Fort Wayne, Indiana - Crescent Avenue Garden's Certified Master Technician shows us how to tune-up our lawn mower and get it ready for the Spring mowing seasons

I always like to put a little less oil in than what it says. Then top it up using the dipstick. Reason being there's always a little old oil left in the motor.
@@donzi32boats80 90lbs? Jesus. Maybe for a riding lawn mower. Depends on the mower. Most are 40-60ft lbs. Plus once you've done enough blades you can just do it by feel, especially for a walk behind mower. I'd be more worried if he didn't torque down the flywheel with a torque wrench.
yea he likes to showcase the technical aspect of removing the glass clippings from under the deck for 15 seconds instead. its a good thing he put that in there. otherwise i wouldnt know how to scrape the clippings off. everyone is born with the knowledge of sharping a mower blade so it didnt make the final cut (no pun intended) of the video.
People are so negative this man did a wonderful job took his time to share a video keep up the good work and dont worry about the negative feedback
Michael White "wonderful job".
Yeah, right. That was not thorough whatsoever.

Tip: put a plastic bag under gas tank cap to prevent leakage of gas when you turn lawn mower onto its side.
Thank you for the walk thru!! Hopefully I can save my mower before it dies completely!!
Very helpful video! Just got a new to me push mower and will be sing my very first tune up.
Thanks. Very helpful.
Should tell people to run the engine first to warm the oil so 99 % all comes out !!
Thank you

I like how the blade bolt was hand tight.
Good idea to start the mower when you're finished to confirm that it's running good.
I live by ft wayne!! Good job buddy. Thanks
That's not a re-tune, that's a service!
If you don’t have the manual for the lawn mower, how do you find the amount of oil?
What kind of plug was that ? Torque to how many lbs?? How much for the tune up you did?
Good informative vid but I am surprised a master tech wouldn’t use a torque stick when tightening a lawnmower blade.
Same thought I had. Toro recommends 90lb of torque. Pretty important info to leave out.

its not the space shuttle man.
wonderful professiona vid thank you CAG 6/20/2019 e
got mower running but it's rough out of timing maybe?
Would I be able to run SAE 30 in my Honda mower in the Chicago area?
If its above 50 degrees yes
Did it start?
You're in a shop and you use a wrench to remove the blade? Impact wrench is easier
If Im expecting a tune up I would expect all new parts to be installed in that tune up
looks like the wrong spark plug. the threads are way longer than the old one
I don't see you blow out all of the fin
I didn’t see you sharp the blade

@@NickB-zf5rh exactly.

did all this and still it didn't run
the deck is still caked with organics. if you are sharpening or replacing the blade why not clean out the deck for better cutting performance?
Because it's just a video 🙄
I do believe he put the blade on wrong
Why don't you use the drain plug to drain the oil
Could you tell me where it is? Sounds so much easier then the way I’ve been doing it
@@schommer75 It should be under the deck
If the mower has a belt drive, draining from the bottom drain plug may accidentally hit the belt.
also you only did a lawn mower check up. you did not tune up Just Check & Add Enginesanything.
Agree
new spark plug every year? what a waste
tune up? this is a normal service, good service, but not tune up
