A few tips: 1) You can find out where to make the cut by using a flashlight and shining it through the case of the shell. 2) The straighter you make the cut, the more accurate the projectile will hit. 3) Leave a small piece of the cut still attached to the projectile.
Will the cut she'll pass through a traditional barrel? I don't think so. many youtubers do this but I tested a shell to see if it fits in the barrel (tip) but it doesn't fit.
It's easier to hold a shell in your hand and cut in a circle you want to cut it where the center of the cup and when you come back around do not come into the same line you overlap it sort of acts like a spring never used them in pump shotguns or semi-automatics unless you only load one at a time the best thing to use them in is side by sides and over under shotguns remember this is what they use before there was even a shotgun slug even invented yet AKA it was invented on the battlefield the son of big projectile down the lane and they thought well if we could just get this in off without losing it so we're going to pull out a knife and did that quite unique isn't it when you need to defend yourself against the enemy
What about this idea? Instead of cutting the shell in half, drill several holes around the plastic holding the shell pellets and put some super glue on the shell pellets? If this works, please tell me. I don't have enough land to test this out & I live in a residential area...
Yea there called cut shells grandpa could do it on the run. No you cut around and over lap where you started real easy I taught my daughter how to quickly.
By time you tell Yogi, n boo-boo hold on while I cut a shotgun shell , they will have your pick a nick basket and will yell back smarter than the average guy who should have had a few slugs in his pocket!!i always have both if I have my shotgun out
Emergency situation? What possible situation would a legal hunter ever be in where they would have to stop and cut a shell to make a "slug"? I find this video to be ridiculous.
I don recall him saying anything about hunting. I believe he meant for self defense or survival for all we know? An emergency situation maybe if a person were lost and did need food and a shotgun round wasn’t powerful enough to take down a elk or deer and you had to eat..
Any unlimited possible situations where you don't have the proper shells to either save your life or your family.think about it.not really as unthinkable as you say.the world is dangerously unpredictable.....
Fred is one of the best hunters in the world! But a puzzle-solver, not so much! lol
I used to do that growing up with my Sears , single shot 20ga. My Grandfather showed me how to do it. He had to hunt for food growing up
Granpa showed me this age old
" hack" used my first "cut slug"

Cut shells have been used since the invention of of the shotgun
No they haven't as shotguns have been around much longer than the shells.

Dont try this at home, but here's how you do it. First thing somebody is going to do.

Yes, but that makes too much sense.
Prepare your shells ahead of time?
Just carry a couple of slugs in your ammo belt . This is dangerous..
I really like it! Very creative and maybe useful. Thanks!
But, I think the mix of hot plastic and hot pellets inside the barrel is not a good idea? 🤔
Lemme show ya something.
Never do this
Instant squib!
You lost me at Black Rifle….
