back in time and remembering how wonderful 1979 was
I blast this in my car every journey I take especially long ones. This is REAL music, not the tripe classed as music nowadays!
This song I've known for years ....has much more meaning to me Today than it did back then as my fairytale wife went to heaven a couple yrs ago.We will be together forever ....
Oh woooooooowwwwww!!!!!! What a voice after 30 years,, wow, wow, wow!!!!!
Biggest part of me is more than a decade older than me but hell, david pack can swoon me over this song! I would crying and cheering in the audience
Incredible voice…..always has been. So unique and BEAUTIFUL.
David Pack is great to this day! GOD BLESS HIM!
this is honestly amazing. He finishes this so strong. What an amazing talent. He could record another record and I wish he would. Incredible performance!
I never ever get tired of hearing this beautiful love song. Thank you David for bringing back memories.
Love the background girls! They blend amazingly well. ❤
It's 2022. Are we going to be touched by such a great song again somewhere in future times?
this song is really a big part of me. God bless to the artists.. David Pack, Ambrosia.. Sir Jim and company
Impressive falsetto for almost 40 years later!
He's magnificent; plain and simple. Rock on David Pack forever!❤😊
legend! HE STILL GOT IT, ITS JUST INSANE HOW MUCH CONTROL HE HAS OF HIS FALSETTO AND LOW CHEST VOICE
What a dream ride for all of the musicians who played with David this night. Wow........
I used to listen to Ambrosia back when I was a teen in the '70's, and have recently rediscovered their music. They're wonderful!!
The world is starving for good music again, but there’s very little to be found. 🫤 😢
Wow, clean backing vocals! Nice job sir! Timeless music.
Still giving me chills... How I loved Ambrosia and that voice. He's still got it
GETTING BETTER AS WE GET OLDER...😎
This song brings back so many happy memories. Superb melody and gorgeous lyrics. Timeless.
David Pack's voice in this iconic hit is one of the greatest ever. It will live on forever.
Those background harmonies are heavenly!!!
it was an honor to be part of this concert...and David is a DOLL!!! They all were! M. Ware Wilder (one of the bgv's) :)
Absolutely! Their perfect harmonies made this so great!
you're right! Very touching!
@@cc1966ful Fantastic vocal power far beyond the band's capability in the 1970s. Just so much better with your contribution.
@@markwilliams3174 thank you!!!
Pack did a great job! IMHO the real MVP of this song has always been that rock-solid bassline and the way it just moves around so effortlessly. This bassline just absolutely murders, it's SO good!
I just love DAVID PACK! FABULOUS SINGER!
I can't get this song off my mind for now. My voice cracks with emotion when I try to sing along. Beautiful....
This guy has a legendary voice, for sure.
Way to preserve a voice going on 30 years.
Sounds just like he did in 1979...
Yes... stunning, great! and this little scat-guitar interlude! ;-)
Yess
His voice seems to be staying in the past👍😭🥰
Thank you, Jim Brickman Music, all other participants and last, but, first, the Backup Singers. Exceptional, in my opinion.
Thank you!
